  1. I hope you are all proud of me for biting my tongue and not posting responses in the thread.
  2. I am against it.
  3. It's just hard to get used to this crap baseball. It used to be we were in the race every year. This crap is difficult to digest. Also, this tanking business is new in sports and frankly it angers me beyond belief. Giving up baseball or adopting a new team would be wise as you suggest but I've always been a fan of this team.
  4. I said on here I was against the separation of kids from parents. I've said many times I dislike Trump but everybody thinks that's not true. You know, some people can dislike certain members of their own party. Some people can root for government officials to have success no matter the party. Obama wasn't universally praised but I respect the guy and liked him. I dislike Trump; how many times can I say it. I know ... I'm lying. I have some hidden Trump agenda. Sorry that I feel the doctoring of food is gross and sickens me and makes me think that behavior is sub-human as well.
  5. Would I be considered a rat for wondering why people worry about the draft all year long instead of winning then the draft comes and you are rewarded with a Madrigal? Now no offense to him, but literally nobody is predicting stardom. I mean a year ago if somebody said you'd ultimately get Madrigal on draft day would you have been so interested in the draft leading up to it? Again nothing against the young man, I'm sure he'll be a fine player even though we already have a SS and 2Bman on our projected WS contending teams and he's not exactly a prototypical 3Bman or outfielder. Oh well, to each his own. I can root for Ws while you root for next year's No. 1-3 pick.
  6. Well for eight years it was pretty peaceful as we had a genuinely good guy President in Obama. Unfortunately instead of getting behind his running mate during a time in which he was having personal tragedy and begging him to run, or letting Bernie beat Hillary fair and square, we were stuck with two horrific candidates and here we are. The Democrats are like the White Sox in 05. Blew a chance to stay on top a long long time. But Republicans are hated so badly by the left, we are now at where we are at. What you described in your post is what we are. Trump is so dislikeable and mean spirited and wanting the rich to hog all the wealth, again we have what we have. There's no solution except to wait it out and hope there are better candidates next time. Again, it was peaceful with Obama so to speak cause he was such a good person. The Republicans pretty much had to shut up and let Obama's eight years run out. Maybe Biden will run. He's electable. I think Bernie is electable only if the Millenials make it happen.
  7. Ask HotFire how he'd describe his feelings toward Abreu. It sure seems like hate to me. He thinks he's useless basically.
  8. Damn. So gross to think about. Really, whoever would spit in somebody's food or stick the cheese in one's pants then give it to somebody to eat is a despicable human being. I mean it's not funny, it's really sub-human behavior. Our country is a mess right now. It really says a lot about Trump that he's hated so much by everybody. You'd think Hollywood would actually like him. Didn't he host Celebrity Apprentice as well as Apprentice? He's part of the Hollywood crowd but they hate him almost universally. Didn't Hollywood love Reagan cause he was also one of their own?
  9. Your hatred of Abreu is weird. There's not been a more consistently supurb White Sox player the first four years of a career. Yes he's gonna have to amp it up if he hopes to be as productive this year.
  10. As far as OJ, damn I don't know. I think you have to serve him as well. He served his time and got probation for that crime. As far as the other one, he got exonerated so what has he done wrong in the eyes of the law? I'd serve O.J. One thing crazy about OJ Simpson, if he is a pathological killer and most say he had to be the one to brutally murder two people, how has he stopped murdering? I don't know how you could commit one violent crime then just stop. Maybe he's convinced himself he's no murderer and it was a dream.
  11. I actually thought of that. Now public figures have to worry about their food being poisoned or tampered with. I did figure they did Sanders a favor. The chef probably would have messed with the food. Although that is illegal. If you sicken somebody purposely you could go to jail. There probably was at least one Trumpie in the kitchen who would have called the cops.
  12. I think you are trying to bait me or something. I said I don't like Trump. How many times do I have to say it? He's everything I despise. Rich guy with a big ego (that goes without saying with most rich guys who have yes men surrounding them). As far as the magazine, the photographer was going on media shows bragging about his photo and what it represented. And it was all a fib. I personally think anytime you doctor a photo it's risky and walking a slippery slope. I've been reading we are headed for a Civil War. Now certain restaurants aren't going to serve people on the other side. Crazy times. So much hate until a hurricane hits. Then we all bond together and help each other. This country is bizarre. Utter hatred of each other til a national disaster hits then people helping people.
  13. Some of you guys are so demanding. The grass is always greener with other team's players. Abreu probably had a shitty half cause the team reeked. Always blame the player, right? Even a proven veteran.
  14. I read today Civil War is coming. America is divided
  15. Stuff like this just floors me. I mean how fricking stupid can a public figure be? To say what he did is just plain imbecilic. I didn't see it but the minute the other guest expressed shock/anger at that statement, Bessie shoulda took over the show and apologized profusely immediately. "Oh my gosh, sir, I am so sorry. Cotton picking mind is a figure of speech that came into my head and I certainly did not mean to insult you. I reiterate I am very sorry and I truly ask your forgiveness for using that cliche that has no business ever being said again. Please sir, forgive me!"
  16. I think if the doctor prescribed this drug, the pharmacist should be obligated to fork over the prescription. Didn't the pharmacist take an oath to follow through with doctor's orders? I don't think the pharm guy can play God. He has to fork over the prescription or lose his license I'd say. But back to Sanders ... what do you all say to the downtown businesses being furious with the owner of the restaurant?? They are making their town look like intolerant, mean people. Could hurt tourism all because of an extremely left restaurant owner. I mean she coulda served the Sanders party and blasted them on Twitter while they were there or after they left. I think Sarah Sanders showed class in just getting up and leaving. She comes across very badly running those press conferences every day, sure, but I think those press conferences are a joke. The way I see it ... if Trump won't come to update the media on stuff, then just don't have the daily pressers. Who needs some spokesperson spouting how Trump allegedly feels about stuff. Very worthless to me. That'd be like Bob Knight sending some third assistant to his press conferences when he was head coach ... oh wait he did used to do that.
  17. I wonder if Hawk was ill. Great win. I imagine the Moncada naysayers (there aren't many) feel silly. The guy is a talent. I'll give Hahn credit for getting him in that trade. And my gawd. Palka's home run was hard to believe. Watch the replay. It was a fricking laser beam. There has to be room for that guy in our future. Work with him, sox. He can hit. Next year will be his age 27 season. No spring chicken especially to the age-niks, but again. That HR was KILLED. Always nice to see Avi get a hit. He's having such a bad year compared to last year's multi-hitfest. And of course our starting pitcher. So happy to see him dominate. Some nights the Sox show some promise. Many they don't. GO SOX!
  18. Wow Historic Downtown Lexington Virginia put out a statement concerning the actions of the Red Hen restaurant owner. Interesting that one person can bring so much publicity to a town. This restaurant owner has opened herself up to boycotts and stuff like that. So she needs to put out a statement. Will they serve any Trump supporters at all? Or will they only deny "famous" Trump supporters. Are all Republicans denied service or again, just "famous" Republicans? HERE IT IS: "We do not condone the actions of Stephanie Wilkinson, owner of the Red Hen Restaurant and Director of Main Street Lexington. The negative impact and nasty backlash towards our little community is downright appalling. Please do not condemn our town for one persons actions. To The People, Mr. President Trump & Secretary Sarah Sanders we sincerely apologize for the poor behavior and decision of ONE PERSON! If you feel the need to express your negative comments, please re-direct them to Stephanie Wilkinson directly. Thank You Lexington's downtown is a thriving collection of shops and restaurants housed in restored buildings with brick sidewalks and old fashioned lantern street lamps that serve the many visitors and tourists that come here all year long. Enjoy this short video highlighting some of the many great places to visit."
  19. David Bossie ... what were you thinking? Latest to say something very bad and be out of the public eye forevermore. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/david-bossie-joel-payne-cotton-picking-mind_us_5b2fa4dfe4b0321a01d22bb2
  20. Well, this story had its 20 minutes of fame and is gone. Hmmm ... the celebrities who have had their careers end over dumb Tweets and statements must be sighing at De Niro not only surviving this but being congratulated for it. Blasting out the F bomb over Trump on TV and a live audience and it wasn't even bleeped in Australia. Yet he's beloved for his stance because it was against Trump. So if Hillary had been president and a celeb said, "F--k Hillary" imagine the outrage.
  21. He's not going to last the four years. Anybody who colluded with Russia on anything should be considered evil. Just think how scary your sentence is "they definitely hacked the election." For Russia to be able to hack our election makes me have a sick feeling in my stomach like they are laughing at us behind closed doors and actually may have plotted how to take over the U.S./world someday. It's creepy to know they hacked our election and they are watching us and have infiltrated us. If Trump can be ousted over this, start the proceedings baby.
  22. If Sanders broke the law, arrest her. But I see no difference between this and the case of the baker not baking the cake. The difference is in the reaction. People think it's OK even heroic of the restaurant owner to deny Sanders and her family over political beliefs. If this was a somebody on the left getting denied or a minority family, the restaurant might have to close its doors from bad publicity and protests. Sanders should have used her own twitter account to blast the restaurant further. But if she broke the law tweeting, then arrest her ASAP and let her have her day in court. Meanwhile, she should sue the restaurant owner promptly. Where's the outrage for Sanders' little kids BTW? What did they do to get denied food? Poor little kids had to experience the ugliness of life in being shown the door. Legally I think it's OK for the baker to deny the couple their cake and OK for the restaurant owner to kick the Sanders family to the curb because of freedom of expression, but I do think if there's outrage over the baker there should be equal outrage here.
  23. OMG did you see the great Ben Shapiro's tweet tonight? Folks, there is a genius on soxtalk named Greg. I posted mine way before his Tweet. Ben Shapiro‏Verified account @benshapiro @benshapiro 1. It's terrible if a Christian baker won't use his services for the benefit of a same-sex wedding. 2. It's awesome if a Leftist restaurant order refuses service to a Republican public official. Pick one.
  24. They cared about the cake story for years. Same denial of service. But nobody cares cause everybody hates Trump and everybody associated with Trump.
