  1. Listen to that first inning when we got 3 runs. Benetti was fabulous. Please listen and report back to Greg. Thank u.
  2. What a small crowd. It's pretty obvious only the die-hards attend games. 15,000 or so I'd say.
  3. Jason and Stoney remain a great duo. I wonder if Hawk ever listens and thinks, "Damn. Stone Pony is WAY better with somebody besides grumpy ol me."
  4. Easy. It's difficult to hit a baseball. May be hardest thing in sports. That homer was crushed.
  5. This is all kind of scary. I know NK is one of the worst dictatorships ever and Jong-Un is the devil. I don't have time to look it up. Can anybody quickly list some of the things they do to their people that are evil? I know this country is the dregs and we shouldn't be celebrating all this crap with them. It's good nuclear war has allegedly been postponed over us kissy-facing NK but I don't trust Kim Jong-Un as far as I can catapault him. Educate me quickly. Thanx.
  6. Soria is still Soria. I just can't see any GM risking bringing him aboard. He can become miserable again in an instant. Jones? Why would a team want to mess with his injury-prone-ness? They might take him if we release him but why trade for Nate Jones? Makes little sense for a contender. Finally Avilan? I guess I'll succumb and trust you he's worth something.
  7. I think it's safe to say you will get little to NOTHING for Jones, Soria and Avilan (I mean get real) and nothing for Shields and very little for Santiago. These are not stars, folks. Who the hell is going to ship us anything for these guys. I mean if you released Soria, Shields and Santiago would anybody want them?? Would anybody even want Jones and his funky delivery and certainty to be hurt again if he's used a lot? Why mess with that?? I don't know nuff about Avilan or Cedeno to have an opinion.
  8. So you are saying they struggle to pick the right free agents. But you trust them to pick the right players in the draft. Hmmm. You think free agency is a crapshoot; what about the draft? So they are incompetent picking free agents but they'll be better at the draft?? (Burger, Madrigal? Rodon? Hmmm).
  9. Serious question: Will Rodman be up for Nobel peace prize?
  10. Stone is such a pleasure to listen to without Hawk. He does love baseball, even a wretched team like the Sox, and does a great job. And Jason IMO is good, too.
  11. Thank you. Thank you. By the way, this game is hella boring!
  12. People say I repeat myself on here, but that's life. Think of ALL the pundits who day after day after day say the SAME things about Trump. We get it. He blows. Now get him impeached or lay off.
  13. Cause about 50 percent of the time my position differs with theirs. That's a fairly high rate of disagreement.
  14. To be fair, we're not exactly great on the road either. It's just a bad team. Coop has prevented it from being a total disaster cause the pitching has been a bit better of late.
  15. You guys are overreacting re. Moncada. I know greg repeats himself a lot, but Moncada is the real deal. He's got the weapons (tools) for sure. Why does he struggle? Maybe cause it's hard to 100 percent be there every night when each game means nothing. Relax. Rate him and Timmy when the games matter. Let him play ball now and enjoy the highlights. He's the real deal. Who cares how he does now? He's still gonna have enuf great games he'll have the numbers at the end.
  16. Just because Trump has said bad stuff doesn't mean others should do the same. Foul language is not good in the presence of kids IMO.
  17. Scoots I like your posts. You make sense here.
  18. My thoughts on De Niro: Great great actor. Can do drama and comedy equally. Even have enjoyed him on talk shows. But should now be banned from all appearances at awards shows and on CBS. Unacceptable language for kids. My thoughts on Trump: a.) One of the most egotistical individuals to ever walk the planet. b.) The kind of guy you would NEVER EVER want to work for or socialize with. c.) Somebody who you can tell does not relate or like the middle class and below. Has no concern about anybody below his social/economic status. d.) I hate to call him evil or not a good person, but I think my gut feeling of his not being a good person is a true synopsis of him. e.) totally self centered; cares about his own wallet and his own pleasure (the Stormy thing; other things with women) more than anything else. Now he may care about his family and the USA, but definitely after his wallet and own pleasure. Kind of like all rich guys. ... I hope I'm forgiven for saying he appears to not be a good person. That said ... I am against constant public blasting of Trump by folks on TV and folks in Hollywood. I can root for the economy to improve under his leadership, yes I can. However his disdain for proper health care for me and all Americans who are not rich makes me follow only one politician for 2020: Bernie Sanders. Finally my new hero, along with Jesse Ventura (and Bernie of course), is Joe Rogan. I like his interviews. p.s. You may hate me and what I stand for, but I contend I'm more open than most on here. I am a Republican but I voted for Obama once. I love Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter and did not vote for Trump. I'd say I am independent but hate to give myself that title.
  19. Yep. So wouldn't you agree he's worth 15 mill a year for 4 years? If anybody wants to pay more than that, shake his hand and say, "Thanx for the memories." I guess you could add a year as long as it's not more than 15 a year.
  20. Coop has made it work of late. He's a genius baby.
  21. Hope you are right. He's looked pretty damn good of late. Hate to see him pitch a full season of 96 mph fastballs in 2019 when the team blows.
  22. Correct. It's obvious Hahn is stalling. He's got one more chip. AAA. He'll stall as long as possible moving him to AAA, and when he does, he'll tell Eloy, 'son we just want to make the natural progression. Your big league debut is coming (next year; or maybe September call ups)." Remember, you don't want to anger Eloy. And he can't get upset about spending some time in AAA. Hahn just has to stall as long as possible moving him to AAA.
  23. Why would any team pay retail for a mid 30s slugger in today's mlb? Are the Sox the only 'smart' team in baseball? If everybody shares these same concerns about aging players, what would make a team pay 4/25 for an old guy like Abreu? He's 4 years 15 mill a year, case closed. He ain't getting more than that in today's environment. Again ... Sox fans on here demand we pay no more than that (that's probably even too much money for most on here right?) so what team is gonna give him 20 mill a year for 4-5 years?? That's apparently not what teams do nowadays. 4 years, 15 mill a year, finish it now.
  24. Geez. According to what you wrote, we never should draft a guy with that agent. If there's zero hope of keeping a guy, even one as average as Rodon, WTF? Just stay away from all Boras guys in the future.
  25. Coop truly is the best in the business. If he can get that collection of arms to have a 2.08 ERA over a two week period, he truly is the best. I am skeptical however that it can continue at all. Soria has had something like 4 good outings in a row and he's incapable of any more than that for sure. The rest of those guys are just bodies. Coop has again proven his value. He should have a lifetime contract. He also should be our next manager IMO. He's grumpy and that would be entertaining as well. All that media access would drive him truly insane.
