  1. I personally would bake a cake for anybody (I might not do it for a hardened criminal), but I'm thinking if the baker's religion said it was a no no, the couple probably should go somewhere else and not even give that particular baker their money.
  2. I know if my bakery made it clear they didn't want my business I'd say frick you and go to another bakery. There are a lot of bakeries.
  3. I thought they would sell the cake, they just wouldn't write the words of congratulations on the cake.
  4. Thanks for hating on me and being so unwelcoming.
  5. I don't mind reading differing opinions about matters.
  6. What's wrong with differing opinions? It would have to be boring with you guys agreeing with each other all the time. Tell me your opinion of that case. Why is it right to make the bakers do something they don't want to do if it's against their religious beliefs? What's more the commission mocked the guy for his religious beliefs. "Just bake the cake bud!" ... If the couple couldn't get the cake anywhere else and it wrecked the wedding, I might be more sympathetic. But again ... if you mess with the chefs, food servers will tell you you may not like what you get as the final product.
  7. Couldn't they just have bought the cake somewhere else? If this baker has religious beliefs that forbid him writing "congratulations happy couple' on the cake is that such a big deal? Couldn't they buy the cake somewhere else? Forgive me for taking a lighthearted attitude toward this. But in this case I always think about food and how you need to be careful offending servers. That movie where they put weird stuff in the food after customers complain? If this baker is religious he probably wouldn't damage the food, but he could have agreed to bake the cake and put gross stuff in it if he wanted. Or he coulda mis-spelled some words on the cake and just claimed he's a bad speller. If somebody doesn't want to sell you a product, why not just go elsewhere? Maybe I'm way off base here. I haven't read enough about the case I guess. I just always think, "Don't mess with people who are cooking your food; baking your cakes. You don't know what's gonna be in the final product." I even told the guy I was dining with the other day to NOT complain about the appetizers that sucked until after we get our main course.
  8. I can root for Gio. Hope he makes it. He had a nice step one tonight.
  9. Fans of the rebuild will give EVERY benefit of the doubt to the guys we've acquired in trades. That is part of how great it is to be a GM doing a complete rebuild.
  10. You guys are nuts. Stone and Bennetti are so cordial with each other they are a delightful broadcast team. These 2 guys are giving us a fine broadcast. Bennetti forever!
  11. Smith at catcher could be the key. How many pitches has Gio thrown? One more inning, baby and he gets a gatorade shower. Gio is back baby!
  12. Just think if Gio can get six more outs minus a run. It would be an amazing DH for starting pitchers. Kudos to Lopez for allowing one hit. Suck it up Gio. Have yourself a ballgame.
  13. His fastball doesn't explode ... yet
  14. I won't make fun of anybody, not making fun of Burger. Just saying he was a chubby third baseman from Missouri State. Poor guy has his work cut out.
  15. Gio has a chance to have a quality start. Nice.
  16. Fathom said it so he must feel that somewhere in his brain: Lack of a superstar at 4. I have nothing against Mr. Madrigal and Mr. Walker and Pilkington (top three picks are the ones that yu have expectations for) and I wish them well and hope they are great. But the Sox make it easy for anti-draftniks like me every year. Last year they take a Missouri State ballplayer at No. 1 for goshsakes (again I wish him well in his recovery; I'd buy him 10 beers if I could) and this year, tell me why greg shouldn't yawn. This isn't meant to be negative. Again I take the draft for what it is and hope our first 2 picks do well. Like I said I want Ws. But the biggest W ... you tell me W(hy) I should be doing handstands and want to sacrifice wins for No. 4 pick overall?
  17. I hate discussions of a player's weakness when it is shrugged off by saying other players make up for that. Other players IMO have nothing to do with Madrigal. Judge him on his own skill set. It's silly to say he has an absence of power (a negative) and shrug it off by saying we'll have other players supply the power. Who cares about that? Heaven forbid the other guys get injured or something. If Madrigal's lack of power is a problem it's a problem.
  18. I'm glad you guys all love Davidson now. I worshiped him last year as well.
  19. I'm surprised after yet another yawn of a draft people continue to clamor for draft picks over W's. Give me W's baby.
  20. What would be wild is what you were kidding me about. I'm surprised you can't go back and forth in a gender neutral zone or whatever you called it. If you re-read your post that faked me out, it was something I could totally see being legal. Flip flopping back and forth. You lost me a bit when you mentioned getting promoted faster as a woman, then getting in line for the restroom as a man. Anyhow your fake post was kind of genius for 2018. I could see it.
  21. Sports and politics mixing so much is kind of divisive. Not gonna change with Trump in office unfortunately. It's probably best the teams don't go visit. Just think if they visited the White House and snubbed Trump while on the grounds? Or gave speeches blasting Trump, etc. Even more divisive.

Sox have been so bad defensively throughout modern history with a few exceptions. I guess the 05 team was pretty good defensively. Don't know about 59. The 77 team might have been one of the best in baseball history if it could catch the ball.
  23. Hey where u live on south side. I'm a Brother Rice dude.
  24. Wow I did get faked out. I admit I believed rabbit. I was confused, though. Cheers. I got duped.

Palka's last homer vs the Brewers was one of the hardest hit balls I've seen in a while. Watch the guy in the stands. The ball was uncatchable and it was deep in rf stands. He's intriguing.
