7/18 vs KC Royals
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 10:47 PM) Cain is so annoying. He's the reason the Royals are my least favorite team to play. He catches everything. As usual, the other team knows where to play our guys even our new guys. That's a bloop hit against Eaton in center.

Royals announcers status quo broadcast: Praise the Royals. Tout the upcoming homestand every other pitch. Mock the opponent. I tell you it's refreshing to have Hawk and Stoney. They don't resort to the boring cliche telecasts of praising their own team no matter what is happening on the field and cheap shots at the opposition while saying how to get tickets for the homestand.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 10:45 PM) They're allowed but annoying for the people around them I can see that with the water splashing off 'em. I'd head to a concourse with my umbrella.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 10:42 PM) People expect the Sox to lose with Sale going tomorrow? That's news to me. I considered one win out of 4 the best possible scenario for Sox this weekend.

Are umbrellas allowed at the ballpark? That'd suck IMO to get soaked while watching a game.

If the Sox lose 3 of 4 as most everybody expected, do the trades begin? Or not.

Little surprised Robin left in Duke to face Perez. He should have whacked a bases clearing double that would have turned it into a rout. Were no righties left besides Robertson? It was like Robin conceding this one again knowing we can't hit KC's back of the bullpen guys.

Rehab trio update
I feel sorry for Crain. He keeps having setbacks. His arm must really hurt. He should retire. Nothing's worth having a bum arm the rest of his life. Ptatc can this affect his pain quotient in his arm the rest of his life if he keeps trying to pitch?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) Petricka's had a very good year. Don't say that he doesn't do his job and s*** because of one outing. Not to be a dick, but it's inevitable anyway. We don't win games like this vs. KC.

What's with all the rain this summer?? Crazy s***. It seems like every Royals game in KC has had threat of a storm for about a month straight now.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) I'm sorry but Tyler Flowers sucks. I can't believe how many posts I've seen in the past week or so saying catching isn't a gigantic problem. I don't care where we currently rank in terms of catcher OPS, because had you looked at the end of May we'd be near the bottom. Flowers had a good June where he finally hit some home runs and brought his overall offensive numbers to respectability, but anyone thinking this was anything but a hot streak will be fooling themselves. We saw the same thing last year, wait until the end of the season and the numbers will be garbage as usual. We're stuck with him for now, but Hahn definitely needs to find a better starting catcher than Flowrrs before next season. Sox pitchers getting beat up pretty good today. Flowers isn't that bad, folks. He is average. He is what he is. There are a lot of terrible catchers out there.

Sox still only got 3 runs off Guthrie. Not enough on a day Fathom could have hit a double off Guthrie.

Great at bats by many players. You know it's going bad (LaRoche) when you pop it up against this stiff Guthrie (Chen).

I think Q should have put a ball in the middle of Hosmer's back.

Saladino is so hot it's amazing. If the Sox send him down there may be a riot outside the Cell. With all these other lousy players he's a breath of fresh air.

7/18 vs KC Royals
If we had anybody besides Abreu who could elevate and hit a home run we'd be winning a rare blowout today. Guthrie throws meat.

7/18 vs KC Royals
Nice to hit line drives against this total hack, total stiff Guthrie! Way to put the ball in play.

Shuck missed a cookie there. Royals have a lot of average arms in the starting rotation. Great bullpen arms, though.

I think Sox are bad judges of talent. Before they signed LaRoche I wish they'd looked at the way he hits. That open stance is a joke. Even if he does hit the ball in play he's out because of the shift. His ONLY chance is a home run and he has no power. Anybody who studies his batting stance and his age would come to the conclusion "Don't sign LaRoche."

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) Most pitchers don't hit a guy to load the bases. Exactly, but people used to walk Miggy in ANY instance. Same with Pujols in his prime. Would you want to face Abreu or LaRoche?? LaRoche is so bad it's laughable. I think he hit him on purpose. Also Volquez got beat up pretty good last night on those liners up the box.
-
7/18 vs KC Royals
Wow Royals are headhunting again. Are they getting even for us bashing the ball up the middle off Volquez three times last night? You don't want to pitch to Abreu with LaRoche next even with men on base. LaRoche is that bad.

7/18 vs KC Royals
Good for Melky to put the ball in play against a hack like Guthrie. Going with the pitch can be fun.

The Royals announcers are analyzing Rios from a technical standpoint in the outfield. It's not physical, announcers. Rios has been stealing money for years. He loafs, pure and simple. Man, he's stolen a lot of money from teams during his less than stellar career.

Shooting in CO at Batman premiere
I thought most of you were against the death penalty so I softened my stance. I wouldn't mind him getting death, but I can also see the pain in getting one hour of sunlight a day for 60 years while realizing there's pretty much nothing you can do about it. I bet Holmes is scared to death (no pun intended) about what's ahead! Death or 60 years of prison!

The Democrat Thread
I know many (most) of you love Hillary as much as I love Danks/Buehrle and Ozzie but Cal Thomas captured how I feel about Hilly perfectly. I can't believe he's not fired for saying she's running on her gender. I'd think in this PC world that's a no-no. But Cal pointed out Hillary's flaws here and expressed how "boring" she is as well. http://calthomas.com/columns/boring
