Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 12:31 AM) Well this post is ridiculous. I want to know how many pitchers available tonight pitched on Saturday. Probably half or more. What a fricking joke. White Sox are very very disappointing organization. If Sale truly is mad there should be some articles in the Trib on this!

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 12:34 AM) So did Sale. Unfortunate. I hope Sale is so pissed at Cooper and Ventura for making a big deal out of this. He should be FURIOUS. He knows his body. This team is four under and KC 18 over. Yeah that's sure a big series coming up ... NOT. Sale should be so mad at this joke of an organization. Pitching Saturday then Tuesday is a big deal??? Why not just shut him down a month so he doesn't get hurt?

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) If White Sox management did not want Sale to pitch, they should have "excused " him from the roster. If a guy goes to the game, he should want to participate, not go and be a cheerleader. The manager should try and play as many players as possible. Exactly. You guys get your wish. A White Sox player won't be playing in the all-star game. I think now I've heard everything. Royals fans are going delirious over watching tonight's game and all their players. We Sox fans don't want our one guy to play. My gosh I've never seen anything like this. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 10:31 PM) Good news! Congrats to you guys who don't want a Sox player in the game. Unfricking-believable to me. I remember as a kid going crazy in happiness when a Sox player entered the game, especially if it was a pitcher facing a Cub or vice versa. Crazy many of you were freaking out about one inning. Sale should never have clogged up a roster spot. He pitched on Saturday! Horrors he might go an inning on Tuesday.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) I know Ned Yost would be pretty happy to miss Chris Sale. Pitching him gives him a chance at that happening. Even if they White Sox lose 100 games, you never know if facing Sale vs. not facing him is a 1 game difference in KC's overall record, and how perhaps what that one game difference means to the Royals at the end of the season. I think you guys are insane, truly nuts. Since when did we start not wanting our guys to play in All Star games and think the manager has some agenda?? This is Chris Sale. He should pitch in the darn all star game and I WANT him to pitch desperately not rest. My gosh, the Royals are 18 over .500 and we are 4 under. They could drop 15 in a row and still beat the Sox out. The Royals will take 3 of 4 by just showing up at the Cell. Yost isn't fretting about Chris Sale. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 07:12 PM) Dude, you're just wrong on this. The Sox relative threat to the Royals is irrelevant. Sale has a winning record on this lousy team - how does that happen? Royals haven't wrapped up jack. So Ned Yost is plotting some effort to make sure Sale doesn't face his team?? Makes absolutely no sense. It's more of a slap to the Sox if Sale doesn't pitch. They can sell the series, "LETS SHOW YOST!! SALE SHOULD HAVE PITCHED!! HES ONE OF THE BEST AND HE GOT OVERLOOKED By YOST. MUST HAVE BEEN BECAUSE OF THE FIGHT EARLIER THIS SEASON!" QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 07:12 PM) Trust me, you have no idea what you are talking about Yost is not thinking about the White Sox impending series and Chris Sale. Cmon. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 07:21 PM) This is baseball, the lousy teams still win more than 40% of the time (and this year the Sox have won 47%), bad teams win series against good teams all the time, and the Sox won the last series the two teams played. The idea that a team would look past another team when they are a division rival and have a pitcher like Sale is one of the most ridiculous things I've read. The Royals haven't clinched anything yet. The idea Yost is plotting to make sure Sale can't face the Sox is pretty dumb. I mean we are talking about the White Sox here, the lousy, anemic White Sox. It's a total snub if Sale doesn't pitch tonight. Not Yost in some sinister plot. The guy pitched on Saturday. Today is Tuesday for gosh sakes. 1-2 innings tonight.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) It has nothing to do with "being afraid of the White Sox". He has a 4 game series vs. the White Sox and Sale pitching the All Star Game may mean he doesn't have to face him which gives KC a better chance of winning a game. That isn't just the White Sox who would benefit, but each team in the division. It is probably very rare to have a 4 game series vs. Chicago and miss Sale. Maybe he won't, but Robin did mention perhaps holding Sale back until Tuesday if he did pitch. Trust me. Nobody is concerned about an advantage in a series against a lousy sox team. Hope sale gets the win tonite

Post All-Star Game Rotation
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 01:17 AM) Danks has to pitch at some point though. Who cares if it's Friday night? They want to give Sale extra rest. I thought it was a four game series. I want Sale, Shark, Q and Rodon.

What will Sox front office do ?
QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 04:18 AM) I think they should sell. We've seen this movie, there isn't a second half comeback. Sell off Shark, LaRoche, Cabrera, Ramirez, Robertson, anyone who isn't the obvious (sale, q, eaton, rodon, etc.). Exactly. We have seen this movie and I love your post. TRADE 'em all.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
This is crazy. Yost is not scared of the White Sox for goshsakes and not scared of Sale pitching for the White Sox. Sale happens to be a helluva pitcher and if I were the manager of the AL I'd f***ing want to pitch him as well. This is stupid. The Royals own the White sox no matter who is pitching. Why the hell would Yost care about the White Sox this weekend? Even if KC dropped all four, they'd be way ahead of the pathetic White Sox. I don't mind discussion but this one is just dumb. Yost is manager of the AL team and Sale is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. Of course he SHOULD pitch Tuesday. As a Sox fan and viewing I WANT him to pitch in the all star game.

Post All-Star Game Rotation
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) If they wait til Tuesday for Sale, it will feel like a "really, we'd rather not maintain a charade of competing, and would like to do some selling" kind of move. I agree. Can any person convince me why it is a good idea to pitch Danks in Game Two of that DH? What you do is go with Shark and Sale and see if just maybe you can stick it up the Royals' backsides and win the DH. Now you are guaranteeing a loss in Game Two and one of their lefties just might connect off Shark. You are right, though. It ultimately is a charade, we don't have the team this year. I did think we might want to go with our top guns one final series to see if we can knock off the Royals and maybe contend for a WC. This is such a dumb move, I do question the common sense of Coop/Robin. And this is coming from a Danks lover like me. I truly love the guy.

Jay Bruce
QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) Avi has proven a pretty useless major league piece at this point. He is weak hitting, atrocious fielding corner outfielder who doesnt walk and strikes out a bunch. He has been below replacement level for his career thus far. I would rather have the "proven veteran" with the 100 pt higher ISO manning a position that requires you to be a power hitter. Not saying you are wrong, but I didn't realize Avi stunk this much. Is he this big a disaster or are you exaggerating?

Post All-Star Game Rotation
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 05:37 PM) Of course I hate what they're actually doing. Samardzija, Danks on Friday Quintana on Saturday Sale or Rodon Sunday (TBD) Very dumb. As much as I do love Danks, I concede that is an automatic loss in Game Two Friday. Why would you throw Danks there?? It makes absolutely no sense. I agree with the poster. The Sox are basically in a position they have to sweep the Royals or grudgingly win 3 of the 4 to have any shot at contention this season. So why wouldn't you give it your best shot, at home! You go Sale, Shark, Q, Rodon. I worship John Danks but I do concede he is our fifth starter!! This is a no brainer. Fire whoever came up with this decision NOW! Coop, Robin or Hahn. Stupid.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 05:53 PM) If it keeps him from pitching the Royals series, it's a very smart move. I'm sure Yost is afraid of Sale in the 4-game series, lol.

Jay Bruce
I'd trade Melky and LaRoche for Bruce, nobody else except guys like Beckham and Boni and Conor and nobody wants those stiffs.

White Sox call up Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) He's started to see how he does in case they trade some of the others as well as to give other starters rest. RV obviously doesn't care for Bonifacio's play for some reason. The problem is Boni is making good money like Keppinger was, right? It's tough to release guys making a few bucks. I bet Saladino does go down. I'd prefer simply releasing either Beckham or Boni. Either one. Release one of the two.

What will Sox front office do ?
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 09:11 PM) The 4 game series at home against KC after the ASB should give the Sox one last chance to show they can do better within the division since that will probably be the key to moving up in the standings . Exactly. If KC wins 3 or 4 I'd expect the Sox to act immediately ... finally in terms of trade(s). QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 10:49 PM) don't expect as much of a return this year. He only has 1/2 a year for the next team. We should have traded him 3 weeks ago. The fact he has only 1/2 a year or less is the Sox's fault. With our luck, they'll go 2-2 against KC somehow and think they're in the WC race. Actually there's no way they can split with KC so it'll be interesting to see what happens after the 1-3 or 0-4 series. QUOTE (jdupps @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 11:28 PM) I expect the SOX to stand pat until July 27th. By that time the KC,STL, and Clev series should make it pretty clear whether they have a shot this year or not. They will plan for both buying or selling during the next couple weeks. They are waiting too long if they wait for all 3 series. I guess if they split with KC they could be forgiven by most fans for staying pat a little longer, but I want action. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 12:10 AM) What they should do is sell high on Shark before Friday. What they will do is overpay for a dead veteran. I think you are right. Like one poster said the offense is too lousy to be a WC contender. I have a sneaky feeling Saladino is not more than a .200 MLB hitter just like our second baseman.

Sox were really dumb to reinvent the offense without any home run threats, despite Jose.

White Sox call up Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 07:51 AM) So the plan is for him to go back down after the double header on friday? That would be a shame I think it would be, too, cause he appears to be a slick fielder. He actually should have 3 hits, not one. I just wish they'd keep him and cut Conor. Sox fans have been so sickened by the defense, we actually like seeing the improved D of late.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 03:06 AM) Yes, I think she has a media problem...and it's people like you who are the reason that problem exists. People like you who are poised to believe the worst about her no matter what, not because of anything other than how it feels. People like you are way too poised to believe the worst about her based on innuendo and rumor and then ignore the racist rants by the people you're thrilled about for their "honesty", and there's a giant community of media happy to sell you that. They'll look at everything she says with a fine toothed comb and then when your beloved Trump goes on a completely BS rant about how people who look different than you are all criminals you get to just say "oh that's just the media selling Hillary" when he's called on it. I think Trump thinks there's a problem with people crossing the borders and he truly thinks many of the people crossing are bad actors. He said he's sure some/many of them are good people. I'm not completely sold on Trump, I just like the fact he talks real talk and doesnt back down. The PC police always come out swinging and some of these people who make one mistake, one comment that is blown out of proportion, have their lives ruined. I like when guys like Trump/Limbaugh basically say, "f*** you. I said it and you are exaggerating it." As far as Hillary, I don't like her. If she changes my opinion in coming months, then good for her. I do not think the media is after her, because I believe the media has a bias for Democrats/liberals and they despise Republicans.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 02:29 AM) Which of course ignores "Words coming out of the journalists mouths", but anyway That article was bogus and you probably know it. Show me some more. Are you honestly going to tell me Hilary has a media problem BEFORE the election? Tell me, "I Balta think Hillary is getting a bad shake from the media and it figures to hurt her campaign." You can't believe that. Sure when she's in office they'll try to nail her to the wall especially if she plays mean with the media. It's going to be hard for her to hide her (allegedly) b-itxxx personality if she gets elected and has to deal with the media daily.
-
The Democrat Thread
I just don't agree with that article. YES most definitely the media want to bring down Hillary ONCE she is in the oval office as first woman president. They have no interest in bringing her down now before the election. Look nobody can deny the media abhor Republicans. They do not want a Republican president and will make sure Hilly gets the nod. Once she is in, sure they'd love to go after her and finally get her for good. There's no way the media can be considered a problem for Hilly before the election. The media despises Republicans, I'm sure Balta would agree with that.

White Sox call up Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 01:34 AM) If Saladino is here to stay, it'll be interesting to see who's dropped If he's here to stay I'd release Conor. Beckham and Boni might be a little more useful than Conor.

GT: White Sox (40-44) vs. Scrubs (46-39) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 11:54 PM) If the Cubs are the 5th best team in the NL, then the Sox would definitely be in contention in the NL. No way of telling. The Sox were miserable for so long they wouldn't have beaten anybody playing like that. They still are a pathetic hitting team and up to the last few games have sucked on defense. There's no way to believe in this team until it does it. I mean if the Sox lose tomorrow and start the second half by losing 3 or 4 to KC, they will be the same lousy team they've been a majority of the season. If they win Sunday and take all 4 from KC eyebrows can finally be raised.
-
Sox Winner!!!
Excellent win in all phases. Has to be really irritating/demoralizing for Cub fans since the Sox have been a non-entity all season and the Cubs have been all about Bryant/Madden, how great they are gonna be, etc. Good to see the Sox play like big leaguers. Making the routine plays helps defensively. Don't forget Avi's nice catch today early in right field. That was a shot and he really did make a nice catch on it. That catch meant a lot.

GT: White Sox (40-44) vs. Scrubs (46-39) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
Well, it's official. There have been some highlights in our miserable season. Good job again today, Sox. Pretty much a Sox buttkicking and we all LOVE that.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 11:46 PM) Don't shoot the messenger, but I heard Buddy Bell today and it doesn't sound like they have plans to bring Micah Johnson back anytime soon. That's fine. You all have been scaring me about Micah's defense. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 11:49 PM) Listening to Bell talk is depressing. He should be gone, do not get the love affair for him. Not here. I despise him. It's why I didn't want Robin fired. Buddy would have taken over.
