  1. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 03:01 AM) I've been a big LaRoche defender all year but the last month or so he's been absolutely brutal. I wonder if he's had this batting stance his whole career. It seems a really ridiculous approach to hitting the baseball. With the defense putting all their defenders on the side of the field he hits the baseball, he's not going to get many hits besides ones over the fence.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:59 AM) Ha, LaRoche freaking sucks. You know it's bad when if you could void the contracts for LaRoche, Melky and Robertson, you absolutely would and let them sign elsewhere. It's like that with almost all free agents. ... Shields, Verlander, Fielder (before this year), Pujols (before this year), etc. Nobody's worth the cash. The key if baseball woulda done it is identify guys who will be stars (Salvy Perez types) and sign them for 4-5 years at 7 mill a year early in their careers.
  3. Not even worth blasting LaRoche. I'm sure he's a nice enough guy. Seriously, why not shave if you are LaLob? Switch it up.
  4. Avi drops one in there. Hits like that show he does have potential. I'm not in the Avi sucks category yet.
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:46 AM) I mean Robertson didn't make a bad pitch there. Molina just made a contact and voila! Bases clearing triple. LaRoche coulda made the same contact with two men on base and the Sox up, 2-0. FAIL.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:34 AM) Danks pitched great tonight....happy? Yes! Thank you.
  7. Professional hitter! He hit it where it was pitched, unlike our guys. Sox had tons of chances to make this game a rout, but Sox are worst team in the AL (by season's end). Embarrassing. Nice hit by the Cardinal. Our guys of course won't hit like that. Won't stroke the ball where it's pitched! Sox gonna lose again, lol.
  8. Tough crowd. I've waited and waited and except for Heads, no positive comments about Danks. You guys have proven you are one, tough set of message board fans. I have players I despise, but I give credit when it's due, like saying Melky had a nice slash hit tonight for the RBI.
  9. I assume Sanchez was trying to do something there besides hit a pop fly to center. Let's just face it, we have one of the worst set of hitters and probably the worst hitting coach in the AL.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:21 AM) So who will take Danks' spot in the rotation after he's traded in the next ten days for a top prospect? No team in baseball has that kinda money to pay a No. 4, 5 starter. I assume you were kidding, but no green.
  11. Tyler is overmatched again at the plate during this recent stretch. Begs the question, is catcher too tough a position to expect a player to hit more than .220? I am thinking it's too tough. Sal Perez is in a severe slump. No catchers are hitters over the course of a season anymore. Sad. If Soto played 130 games he'd hit .150. Tyler will hit about .190 to .210.
  12. Yes! Petricka battled back. Another close game cause LaRoche didn't quite get enough of that last fly ball. Time to suck it up and win this baby, 2-0.
  13. A relief pitcher HAS to throw strikes. FAIL Mr. Petricka!
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:58 AM) We're not pulling him after 83 pitches, but I agree, you do kind of go into protect mode with him here if he runs into any trouble. YES! A standing ovation for Mr. Danks. Great, great performance. 6 2/3 innings. One man on first base with two outs. If our reliever can't get out of this, it's on him. John Danks ... give him applause and don't blame him just cause he makes a lot of money.
  15. That's where a home run by LaRoche woulda ended the game. Warning track power, baby.
  16. Nice hit by Melky and running by Saladino. This is where you guys need to blame Robin if something happens bad to Danks in the 7th. Danks has already done his job. He's still rebuilding his career after the injury. If this was the Royals they'd be thrilled with the 6 innings and give him a shower. Robin should get somebody up. He really should. IF Danks looks shaky after TWO batters in the 7th, yank him. He's already done a helluva job. What happens sometimes is he'll get rocked in the 7th and you guys will act like Danks had a s*** outing. It's all on Robin the rest of ths game regarding Danks. You got six stellar innings from him. You may get more but if you don't, bail the guy out for gosh sakes. DANKS!
  17. Nice hit. Damn your guys' feed is way ahead of my mlb tonight.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:47 AM) Would you agree that Tyler's batting style is probably more sustainable for a nice average than Phegley? Just based on the eye test if nothing else? Didn't like that at bat, but overall the eye test is very positive. He looks relaxed both offensively and defensively. I wish he'd shot one between first and second there.
  19. 3-1 pitch and Eaton does nothing with it. It's what's wrong with our team. Shoulda took it for ball four if he wasn't going to slam it! However, he gets the walk anyway! Nice job, but ...
  20. How come you guys don't root for Danks like I do? Not trying to be a dick, just wondering. He seems to be a likeable guy to me. And I can GUARANTEE you he leaves it all on the field.
  21. I didn't realize Avi stinks. I'm not being sarcastic. I trust you guys who have given up on him. It's a shame because he "looks" like a player, a hitter. Very sad if he's another Viciedo. Speaking of Dayan ... how's he hitting in the minors? Is he making a decent comeback?
  22. Our hitters miss more cookies ... Flowers right there. I guess it's cause they are lousy hitters.
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:28 AM) I'm pretty sure if he thought he could do it, he would. He's not trying to be awful. He's not trying to be lousy, I agree. However, there are ways to adjust your stance through work. He needs to remake his offensive approach now that his power has sagged.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:27 AM) Fact he had two strikes makes it no issue, as he's just trying to make contact True, but why can't he steer it to the left side? Easy answer. He doesn't want to.
  25. I'd fine LaRoche for hitting into the shift on a 3-2 pitch, but that's just me. Hit it the other way and he's on base, baby.
