  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 04:21 AM) Not ready. Bad situation to bring him in. Get his ass back to Charlotte for 8 starts, and then talk. And Robin stinks. Exactly. I mean this whole idea of limiting his innings is stupid. I mean, it's like the Sox are afraid they are going to make the playoffs and have to shut him down like Washington did with Strasburg. Send him down and have him start games in the minors. Period. As far as his performance, he was no good tonight. Do I blame him? No. It was his debut. He got hit hard (that double off the top of the wall) and was wild and stunk. The whole situation reeked though. Why did he have to come in tonight when he did? Like Caufield says, it's stupid how many games the Sox drop like it's no big deal. Some year we are gonna be 11-3 like KC is now and happy again.
  2. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 05:05 AM) i am not going to be making this about anyone but me, but i am wondering, was i wrong about this team? going into the season, i was sure, this team as assembled, would be doing better, much better. i think, looking at the roster on paper, they have the horses to get it done, but where is the problem? My take is the team is no better than last year's. The defense, coupled with baserunning, is a little below average to bad. The hitting has been overall rotten. LaRoche can't hit lefties. The team continues to strand runners in exasperating situations (first and second no out, etc). The bullpen looks improved but the Sox rarely get them a lead. The starters have been OK to good like last year. It still could go either way, but the team is definitely off to a very disappointing start.
  3. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 04:22 AM) I've come to terms that this team will not nearly live up to my expectations and I can stop caring nearly as much as I do and enjoy my summer. Last night's game perked me up. Tonight brought me down low. Tomorrow is key for my psyche. Can we finally win a series? That would be a decent sign of life. If we lose tomorrow against a blah Indians team, f*** it I agree with you.
  4. Lousy game. Sox don't believe in momentum or winning streaks it appears again. No carryover from last night. Would be nice to win this series at least. Team gets a chance to do that tomorrow.
  5. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:51 AM) Is RV awake over there? It's like the Sox have to be under .500. Like it's the law. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 04:00 AM) Thats 13 ks tonight for sox offense. How many walks?
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:32 AM) Shutout city. And we lose another series. Series after series, year after year. Sox need to start WINNING series.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:26 AM) He's getting insane run support. Unless he makes this team start hitting, he would be of no help Fathom, I've always been a guy who believes in the "coach on the field" thing. Our pitchers used to copy Mark and everybody worked fast. He earned the salary of a player and a coach. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:27 AM) We don't have enough power in the lineup. As soon as LaRoche bats, there is no real power threat Very true. This lack of power is going to hurt the team this summer. The Sox home run bats won a lot of games in the Cell the past many seasons, in some instances making up for the porous defense and lousy bullpen.
  8. Buehrle 202 career wins. I'm telling you I'll never understand why we let him go. He's worth every f***ing dime.
  9. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:23 AM) What purpose does Conor Gillaspie serve on this team, if he can't hit? Lord knows it's not for his defense. He's not one of my faves.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:15 AM) What's with the pitch calling I feel like we just threw this game with no care just so Rodon could pitch. I feel the same way. Frustrates me. I feel like there's never any urgency to stay in the pennant race with this bunch (Robin, KW, Hahn post 2005). QUOTE (DashFan @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:15 AM) Robin Ventura had two jobs today: 1. Give away a game to a division opponent. 2. Destroy any confidence Carlos Rodon may have came into the majors with. Done & done. Agreed. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:18 AM) And if that was the plan, why not give him a start? Now you've wasted a QS from Noesi, shattered Rodon's confidence, and lost a game to a division foe. I just don't know what to think of this org. Exactly. Also way to throw away any momentum from last night. Buzzkill tonight. Thanks for the DP as well, Melky. It was 1-1 and it was time to smoke a double for the money you are making.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:49 AM) Why did they just call for 7 fastballs in a row when Rodon has one of the best sliders in the game? Cause in the situation he was thrust in, he was nervous and he had to throw all fastballs. It was team's only hope of not walking him. I don't blame Rodon BTW. He actually battled there. I see where you are coming from but it was obvious he'd only be going with fastballs.
  12. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:49 AM) We are trying to win a ball game. I don't understand what Robin/Cooper were thinking. So stupid Exactly. Last night was wonderful, but it seems like we concede so many games with dumb decisions/play.
  13. Blah. Sox piss me off cause they're doing stupid s*** and playing bad baseball in 2015.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:45 AM) No matter the outcome, I hate how he's being used Agreed.
  15. Gamebreak right here. Get out of this jam and Sox bats MIGHT awaken.
  16. For the Sox to win this game, Noesi MUST get out of this jam.
  17. Not scoring in the inning we had first and second nobody out is the killer tonight. Sox still playing bad baseball.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 04:11 PM) David Price taking a shot David Price ‏@DAVIDprice14 1h1 hour ago Wow...outfielders when it's a walkiff situation and the ball is too deep for you to make a throw....CATCH THE BALL ANYWAYS...record an out Yes, I immediately thought Melky got a gift hit there. And pitcher gives up yet another hit.
  19. That "You've got to be bleeping me" never grows old. Hilarious. Can you imagine any other announcer in baseball getting away with that call?
  20. Man, that was so great to see the Sox celebrating a walk off for once. To come back like that after a leadoff out. ... wow. Lot of guys came through, including Flowers and Beckham. I didn't even see who was the winning pitcher. Here's the play by play to remember. ... Pitching Change: Cody Allen replaces Bryan Shaw. 1.Adam LaRoche called out on strikes. 2.Avisail Garcia doubles (3) on a ground ball to right fielder David Murphy. 3.Conor Gillaspie walks. With Alexei Ramirez batting, wild pitch by Cody Allen, Avisail Garcia to 3rd. Conor Gillaspie to 2nd. 4.Alexei Ramirez doubles (3) on a sharp fly ball to center. Avisail Garcia scores. Coaching visit to mound. 6.Gordon Beckham singles on a line drive to left fielder Michael Brantley. Alexei Ramirez scores. Gordon Beckham to 2nd. 8.Melky Cabrera singles on a fly ball to center fielder Mike Aviles. Tyler Flowers scores. Gordon Beckham to 3rd. Adam Eaton to 2nd.
  21. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:11 AM) I was so damn close to turning the game off .. glad I didnt. I'm glad I didn't. I didn't exactly smell a comeback after LaRoche's leadoff out, but I was in the mood to keep watching baseball.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:11 AM) I can't believe they didn't replace Allen Yeah, they left him in for the duration. We'd have absolutely fried Robin for doing that. Is Allen their closer? If so it has to be that deal where you let the closer close and you don't ever replace the closer in the midst of his appearance.
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:08 AM) Actually Alexei's double was to straightaway CF . Mike Aviles an IF was playing CF and didn't look comfortable going after it. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:09 AM) Greg, Alexis double was Not to Brantley, it went to their CFer who made a terrible play Thanx I fixed it.
  24. Finally! Sox and their fans get to celebrate one of these walk-offs! Don't discount the hit by TYLER f***ING FLOWERS! p.s. Glad that Melky drive fell and wasn't caught so he gets another hit. ANATOMY OF RALLY Pitching Change: Cody Allen replaces Bryan Shaw. 1.Adam LaRoche called out on strikes. 2.Avisail Garcia doubles (3) on a ground ball to right fielder David Murphy. 3.Conor Gillaspie walks.
