  1. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) I think her fatal flaw, right now, is that her last name is Clinton. Just as Jeb's is Bush. They're the Yankees...and only Yankee fans like to see the Yankees win. Why is that her fatal flaw? Everything I've heard is the country is in love with the Clintons and Hillary will win by one of the greatest landslides in history.
  2. Love watching Robertson pitch so far. He looks elite to me. Guys, Tyler Flowers isn't as bad as some people think on here. He's no John E. Bench or Carlton Fisk but he's an average catcher who gets big hits now and then. I think he's gonna hit 15-20 home runs a year and hit about .240 to .250. Now he's allegedly a better thrower than he's been so far this year, but he's not a complete hack like some portray him to be.
  3. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 03:02 AM) God I can't wait for Rodon to get into this rotation and Sox pitching to become damn near untouchable. Robertson...worth every penny. But don't spend on a bullpen right? So far he's been nasty. The eye test says unhittable so far.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) Then. Stop. Losing. Baseball. Games. Great point. The best.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 03:16 AM) Real nice having two good lefties in the pen too. That's a rarity. Definitely, especially after how bad the Sox lefties have been the last few seasons. Hope these guys keep it up.
  6. You guys who didn't panic at 0-4 deserve credit. Impressed tonight with bullpen. Been awed by Robertson in all his save outings. If the bullpen is actually good and the starting pitching is good, uh, yes the Sox will be good. One series at a time, baby.
  7. I'd skip Noesi whenever possible.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) Can't say enough what an amazing job Hahn did fixing pretty much every weakness, including bench utility guy. Man, you think our roster is that good? I would beg to differ. Every weakness is fixed on this team?
  9. I won't turn on him yet, but he needs to relax and get on base. He seems awfully hyper.
  10. To the attorneys out there ... do you agree juries in highly publicized cases tend to take it easy on the accused? Is this almost a given when you enter a trial of a highly publicized person that you know it's going to be easy to get the lightest sentence, even an innocent/insanity verdict like I'd assume the creep in the Colorado movie theatre case will get? The reason I ask is two juries now couldn't decide if Arias deserved the death penalty or should get life. So finally a judge ruled life without parole. Why can't juries go in and pull the trigger so to speak and sentence the violent killer to death or even life without parole? Why does a judge have to do it? Is it human nature? Or is it just that the highly publicized person on trial gets the BEST lawyers who never fail? Now in cases with no publicity, I'd assume the figures point to many people getting hung out to dry by juries.
  11. How come so many former Sox position players do well when we get rid of them? Rios, DeAza, Semien, etc. Makes me wonder why nobody will pick up Viciedo. Is he still on the market after Toronto cut him? p.s. Phegley is 4-for-9 this season.
  12. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 07:44 PM) Lol do you guys really think Hilary is going be the next president? I guarantee some Obama esque dark horse comes through and shanks her again. This is the first I've heard even suggesting that could be a possibility. I wonder if she'll really flip the finger at America and pick a buddy to be Veep. Who are her closest friends/allies, female predominately who she could pick as VP. I think she'll just pick a comrade.
  13. Why do we always discuss Danks and act as if Noesi is any better? Sox have a problem with both of them in terms of being very effective.
  14. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 07:39 PM) Yeah, go ahead and make that front and center. http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/Hillary-C...2/23/id/626388/ All she is going to run on is 'i am a woman, vote for me' and 'they are saying mean things about me because i am a woman, not because I am totally incompetent at every thing I have ever done and am a truly evil person!'. She can't run on her record because what little there is happens to be pretty bad. Her biggest claim as the S of S is that she is the most traveled secretary ever. Oh boy, vacations on the Federal dime! Woo hoo! She also treats subordinates like crap ie. staff and cops and Secret Service agents assigned to protect her. “Where is the G-damn f**king flag? I want the G-damn f**king flag up every f**king morning at f**king sunrise.” (From the book “Inside The White House” by Ronald Kessler, p. 244 – Hillary to the staff at the Arkansas Governor’s mansion on Labor Day, 1991 “Son of a b*tch!” (From the book “American Evita” by Christopher Anderson, p. 259 – Hillary’s opinion of President George W. Bush when she found out he secretly visited Iraq on Thanksgiving just days before her highly publicized trip.) F**k off! It’s enough that I have to see you s***-kickers every day, I’m not going to talk to you too!! Just do your G*damn job and keep your mouth shut.” (From the book “American Evita” by Christopher Anderson, p. 90 – Hillary to her State Trooper bodyguards after one of them greeted her with “Good morning.” “You f**king idiot.” (From the book “Crossfire” p. 84 – Hillary to a State Trooper who was driving her to an event.) “If you want to remain on this detail, get your f**king ass over here and grab those bags!” (From the book “The First Partner” p. 259 – Hillary to a Secret Service Agent who was reluctant to carry her luggage because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident.) “Get f**ked! Get the f**k out of my way!!! Get out of my face!!!”(From the book “Hillary’s Scheme” p. 89 – Hillary’s various comments to her Secret Service detail agents.) “Stay the f**k back, stay the f**k away from me! Don’t come within ten yards of me, or else! Just f**king do as I s ay, Okay!!!?” (From the book “Unlimited Access”, by Clinton FBI Agent in Charge, Gary Aldrige, p. 139 – Hillary screaming at her Secret Service detail.) “Where’s the miserable c*ck sucker?” (From the book “The Truth About Hillary” by Edward Klein, p. 5 – Hillary shouting at a Secret Service officer) “Put this on the ground! I left my sunglasses in the limo. I need those sunglasses. We need to go back!” (From the book “Dereliction of Duty” p. 71-72 – Hillary to Marine One helicopter pilot to turn back while en route to Air Force One.) “What are you doing inviting these people into my home? These people are our enemies! They are trying to destroy us!” (From the book “The Survivor” by John Harris, p. 99 – Hillary screaming to an aide, when she found out that some Republicans had been invited to the Clinton White House) “Come on Bill, put your dick up! You can’t f**k her here!!” (From the book “Inside The White House” by Ronald Kessler, p. 243 – Hillary to Gov. Clinton when she spots him talking with an attractive female at an Arkansas political rally) “You know, I’m going to start thanking the woman who cleans the restroom in the building I work in. I’m going to start thinking of her as a human being” -Hillary Clinton (From the book “The Case Against Hillary Clinton” by Peggy Noonan, p. 55) “You show people what you’re willing to fight for when you fight your friends.” (From the book “The Agenda” by Bob Woodward, ch. 14) “The only way to make a difference is to acquire power” (From the book “I’ve Always Been A Yankee Fan” by Thomas D. Kuiper, p 68 – Hillary to a friend before starting law school.) “We just can’t trust the American people to make those types of choices…. Government has to make those choices for people” (From the book “I’ve Always Been A Yankee Fan” by Thomas D. Kuiper, p 20 – Hillary to Rep. Dennis Hastert in 1993 discussing her expensive, disastrous taxpayer-funded health care plan) “I am a fan of the social policies that you find in Europe” Hillary in 1996 From the book “I’ve Always Been A Yankee Fan” by Thomas D. Kuiper, p. 76 – Hillary in 1996) This is scary stuff. I can't believe we Americans are going to vote her in. She'll obviously deny each of these reports, but it is pretty well documented she is a very very mean, entitled person. Why do we need her? How bout somebody new? I am normally pretty apathetic. But the thought of her in the office bothers me. How anybody sees her as "likeable" or even somebody you'd trust in the oval office kills me. I mean I despise Obama, but I trust that he's a decent guy and I trust he's not going to do anything really dumb.
  15. Good win over a horrendous Minnesota team (those dropped pop ups?) but obviously a win is a win. Time to win some road games. Cleveland is good. Would be nice to continue winning series.
  16. MLB.com didn't show highlights of Robertson. I wanted to check it out and see if he had the same nasty stuff as Saturday.
  17. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) "Depresses" might be too strong a word, I went to Game 2 of the World Series and it was definitely one of the best days of my life, I meant more that the further we get away from the championship the more I get annoyed at our recent bad play and how we can't seem to string a few good seasons together. That should have been the season where we turned the corner and became a consistent playoff threat. The Twins, Tigers, and Indians have all dominated this division for long stretches since '95, and I'm waiting for our turn. Watching all the mistakes the team made the past few days just makes me miss the '05 team more. I will always have fond memories of the championship, but in 110 seasons we've made the playoffs 9 total times, and never 2 seasons in a row. Not downplaying 05 as it was the best. After that, I really thought we'd dominate the division for a while. People were talking that way. Didn't happen. We've pretty much sucked balls since then. Similar to the 85 Bears. One hit wonders. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 02:13 AM) I have a friend who's dad has worked for the Sox for years and one day he told me that when Buehrle came in for the save in game 3 in Houston, he had been drinking. I said no way. What Garland just said has confirmed that. Unreal. That's incredible. I worship Mark, but what was he thinking? Do they have kegs out in the bullpen? I know they got em in the clubhouse.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 08:39 PM) Twins playing one of the worst defensive games of all time And yet it's 3-1 and very much a ballgame. Geezus.
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 07:32 PM) How did you take the fact that a speedster should lay off high pitches as an indicator of being a bust. I want to connect the dots on this thought process. Well, Hawk and Stoney are acting like teams have figured out Micah and he can't hit a high pitch and that's all he's gonna get in his career. Again, why can't our advance scouts do as good a job as other teams? The balls we hit are always right at defenders.
  20. How come Micah can't hit a high pitch? Hawk and Stoney seem insistent he has to lay off it. Does this mean Micah is gonna be another bust?
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 06:49 PM) Contact play with Micah makes total sense. Everybody does it, but it's so f***ing stupid. A routine roller to third, Micah was out by the proverbial mile. The contact play is ridiculous. And the Sox are laughable in not taking advantage of two dropped pop ups. Geez.
  22. Time to take advantage of the pop ups being dropped. Funny stuff.
  23. The contact play is DUMB. There, I said it. Don't care if everybody does it. It's ridiculous.
  24. He may have a good one to work with in Robertson. Damn he was nasty yesterday. If you haven't seen the ninth I'd encourage you to watch the highlights of the ninth. I wonder if Robertson was so good yesterday it might fire up our guys A LOT. I mean that was All Star nasty pitching. It has to make our guys think, 'Man if we can get a lead to that guy it's automatic."
