  1. Nice hitting by Melky today.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) No they are not. He doesn't pitch back to backs, and they keep him stretched out for when he joins the rotation which could happen soom with the suspensions. His stuff looks pedestrian, you must agree with that. He has to go down and start starting.
  3. It'd be nice if we had a righty candidate to platoon DH with LaRoche. Meanwhile, the great closer is never needed. Start planning a blockbuster trade for Robertson. Damn we can get a haul for him. He is LIGHTS OUT!
  4. That was a nice pitch finally. Please send him down after the game and do the right thing with Rodon. When he runs out of innings as a starter, he runs out of innings. It'll be unfortunate but who gives a f***?
  5. Rodon's pitches today do not warrant K's. He doesn't have strikeout stuff for sure.
  6. Rodon has to be sent down tomorrow to resume starting. This is madness. Time to re-assess a dumb decision. It's OK to admit an occasional dumb decision.
  7. Rodon's current role is stupid, sad and insane. Plus he doesn't even look good.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) Yeah, if we pay 30-50% of LaRoche's and Cabrera's future salaries. Maybe not if contenders get greedy at the break. Otherwise Sox might have to pay a bit. If the team is as bad as it looks there will be no reason to keep any of those guys I mentioned.
  9. At least he coaxed the count to 3-2, then missed a cookie.
  10. Seriously, we should never have traded Semien. The Sox are going to have great chips to trade in Shark, LaRoche, Robertson, Duke, Melky to contenders who will be buying. It's imperative to get it right and get some difference makers who are young and fast and can field. Baseball is changing and Sox will have one final chance to get it right when they sell off this year's parts after the break.
  11. Rodon already looks like he has a tired arm.
  12. How can the White Sox be this bad? Do you realize how bad Minnesota is??
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:37 PM) Two miraculous comebacks. Superior managing. Bullpen. Four under .500 is not that close to .500 after one month.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) Suzuki until today had not thrown anybody out all yr. Sox now 4 for 11 in SB...........Coleman the man. No power no speed no walks ... that's no way to go through life, son.
  15. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ May 1, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) This team has the talent but they look soo damn flat it's disgusting. If it's not Robin's fault, whose fault is it? IMO the team takes on the personality of their manager. Even Ed Farmer called out Robin during his radio broadcast. If Robin isn't on the hot seat now, he will be soon with this uninspirering play. Even our announcers' tone is negative this year. They don't want to see the same ol s*** all season. We've already played the Central teams enough to know we're not going to contend. So that leaves the wild card. We're not going to get that either at this rate. My suggestion is fire Robin just to see if we have the ability to play over .500 this season and hang with the wild card contenders or not. If we don't, I'd be all for re-booting again. Trade Shark and Robertson at the break and try for a haul. Also trade Melky and LaRoche and Danks. Just keep trying til we get it right. All those guys may have some value to contenders. I'm not giving up, but I'd like a new skipper to see if team can turn it around or not. If the answer is no ... reboot it!
  16. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) The specific case has nothing to do with race. It's about abusive police officers killing a guy. I know but the rioting over all the other issues has everything to do with class/race. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ May 2, 2015 -> 03:24 AM) <!--quoteo(post=3151276:date=May 1, 2015 -> 03:11 PM:name=Dick Allen)-->QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) <!--quotec-->Are the 6 cops charged all white? No. So three of the six are African American. Only the minority columnists will tackle that part of the issue, you best believe that. They will be free to write about it; not the white columnists if they want to continue to be employed. Too much of a risky subject to tackle unless you are African American.
  17. Sox are in no danger of moving. They'll draw 20,000 to 25000 on the average this year, so why fret? If the team ever gets good again people will come. That is assured. As long as the Sox want to remain this weird dysfunctional baseball team, Jeckyll/Hyde if you will, screw 'em. They'll still make money with the TV deal and the 20000 to 25,000 average attendance.
  18. Fire Robin. Cooper interim rest of season. Fun times watching press conferences with crabby Coop! Just do it. This team is going nowhere. Robin will be fine. He's no dummy. He knows he's been lousy albeit with lousy teams. Nobody can win with bad defense and no bullpen (til this year). Put him out of his misery and give him some other job in the organization.
  19. Six hits ... 14 men left on base ... But it's early! I'd be all for shaking it up and firing Robin. Have an interim the rest of the year. It'd be entertaining seeing Cooper get a shot and have to deal with the media every day. This team is not going to be entertaining. It's still a dysfunctional unit. We can all dream of some magical run at some point but that's our only hope. Beaten again by Minnie! ps. Nice to see LaRoche bust out with 2 hits. Another bad move moving Micah up. He was doing just fine and comfy down below in the order. Just my two cents on this rotten team.
  20. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) Does it matter? Yeah. In a racially charged case with people rioting.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:26 PM) Also, what are the odds of them getting a fair trial? And I am not saying that to side with them. If they are guilty, they deserve prison. Well, we know a person died that shouldn't have. These six officers are in deep s***, or at least four of the six. I'd think the two with lesser charges will be headed to jail for multiple years as well. Considering I read Baltimore has 50 percent black police officers, it would be strange if all six of these charged were white.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 07:11 PM) Are the 6 cops charged all white? That would actually be good to know. I guess no media outlet wants to go there.
  23. Not trying to make light of this, but CNN sending Geraldo Rivera to cover this is insane. People were yelling at him, pushing him. I'm really surprised somebody doesn't rip his toupee off his head. It would be legendary TV and in a riot I think that kind of behavior would be possible. Not condoning it but I half expected the one kid yelling at him to rip that toupee off.
  24. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 1, 2015 -> 05:03 AM) Eaton needs to be benched for a game or two. He's been brutal to watch. Yes. If he won't draw some walks to go with his occasional hits, he's not deserving of playing every day. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 1, 2015 -> 05:04 AM) Also just give Beckham regular starts at 3rd. That at-least improves the defense and maybe just maybe Beckham has found out how to be a competent bat. Yes to this.
  25. Not a bad article from a cop's perspective. http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/29/opinions/mos...lice/index.html As far as the news that Gray was killed by hitting his head on a bolt in the back of the car, the cops couldn't have shoved his head into that on purpose. I mean unless they were flat-out intent on committing murder.
