  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) Take all 4 ..........................Minn guys cannot believe how bad Sox are. It's hard to be swept in a four-game series, really hard. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 2, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) Overreacting to Rodon I mean I think it's reasonable to suggest he had lousy stuff today judging by the sound of bat hitting ball and he should be stretching out in the minors not in some ridiculous midding inning relief role in the big leagues.
  2. The Twins are .500 and the Sox five under. Laughable. The Twins are 8-4 at home. With that piece of crap team. But the Sox got to stretch out Rodon a bit today ... what a sick joke of an organization. No urgency. Just loss after loss. p.s. I wouldn't have pinch hit Flowers for Shuck when he had two hits, matchups be darned. p.s.s. The Sox bench sucks.
  3. Time to suck it up and win a ballgame or meekly go eat the postgame spread down 0-3 to the ridiculously bad, small market Minnesota Twins team.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) How long have you been a Sox fan? 6 and 6.5 gb with the way they're playing now (assuming Prices beats KC) is borderline nuclear meltdown time. Sure, there's 1983. I don't even follow the standings now. Until Robin gets the boot I'm just watching games for the sake of watching Sox games. Team is going nowhere. Not saying a Robin switch will make it a contender, either. Only thing lights out awesome now is bullpen. Everything else is among the worst in baseball.
  5. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 2, 2015 -> 09:00 PM) So do people think Rodon will get the spot start when our guys serve theur suspensions? I think it will be Carroll personally. Rodon I think goes back down to get stretched out when Guerra and Albers are back. Lots of overreaction in this thread. Overreaction how? This team was not built this offseason to "possibly" lose 3 in a row on the road to the Twins.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:57 PM) Rodon's stuff is sensational, it's his command that's bad Sox are three outs from total embarrassment territory. Maybe they can rally. Twins could be going for a 4-game sweep tomorrow. Hope Shark turns over the food table in locker room. I don't think guys do that anymore though in this day and age.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) They don't give you runs on fouls balls. But if it gives you something to b**** about...... My last comment on the matter: His fastball isn't exploding today and he had nothing nasty working. That last pitch he threw that Kd the batter was close to nasty.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:52 PM) He hasn't given up any runs. Gave up a couple inherited, one on a soft liner to RF, another on a SF. That one pitch was blasted into oblivion a half inch from the foul line. Whatever. I see lousy stuff for the most part today at least from Rodon.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) He is throwing 94-98 with an 89-91 slider. Stuff isn't his problem. It is pretty spectacular. The Twins must have the greatest hitters in the world then, cause they are having no problems squaring up and teeing off. I know the eye test doesn't matter, but the eye test tells me he's got pedestrian stuff today.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) No they are not. He doesn't pitch back to backs, and they keep him stretched out for when he joins the rotation which could happen soom with the suspensions. His stuff looks pedestrian, you must agree with that. He has to go down and start starting.
  11. It'd be nice if we had a righty candidate to platoon DH with LaRoche. Meanwhile, the great closer is never needed. Start planning a blockbuster trade for Robertson. Damn we can get a haul for him. He is LIGHTS OUT!
  12. That was a nice pitch finally. Please send him down after the game and do the right thing with Rodon. When he runs out of innings as a starter, he runs out of innings. It'll be unfortunate but who gives a f***?
  13. Rodon's pitches today do not warrant K's. He doesn't have strikeout stuff for sure.
  14. Rodon has to be sent down tomorrow to resume starting. This is madness. Time to re-assess a dumb decision. It's OK to admit an occasional dumb decision.
  15. Rodon's current role is stupid, sad and insane. Plus he doesn't even look good.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) Yeah, if we pay 30-50% of LaRoche's and Cabrera's future salaries. Maybe not if contenders get greedy at the break. Otherwise Sox might have to pay a bit. If the team is as bad as it looks there will be no reason to keep any of those guys I mentioned.
  17. At least he coaxed the count to 3-2, then missed a cookie.
  18. Seriously, we should never have traded Semien. The Sox are going to have great chips to trade in Shark, LaRoche, Robertson, Duke, Melky to contenders who will be buying. It's imperative to get it right and get some difference makers who are young and fast and can field. Baseball is changing and Sox will have one final chance to get it right when they sell off this year's parts after the break.
  19. Rodon already looks like he has a tired arm.
  20. How can the White Sox be this bad? Do you realize how bad Minnesota is??
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:37 PM) Two miraculous comebacks. Superior managing. Bullpen. Four under .500 is not that close to .500 after one month.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) Suzuki until today had not thrown anybody out all yr. Sox now 4 for 11 in SB...........Coleman the man. No power no speed no walks ... that's no way to go through life, son.
  23. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ May 1, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) This team has the talent but they look soo damn flat it's disgusting. If it's not Robin's fault, whose fault is it? IMO the team takes on the personality of their manager. Even Ed Farmer called out Robin during his radio broadcast. If Robin isn't on the hot seat now, he will be soon with this uninspirering play. Even our announcers' tone is negative this year. They don't want to see the same ol s*** all season. We've already played the Central teams enough to know we're not going to contend. So that leaves the wild card. We're not going to get that either at this rate. My suggestion is fire Robin just to see if we have the ability to play over .500 this season and hang with the wild card contenders or not. If we don't, I'd be all for re-booting again. Trade Shark and Robertson at the break and try for a haul. Also trade Melky and LaRoche and Danks. Just keep trying til we get it right. All those guys may have some value to contenders. I'm not giving up, but I'd like a new skipper to see if team can turn it around or not. If the answer is no ... reboot it!
  24. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) The specific case has nothing to do with race. It's about abusive police officers killing a guy. I know but the rioting over all the other issues has everything to do with class/race. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ May 2, 2015 -> 03:24 AM) <!--quoteo(post=3151276:date=May 1, 2015 -> 03:11 PM:name=Dick Allen)-->QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) <!--quotec-->Are the 6 cops charged all white? No. So three of the six are African American. Only the minority columnists will tackle that part of the issue, you best believe that. They will be free to write about it; not the white columnists if they want to continue to be employed. Too much of a risky subject to tackle unless you are African American.
