  1. LOL at our inept team. I know, it's hard to hit it much harder than that in the rain.
  2. That is not what we necessarily needed. Wish Soto woulda stroked a single.
  3. If lefties won't go with the pitch they shouldn't get to play vs. lefties. LaRoche could have slapped that to left for a hit EASILY.
  4. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) This is the truth. These dudes gotta hit, period. If you want a scapegoat, fine, but at least admit that's what you're doing. Personally, I'd much rather blame Avisail Garcia (just using him as ONE example, because he;s the most extreme IMO) for the fact that 80% of his at bats are hilarious-terrible. Better coaching? I don't f'n know, but I highly doubt more reps in the cage are going to fix his mess. I don't think Robin Ventura is up there saying, "Avi, you gotta decide to swing before he even throws the ball, man." Some of Avi's at bats really are that bad. How come we have so many hitters that can't relax and take some pitches. He has three walks in 57 plate appearances and seems way too anxious up there.
  5. I don't want to start anything but I can't believe Chicago White Sox thinks I'm a Royals fan. Trust me I hate the Royals. I get plenty of offers to go to games with people and I always say no unless they are playing the Sox. If they were in the NL it might be different and I might want to go. I'm not interested in watching them for 3 hours unless they are playing the Sox. Although I did watch the World Series and most of the playoffs of course.
  6. Sox have lost four straight to KC. 0-7 is a fireable offense for Robin. Sorry, but this early in the season it's almost impossible to go 0-7 against any one team. If we lose all 4 to KC, it's going to be almost impossible to win this division. We aren't going to make up 8.5 games on the Royals. The huge negative about Game 2 of the series is you have to wonder if the bats are ever going to wake up. Sox could have beaten KC by scoring one fricking run in the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th. Sad and embarrassing they couldn't do it, especially off Madsen. On the negative side, Duffy is likely to have a quality start which puts the heat on Quintana to get his act together. On the positive side, this might be a good day for Abreu to hit 2 bombs off Duffy. How to prevent getting swept by KC at home, start hitting the damn ball and drawing some walks. The good news is lately the Sox have looked awful in a loss and come back the next game with a win. Right now, beggars can't be choosers and I think any Sox fan would love a 2-2 series split right now.
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 06:58 AM) What did Sale even do except yell at people and act like he was tough? lol For some reason I don't think Eaton just started saying something at Ventura for no reason. I think he said something while Ventura stared him down right when he caught the ball. Then he throws out an F U, I would expect Eaton to say something back after that. Somebody said Eaton thought he was getting quick pitched and yelled right after he hit the grounder.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 05:43 AM) Well, whoever threw that punch at Samardzija as he was going to the ground (and he was wearing a jacket so maybe not n the game or just cold) deserves a 5 game suspension as well. Volquez threw that punch for sure. He'll be suspended. Shark and Sale will get suspensions. Ditto Cain. And obviously Ventura. All the guys who got ejected. It's interesting because now that we know Eaton yelled something at Ventura, you have to wonder if initially Ventura did anything wrong. Let's go by baseball's unwritten book that is so popular. If one ballplayer (Eaton) yells at another (Ventura), the guy who gets yelled at (Ventura) definitely needs to respond lest he be considered a p****. To be perfectly objective, Eaton started this incident. Because if Ventura ignores him, Ventura is considered the coward. What happened is Eaton yelled at Ventura and Ventura yelled back. The fight started when Eaton walked toward Ventura yelling more stuff.
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 05:54 AM) Watched the game on MLBN. Kind of like I came to watch a baseball game and a fight broke out. Wish it was more like I came to watch a fight and a baseball game broke out. It's been like that in about half the Royals games. They have had incidents all season long.
  10. Chicago White Sox I do expect an apology from you calling me a douchbag. I don't need that on here.
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:12 AM) You're not pissed, you're at Applebee's high-fiving you or Royal buddies douchebag. The veterans on this board know that line is a flat out lie. I hate the Royals and love the Sox. Give me a break please. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:25 AM) Only good thing that came from that game is that some of our players showed some f***ing life and heart and in that scrum. Sale, Shark, Q (reports), and Eaton all had some fire in them and were not gonna let those punks come into our house and take it over. I loved what the Shark did, he showed the team he is with them 100 %. I do wish it was Q, Danks, or Noesi bc Rodon can fill their shoes better then they can themselves. Our team needs something to get their bats going hopefully this was it. One counter argument to that. We didn't f***ing win and had four chances to walk off. I think that nullifies your point.
  12. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 04:07 AM) Lol ball game. We deserve this for our bad ABs. f*** this team We had four straight chances to walkoff on a team willing to be beat tonight and failed. Pisses me off.
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 03:58 AM) That's what you are worried about? Micah isn't here to get RBI's and he isn't in position to do so often Not worried about it, but mad about it. All I heard about what how great he was going to be. I know, it's early and all that.
  14. I predict Hosmer knocks in the winning run ... if he's not ejected by then.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 03:56 AM) Well guess what, LaRoche K'd and Avi grounded out. I'll take my chances with man on third and one out. That's where you win the damn game if your team is even halfway competent.
  16. I'm also oh, so happy Micah has no RBI this season. I realize it's not easy where he bats in the order, but at this rate he'll knock in about 20 runs all season ... if he ever gets off the snide and gets his first RBI.
  17. You guys that hate the bunt can rip me all you want. But the inning we had a guy on second and no outs, a good team has Melky bunt him to third and voila we win with a fly ball. But nooooo. We can't ask Melky, a power hitter to bunt him to third. That'd be so wrong.
  18. I'm officially pissed off. We had last bats four straight innings and can't beat this team. Pisses me off.
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) 4 game set already with a 2 game set already in Cle? Oh well, at least they aren't playing inter league in April this year like some teams. I think the Royals are a mediocre team that had a hot start. On paper, the Sox have just as much talent, maybe you can say the ridiculous pen KC has is some magic elixir but in a rare moment of agreeance with Dick Allen I will say -- this team got lucky to make the playoffs and they are acting like the 27 Yankees, fans included. The Sox matchup well on paper let's see how it goes. They are not mediocre. Their defense alone means they are in almost every game. Their hitters really have been digging in and teeing off after swinging from their heels. Hopefully Sale sets the tone and won't allow that to happen. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) Q should bounce back. Danks has been stellar vs. KC, and Noesi pitched pretty well the other night. This is a sweep. Are you kidding or trolling? A sweep? I'm worried about KC going 7-0 vs the Sox on the season. I truly don't think the Sox recover from that. If Sale loses tonight, talk of the sweep would already be rampant. KC is cocky right now and doesn't think it can be beat.
  20. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) in all seriousness, at least for me, it is sCrubs, Yanks, and Det. i love the idea of getting a new rival, it adds to the flavor of the game. I think the Royals have treated games against the Sox like they are facing a rival the past several seasons whereas the Sox play the same against everybody.
  21. I'll say this. I realize the KC pitchers have our number and quite easily could throw four great games and stifle the Sox. But seriously, all four of those guys are hittable. Ventura is AWESOME, yet he can throw a straight fastball that gets blasted. He's been hit. Ditto Duffy. He gives up runs. And it goes without saying you should be able to hit their other two starters. If Sox lose 3 of 4 or all four it will be very disappointing to me.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 04:01 AM) If the Indians get swept, yes....I'll bet anyone they don't come back to make the playoffs. No problem. They've got the starting pitching, but are way short in the bullpen. Brantley seems like he's not 100% with the back issues, Kipnis hasn't been good since 2013 and that leaves Carlos Santana as their main offensive threat. With Gomes out, they're just not a scary team offensively....doesn't matter if they get Nick Swisher back or not. And Michael Bourn hasn't been able to translate his style of play to the AL, not unlike Juan Pierre with the Sox. They're paying him $16 million a year to be a non-entity. Kinda like our series. If we lose all four vs KC I think we're probably eliminated from division contention in April as well. We'd be 0-7 vs. KC already and folks, there'd really be no reason to think we could overcome they or Detroit at that point.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 01:40 AM) Cubs get ratings. Sox fans stay home and don't listen and don't watch. That's a pretty classic post when you think about it.
