  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:15 AM) What's with the pitch calling I feel like we just threw this game with no care just so Rodon could pitch. I feel the same way. Frustrates me. I feel like there's never any urgency to stay in the pennant race with this bunch (Robin, KW, Hahn post 2005). QUOTE (DashFan @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:15 AM) Robin Ventura had two jobs today: 1. Give away a game to a division opponent. 2. Destroy any confidence Carlos Rodon may have came into the majors with. Done & done. Agreed. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 03:18 AM) And if that was the plan, why not give him a start? Now you've wasted a QS from Noesi, shattered Rodon's confidence, and lost a game to a division foe. I just don't know what to think of this org. Exactly. Also way to throw away any momentum from last night. Buzzkill tonight. Thanks for the DP as well, Melky. It was 1-1 and it was time to smoke a double for the money you are making.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:49 AM) Why did they just call for 7 fastballs in a row when Rodon has one of the best sliders in the game? Cause in the situation he was thrust in, he was nervous and he had to throw all fastballs. It was team's only hope of not walking him. I don't blame Rodon BTW. He actually battled there. I see where you are coming from but it was obvious he'd only be going with fastballs.
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:49 AM) We are trying to win a ball game. I don't understand what Robin/Cooper were thinking. So stupid Exactly. Last night was wonderful, but it seems like we concede so many games with dumb decisions/play.
  4. Blah. Sox piss me off cause they're doing stupid s*** and playing bad baseball in 2015.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2015 -> 02:45 AM) No matter the outcome, I hate how he's being used Agreed.
  6. Gamebreak right here. Get out of this jam and Sox bats MIGHT awaken.
  7. For the Sox to win this game, Noesi MUST get out of this jam.
  8. Not scoring in the inning we had first and second nobody out is the killer tonight. Sox still playing bad baseball.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 04:11 PM) David Price taking a shot David Price ‏@DAVIDprice14 1h1 hour ago Wow...outfielders when it's a walkiff situation and the ball is too deep for you to make a throw....CATCH THE BALL ANYWAYS...record an out Yes, I immediately thought Melky got a gift hit there. And pitcher gives up yet another hit.
  10. That "You've got to be bleeping me" never grows old. Hilarious. Can you imagine any other announcer in baseball getting away with that call?
  11. Man, that was so great to see the Sox celebrating a walk off for once. To come back like that after a leadoff out. ... wow. Lot of guys came through, including Flowers and Beckham. I didn't even see who was the winning pitcher. Here's the play by play to remember. ... Pitching Change: Cody Allen replaces Bryan Shaw. 1.Adam LaRoche called out on strikes. 2.Avisail Garcia doubles (3) on a ground ball to right fielder David Murphy. 3.Conor Gillaspie walks. With Alexei Ramirez batting, wild pitch by Cody Allen, Avisail Garcia to 3rd. Conor Gillaspie to 2nd. 4.Alexei Ramirez doubles (3) on a sharp fly ball to center. Avisail Garcia scores. Conor Gillaspie scores. 5.Tyler Flowers singles on a ground ball to left fielder Michael Brantley. Alexei Ramirez to 3rd. Coaching visit to mound. 6.Gordon Beckham singles on a line drive to left fielder Michael Brantley. Alexei Ramirez scores. Tyler Flowers to 2nd. 7.Adam Eaton singles on a line drive to left fielder Michael Brantley. Tyler Flowers to 3rd. Gordon Beckham to 2nd. 8.Melky Cabrera singles on a fly ball to center fielder Mike Aviles. Tyler Flowers scores. Gordon Beckham to 3rd. Adam Eaton to 2nd.
  12. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:11 AM) I was so damn close to turning the game off .. glad I didnt. I'm glad I didn't. I didn't exactly smell a comeback after LaRoche's leadoff out, but I was in the mood to keep watching baseball.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:11 AM) I can't believe they didn't replace Allen Yeah, they left him in for the duration. We'd have absolutely fried Robin for doing that. Is Allen their closer? If so it has to be that deal where you let the closer close and you don't ever replace the closer in the midst of his appearance.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:08 AM) Actually Alexei's double was to straightaway CF . Mike Aviles an IF was playing CF and didn't look comfortable going after it. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 03:09 AM) Greg, Alexis double was Not to Brantley, it went to their CFer who made a terrible play Thanx I fixed it.
  15. Finally! Sox and their fans get to celebrate one of these walk-offs! Don't discount the hit by TYLER f***ING FLOWERS! p.s. Glad that Melky drive fell and wasn't caught so he gets another hit. ANATOMY OF RALLY Pitching Change: Cody Allen replaces Bryan Shaw. 1.Adam LaRoche called out on strikes. 2.Avisail Garcia doubles (3) on a ground ball to right fielder David Murphy. 3.Conor Gillaspie walks. 16. Finally, life! A lot of hits and runs.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 02:37 AM) Maybe it's time I change my mind and start thinking this is a good idea. Get rid of Sale and the org won't be tempted to make all-in moves with an org unprepared for them. Yeah, if we can get 5-6 "Can't miss" big leaguers, maybe I would accept it, too. I heard Hawk tell somebody on the air recently that this current team will win a WS w/in the next 2-3 years, though. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 02:44 AM) As soon as I saw the temp I knew it was over. I didn't want to say it before the game and be that guy I believe you, truly do. I don't like to jinx the team, either.
  18. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 02:32 AM) One thing is for sure, f*** Robin. Hire a new manager. At some point these guys have to perform but I'm tired of having an inexperienced manager. Thing is, the only managers Sox could hire to make me happy are Leyland, LaRussa, Francona and Madden and none of those things can/will happen. I guess I'd be happy with Gardenhire, too. If we can't get him, then keep Robin as the team scapegoat.
  19. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 02:30 AM) It's a good question, would you take our last decade including '05 or the Tigers' last decade? I'd have to take it the way it worked out because of Chicago's sports history in baseball. Nobody had won a WS since the great depression so we had to get that out of the way for the city's sake. Undeniably there's been a lot of bad baseball, though, to go with the title.
  20. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 02:27 AM) I remember hearing on a sports radio show. Would you rather see your team win a championship then suck for 15 years, or be good for 15 years and never win a championship? That's kind of been us lol. Won it all in '05 and had some good playoff teams but lately it's been full out suck. Sox are only down 3-0 at home. But it's like it's 7-0. Learn how to manufacture some base runners. Geez.
  21. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 02:24 AM) 6IP 3ER. Good enough to win but the offense has sucked...again. Thanx, Bigsoxhurt. Appreciate it.
  22. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 02:22 AM) How long can we keep saying its early? That excuse is going to run out soon. 6+ games back in the first two weeks. That's f***ing sad. The one time I'm excited for the season were f***ing terrible. It's like Hawk said in a recent telecast, "We need a mulligan." Stoney: "A do over on the season?" Hawk: "Yes, sure." Stoney: "I don't think they'll let us do that."
  23. Boy, the Sox predictably are off to a s*** start, considering all the games in April are against the Central. What's wrong with the bats? Pretty anemic. I assume Danks pitched well? Just now tuning in and checking the box score.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) wow, wasn't expecting this. Have a feeling if Noesi has a bad start, Rodon will then be in the rotation. What I don't get is that there's absolutely no need for him in the bullpen right now, as lefty relief and Robertson is the only thing going well for the team. I agree. This is beyond weird. So I guess he comes in the sixth or seventh if we can get a starter besides Sale/Shark to go that long. So he'll pitch the sixth and seventh or seventh and eighth? But how's he gonna get enough work to stretch himself to be a starter? Unless Sox are making him the powerful 8th inning guy to get to the ninth, which is weird cause this team doesn't figure to be leading going into the 8th all that much. I don't see why he doesn't just start but maybe they plan to pitch him a lot.
