  1. Shocking that they made this move after the huge Haseley acquisition.
  2. Well not anymore after this blockbuster.
  3. This move is completely independent of the RF need. ...or at least it should be.
  4. Maybe I'm missing something, but did I miss the part of the thread where someone complains that this will take AB's away from Gavin Sheets? Low-cost move that solidifies the OF. Doesn't make us worse, but definitely doesn't change the fact that RF still a huge need.
  5. We're White Sox fans. It's in our DNA to whine and do so excessively.
  6. "crazy" seems to be the correct word here for sure.
  7. Seems so petty.
  8. Note: this post was made immediately before he gave up his base hit....
  9. Crick's "stuff" seems pretty good and lively. Hopefully he can get his command under control. Could be a really nice pickup in the 'pen.
  10. Holy shit. I had to look it up.... and you're right. That's ungodly and should be a good thing.
  11. Crick in. for the 9th.
  12. I feel like it's only been in place since the 2020 midsummer "training camp." I remember seeing it last year, but not in 2019... and I feel like it was a thing in 2020.

Yeah it seems like Crick was the "victim" here. Crick could have been a total asshole about the situation (and it sounds like there was history), but at least it sounds like he knew better than to throw non-defensive punches.
  14. I'm a newbie here but can fill in if there's a spot available. What kind of keeper format is it?
  15. This thread reminds me of this commercial:
  16. Thanks for the clarification. Yeah, I figured that to be the case.
  17. What are the luxury tax implications on contract buyouts / released players like for the hard salary cap in the NHL? Is there anything in the CBA about that? Asking for a friend named "D. Keuchel"... err... "Dallas K."
  18. High upside for $3MM. As long as the Sox don't cry "we can't afford Conforto" or whatever, I'm happy with this move.
  19. Buck is/was great in Brockmire. Other than that... just shut up.
  20. Fun idea: Just because there's a DH available, Doesn't mean that you HAVE to have a DH Doesn't meant hat you have to use the DH on the pitcher's spot ...right? So we could theoretically have Cease pitching and batting 9th and use the DH on Mendick (or whoever is manning 2B).
  21. I'm sure our 2B situation can help remedy that at some point this year.
  22. If there were a salary floor, trading a contract like Keuchel (short-term / high dollar with a good veteran presence) would be a much easier proposition.
