Borchard has a lot more potential to be great than Reed, I think that's what the Sox are banking on for the most part.

Val will likely be gone with Uribe taking his spot. We'll most likely resign either Loaiza or Garcia, preferrably Garcia because he is younger and is entering his prime. If Loz will take mid-level money, he will stay. Konerko is signed through 2005. Shingo has a 2005 option, worth 2.5 million, which will be exercised. Maggs is the big mystery.

I believe the Sox feel strongly about their chances to resign Garcia otherwise they wouldn't have dealt Big Mo. I guess this also tells us that they like Borchard more than they like Reed.

I always liked Olivo, he's the best defensive catcher in baseball in my opinion. I really hope he continues to have a great MLB career.

Anyone think that once we acquire an arm and get Schoeneweis back to full strength that Diaz/Rauch or possibly both take on a role in the bullpen and we dump BP Jackson...I think it's a good possibility. I think Diaz would be electric out of the pen as a 6th/7th inning guy in place of Jackson.
