QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) I'm not sure if you're just agreeing or taking a shot at me No i was saying I recall you bringing up pretty much this exact scenario we're in very early in the season. Like way before it all went to s*** -

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) Been warning about that since basically the first month of the season. Yeah you've been pretty consistent about the worst case scenario ever since May -
Is there a reason Smith hasn't been playing?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) There can't be any possible way that Vizquel plays again in 2012 or that we offer him a contract. If he retires I'd love to offer him the job as the bench coach

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 09:28 AM) Stewart. It's karma for the Hudson/Jackson saga. It'll be interesting to see what happens if Stewart ends up as productive or better than Hudson.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 05:10 AM) Anyone excited about Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? I know I am...in fact, I was so excited about it that I drunkenly purchased a new XBox (was going to go PS3 but I still have like 8 360 games, so I think I'm going to switch during the next gen) a few days ago. Almost made the mistake of buying the 4 GB for $199, then saw that Best Buy included a $75 gift certificate if you buy a 250 GB. Yeah, that was a simple call. Anyways, totally jacked about Skyrim and I am really, really looking forward to getting back into real video games. The original XBox just doesn't cut it for me anymore. Totally. Not just that but the new Assassins Creed and Uncharted come out within the same two week span. It's gonna be nuts

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) I loved the Bill Buckner/Mookie Wilson stuff. Ya. I totally saw it coming when he tossed him the ball but it was still great. Just a fantastic season for Curb this year

Although it was only UL-Monroe, FSU looked really good. Defense is strong, special teams are amongst the best in the country and EJ Manuel looked really good. Better than I expected. Reminded me a lot of a young Randall Cunningham. Can't wait for the OU game in Tallahassee in 2 weeks -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) So who will Ozzie bat 4th today? Dunn or Rios? EDIT: And which posters on the site will justify the decision because (1) it won't matter against Verlander, (2) it's the best option he has or (3) he can't just bench these highly paid players? 1- Rios 2- Greg -
From what I've seen, Sale has #1 stuff. Will his stuff out of the pen translate to 8 innings and 100+ pitches exactly the same? Probably not. Will he stay healthy as a starter? Maybe, maybe not. But I think the potential is there. More likely he ends up as a 2/3, which would be fine, but I don't think it's unrealistic to say he could become a legit #1 in a couple years

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 09:29 AM) i believe a CTL poll this week stated that 33-35 percent of fans wanted ozzie to stay That doesn't surprise me. Being in NY people don't see a lot of goes on and my friends have been questioning me all year about why I want him gone. They all think he's at least a good manager and some love his style and the way he acts towards the media, players etc... Uninformed fans have a much different perspective than people who follow closely exactly what goes on. And for any fan base, they are probably the majority.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 05:40 PM) Remember when certain members of the media would say that "one person doesn't make that big of a difference in a lineup". Well, I went back and looked at the 31 games this season we've lost by one or two runs, and I calculated the stats for Rios and Dunn. Rios is 25 for 123 in those games (.204 bavg) with one HR and 4 RBI in those games Dunn is 12 for 94 in thos games (.128 bavg) with 3 HR and 8 RBI in those games You're looking at a team that is on par with the Tigers, if not at the head of the class, if those two could have given us a lot more production in close games. Wow. That is appalling.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 2, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) Wow, how can they not call up Milledge? I mean, he is on the 40-man, and he can definitely help this team win. I hate to say it, but... Where would he play? Pierre is playing. Period. Merit can be debated but we all know nothing will change. De Aza deserves to play over Rios - whether he will or not who knows. Quentin is going to play when healthy. Then there's Lillibridge who has earned PT, Flowers who will probably DH some and Dunn will play once or twice a week. Milledge is not a good defender so he wouldn't really get any at bats. The only OF I thought that might come up was Danks and only because of his brother and defensive ability.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 04:57 PM) Win all 3 and we're 1 game back in the loss column. Honestly, only a sweep will have me believing in them again. Although 2 out of 3 doesn't do us in it's still 4.5 games and not much time to play -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) No mention of September call-ups anywhere? Charlotte has games until Monday
-
QUOTE (bozzie @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) Of course, Northside. I'll keep my new new threads similar in vein to the ones you seem to want to leave there; i.e.: hey, how about all us fans give Dung a big ovation next time he comes to bat, white sox nation, woo hoo it's on, Northside . . . LMAO

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) Chicago>Birmingham We're 6 out. If we were closer maybe. All they have to do is call up Infante and Reed to give us a couple extra arms and we'll be fine

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) Not really. Just saying Peavy wasn't the only problem today. Without Ozzie's best efforts, Peavy could have been easily bailed out today -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) 13... Glad that Dunn had the chance to PH for Lilli today in the 9th. Ugh. It just defies logic

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) Who did you want to pinch run? Anyways, Ozzie is a f***in moron, every time you think he can't get any f***in dumber he does s*** like this. I'm sick to my f***in stomach. This. What a disastrous managerial game for Ozzie. Just atrocious. The whole pinch running thing was actually a good idea (shockingly), so that should not be lumped in there. -
