  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 01:08 PM) Best GM in baseball gave up up a 160 era + for a 76 ops +. Its limited sample size but im pretty sure if the roles were reversed youd be calling Kenny the dumbest man alive. As for Danks, might as well trade him because no way are the Sox giving him 5 years. Best GM in baseball also was the only one to fail to sign his first round pick
  2. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) Say the Sox bring back everyone for next year. Here's how i think the starters will rank at the end of the year: 1.) Sale 2.) Danks 3.) Floyd 4.) Buehrle 5.) Stewart 6.) Peavy 7.) Humber That top 5 has potential. One problem is Peavy is going to have to pitch and be paid. If you think Peavy can come back to something resembling his NL form, they can withstand the loss of Danks. That's just a bit ambitious
  3. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) I think if Wsox were to bring in an OF assuming Pierre is gone and Quentin is traded someone cheap like Delmon Young/Willingham/Dejesus. If Beckham doesnt retool his swing I actually would be ok with Lillibridge being the starting 2B and Escobar could be the super utility role, should provide above avg. defense at very least. I think Escobar is still only like 22 so I wouldn't mind leaving him in AAA another year to see if his bat can improve a bit more before relegating him to a utility role in the bigs
  4. Jozy netted a pair this weekend for AZ. And played the full 90 so thats a very promising sign. That's already 3 in 3 games for him there. If he could develop over there that would be enormous the for the national team. Also might lead to Agudelo following his path if the Dutch league pays dividends for Jozy
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) Anyone still think we win this division? Aside from Greg Hibbard? Yes.
  6. That should give her insurance company the right to refuse her coverage
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) Do you have a dog? My favorite parts are Wilfred doing dog things but being a human. Yes. Always have. I totally get the point of the show but it's just not funny to me. Are there funny moments? Yes, but they are far outweighed by the abusred "wtf?" moments for me. For example, the constant drinking and smoking - I mean, really? What is that supposed to add? If it's supposed to be a dog viewed as a human by the main character, having the dog doing things that aren't even remotely possible for a dog, or any animal to do, is just ridiculous
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) ChuckGarfien Chuck Garfien Hendry said Tom Ricketts told him he wasn't being brought back on July 22nd! Wow, way to give the guy incentive with the trade deadline approaching
  9. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 10:52 AM) Took it as if they meant they would release a few at a time. Good catch. I apparently suck at reading comprehension Although I did find the top 5 in a separate article so who knows
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 10:35 AM) Just like to reiterate that those of you who do not like Wilfred suck. I'm sorry, but that show is retarded. My roomate and his girlfriend love it so i've watched a few episodes with them. I've tried to give it a shot but it's just so ridiculous. It's not the worst show ever, but I just don't see the appeal.
  11. So they clearly made a whole list but I can't find it anywhere on that site
  12. Dempsey scored twice for Fulham yesterday in their Europa match. I really think he's now the best/most important player for the USMNT and will be over the next 3 years
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 08:33 AM) Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein #WhiteSox SS Tyler Saladino goes 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple; very hard guy to evaluate, as scouts are very mixed on him. Just turned 22, provides offense at a position where it is pretty weak at the moment, doesn't have a bad contact rate or too bad of plate discipline and from what I've heard is a good though not great defender. Sounds like a prospect that we should start to get a little excited about
  14. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) That's what we get for letting him rot in AAA only to suffer multiple injuries and possibly ruin him before he ever got a chance. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 05:49 PM) Has to be sarcasm. I don't think it was. I'm actually surprised it took so long for this kind of post to pop up. I believe Ozzie got immediately blamed for Jared Mitchell's injury as well for making him play LF
  15. Mark Gonzales Sox lineup: Pierre lf, De Aza rf, Konerko dh, Dunn 1b, Ramirez ss, Rios cf, Vizquel 3b, Flowers c, Beckham 2b, Humber p
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) I thought Brandon Short couple play CF as well, and I'd take him over either of the two you asked about. Not only short but Walker and Thompson as well. Does Mitchell play CF too?
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) I was thinking the same thing. How did he even test positive for it? They test for it in the minors now since last summer
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 10:38 AM) Humber has struggled lately and Stewart wasn't all that impressive. They both battle hard and that's a plus. I think it really is six of one and half a dozen of the other. Unless you are using a baker's dozen. I trust that Cooper and Ozzie know who is doing better and can perform as needed in the assigned role. Did you actually watch any of his three appearances with us so far?
  19. Well, odds are looking good we'll be 4.5 out again
  20. Viciedo apparently left the game after diving for a ball in the outfield. Awesome
