QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Anybody got any good ideas if I have a mustache to work with? I have grown out my beard, but will shave it into a mustache if I can think of something good. Ron Swanson

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 02:52 PM) I could really see it being Michigan. I know he and Glenn Robinson III are buddies. Plus I just can't see him making it at Duke, especially since all indications are he will be a one and done. http://detnews.com/article/20111027/SPORTS...pUXb0g.facebook If we wants to grow as a player in college at all he'll choose Michigan or Florida. Duke just does not produce big men. Still think he should have given UConn more thought -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 07:59 AM) Horrible invasion of privacy based on unfounded prejudices. Do you feel the same way about the workplace urine tests that people with jobs that support such benefits are often required to take?

LET'S MAKE A LIST OCTOBER '11 - FAVORITE SPORTS MOVIES

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) I can agree to that, but they're all much, much, much, much, much closer to being sports than poker is. Yes and no. Athletically they are but to me, what differentiates sports from skills is interaction with your competitors. It's not cut and dry but with the activities I mentioned, you can't really affect the other person at all (pool you kind of can). It's just who does better. At least with poker, there is a direct interaction with your adversary and what you do or don't can and does affect the other. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 12:35 PM) What is bowling, then? Golf certainly takes more athletic ability than bowling. Bowling, pool, golf, darts, archery etc... are more skills than sports to me -

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 12:14 PM) Golf is a sport, just a lame one. It's based on physical actions. Poker is a game. Golf is skill, not a sport. -

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) My in-laws have a newspaper that shows the listing of their house when they bought it. On the exact same page there is a listing of my parents' house. We lived there until I was in the 3rd grade. I recently started seeing a girl who's parents house is a house that my parents put a bid on but lost out because her mother had beaten them by a couple days. This was back in 1983 before either of us was born.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) Washington started the screw-ups in the 8th. Murphy can't hit lefties, there is absolutely zero reason to keep him in to face Scrabble. They got a lucky bounce so it worked out. Then I don't care what's going on with the bullpen phone, keeping the LOOGY in to face Napoli cost them the game. Run onto the field and stop the at-bat if you have to, get a righty in there!

So I have a Kindle app for my droid and recently downloaded a couple E-books for it. Is there any way I can transfer that to my laptop so I can read it on my computer screen? Or some cable I can buy to read it through my monitor while leaving it on my phone?

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 05:12 PM) Brotherhood already came out, I think you mean Revelations. Which reminds me, I still have to finish Brotherhood. Yeah that's what I meant...and yeah I gotta finish Brotherhood still as well. I've just spent too much time having fun exploring Rome and doing side quests as opposed to finishing the actual main storyline

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) I just picked up the double-pack of Uncharted and Uncharted 2 ($40), as I finally have to play those at some point. This review basically claims that Uncharted 3 is the best game ever made. They were pretty much saying that about Uncharted 2 and it lived up to all the hype it received as well. I can't wait for early November. Uncharted 3, AC: Brotherhood and Elder Scrolls VI all come out within days of each other QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Also, I'm pumped about the new AC. Will probably have to ask for it for Xmas though. Agreed

QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 09:39 AM) I couldn't think of the proper term for residents of Myanmar off the top of my head. Myanmarese? Myanmarians? Myanmarish? I'd go with the first one, but I'm not sure. It's Myanma but Burmese is still acceptable. They still speak in Burmese and write in a Burmese script as well.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 20, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Wayman Tisdale Award (Best Freshman) Watch List Bradley Beal, Florida (G, 6-3, 207, Fr., St. Louis, Mo.) Chane Behanan, Louisville (F, 6-6, 245, Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio) Khem Birch, Pittsburgh (F, 6-9, 220, Fr., Montreal, Quebec) Anthony Davis, Kentucky (F, 6-10, 220, Fr., Chicago, Ill.) Andre Drummond, Connecticut (C, 6-10, 270, Fr., Middletown, Conn.) Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kentucky (F, 6-7, 232, Fr., Somerdale, N.J.) Le’Bryan Nash, Oklahoma State (G/F, 6-7, 230, Fr., Dallas, Texas) Austin Rivers, Duke (G, 6-4, 200, Fr., Winter Park, Fla.) Marquis Teague, Kentucky (G, 6-2, 189, Fr., Indianapolis, Ind.) Adonis Thomas, Memphis (F/G, 6-6, 222, Fr., Memphis, Tenn.) Josiah Turner, Arizona (G, 6-3, 192, Fr., Sacramento, Calif.) Cody Zeller, Indiana (F, 6-11, 230, Fr., Washington, Ind.) I'd assume Zeller has a chance to be high up in the voting at the end of the year, simply because he's going to be the best player and focal point of his team. Admittedly, I don't know enough about the teams of the other players on this list to know if that's true for others as well. Also, the fact that he's the best player on the team could possibly hurt him, since teams will focus on him more. While Zeller is likely the best player on IU this year, Watford is probably the better scorer right now. Two more years experience, and he'll be able to take a more natural role (out on the wing, instead almost exclusively playing the 4/5) with Zeller here. Of course, I could care less what individual awards Zeller (or any other Hoosier) wins, as long as the team plays well and improves significantly over last year. It'll be Rivers or Drummond IMO -

Since about 75% of the posts here are now about Breaking Bad...why not create a separate thread like there was for Lost? Just kinda annoying to sift through them for those that don't watch. Not a huge deal, just a thought

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) I have never seen proof of this. It's because there is none. He just brings it up ad nauseum. Criticize the pick all you want, it looks to be a fair complaint, but there is simply zero proof of that.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) 1. He Lied About Pitching and Defense – It would certainly seem that way. For a guy who wants pitching and defense to be the focus he hasn't quite done his job. He brought 10 time gold glover Andruw Jones to be a DH? Keeping awful Juan Pierre and Carlos Quentin out there to be his everyday outfielders. He brings in Teahan who is average at 3rd base at best and then moves Beckham, who seemed to be getting better, to second. 2. He lied about his kid being drafted and not knowing anything about it. Seems to lack an Organizational Philosophy....It's in Williams court to decide the kind of baseball organization they want to be. But they don't seem to know. Half the time they seem to want to be a Twins Organization where they build up and other times they want to play with the big boys and be buyers every year. But the White Sox won't throw big money at anyone. They won't even consider it. And then they sell off young pieces for talent that is often suspect. And then of course they waste draft picks on Ken Williams Jr. who wasn't projected to be any good coming out of college but somehow managed a pick in the first 10 rounds. Go figure. 3. Lies about getting someone at trade deadline EVERY year that makes a difference most times he gets no one and when he does make a deal it is for someone who was good 10 years ago.............Griffey, Alomar, ETC...ETC! I did not even bring up the latest Cowley/Guillen/Cooper situation! 1 - Without looking at the stats of every team this year, weren't we close to the top in fielding %? Alexei is elite as SS, Beckham was great at 2B, PK is average at 1B, Morel is above average at 3B. AJ sucks with his arm but can block pitches and call a good game. Rios is supposed to be good in CF and Pierre is coming off a great year in the field and minus his arm he's always been able to cover ground. So the defense argument doesnt really hold. And the pitching has been our strength for a while so not real sure where you're going with that. 2 - You've been saying that forever but you have no idea. You are 100% speculating. 3 - Really? A GM who isn't forthcoming about pending deals/no deals at the trade deadline? Oh lord. None of those really point to KW lieing at all. Not liking him is one thing, and there are very valid reasons for doing so. But calling him a liar really doesn't hold much weight, especially using those "examples"
