US defeated Guadeloupe 1-0 so they advance to play Jamaica. Should have been a better result but the US did control the game. I'm beginning to think Clint Dempsey might be our best player at this point. Unlike last night, Agudelo has to continue to play though, I don't like anyone else up top with Jozy. And I wish we included Diskerud on this squad, I really liked what i've seen from him in the midfield.

I don't get what is so wrong about this and why people are so upset with Jake. He is clearly dying to help the team in any capacity that he can. He wants to win and he wants to be a part of it, that much is evident. Is putting him in the bullpen the wisest decision? I'd say probably not. But it's hard for me to fault the guy for willing to perform in whatever capacity the club deems fit. Most pitchers would never offer to go to the bullpen no matter what. Complain all you want about his propensity to get injured (and it's a legitimate complaint), but at least to me there is nothing to say badly about his character. I really have no problem with him saying this at all.

He was far from an elite prospect but he was a prospect. He was rated somewhere around 60 among hitters from Florida this year (which is a loaded state) and was rated by some higher than his teammate (Ravelo) going into the draft last year. If his last name was not Guillen, he probably would have been drafted around the 30 range this year and somewhere around the same last year. But since his family has caused so much bulls*** lately, he was nowhere near good enough of a prospect to justify putting up with that. That is the most likely reason he was not drafted. But by all means, keep making statements using absolutes and exaggerations when you clearly haven't done your homework. It's amusing.
