  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) 5 hits, 6 walks, 1 HBP, 5 innings, 2 runs. Awful
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 02:02 PM) Why would they promise a no talent kid anything. It is obvious picking him last year was a joke and nobody else wanted him this year. It's obvious you just like to say things without really knowing what you are talking about.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) Cats can take care of their own bathroom needs, dogs can't. end of story. Not true
  4. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 07:05 AM) Dogs have bigger brains but cats have double the neurons in their cortex, which is considered the thinking part of the brain, so meh it could go either way. As for the person that says people arent as sad when their cat dies, you are more biased towards dogs than rockraines is to ohio state. It wasn't me but I'll agree that when someone I know has lost a dog, almost always they have been more broken up than when someone else lost a cat. Even with me personally, we had both growing up and the reactions to losing our dog were way different than when we lost our cat.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) No one thought that. I have nothing against dogs, I just prefer cats. I always find it comical that dog people absolutely hate cats. I don't get it. Oh, and dogs are not smart compared to cats. That's really not true at all.
  6. So rumor is Rashard Lewis was banging Lebron's girlfriend?
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Don't know why, but I have a good feeling about Keegan Linza. I might take him as a new AAP, since a bunch of my guys (Dubler, Lucy, G Johnson) are non-prospects now, and Shirek is marginal at best. You just like his name
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) That's just not accurate. Cats Dogs are really smart, they love to play, and they make great companions.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) If you guys think Omar is the greatest, fine. I still say he's a black hole in the lineup. Black hole might be too strong a word, but any team starting Omar Vizquel regularly is a team in a world of hurt. No one is saying he is the greatest, can you please try to keep things in perspective and not always go to extremes and absolutes.
  10. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) That bias was only about 10% of what it is now before the last two months. 25 or so games at the leadoff spot batting sub .200 is unforgivable. The Barons really started rolling once Kuhn was moved there. KW Jr. may have had speed in the past, but it's gone now. I know he missed half of last season with two separate DL stints. I'm certain one was leg injury. Yea either groin or quad IIRC
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) Only someone who has never owned a cat and seen all of the personality and entertainment they bring could say something like this. I know you're trying to be funny, but f*** off on the f*** cats let em burn comment, eh? He clearly wasn't being serious. I actually thought of making a similar comment. I hate cats but would never in the world even consider leaving one behind (or any other living pet I had). As for those people, that is a major disgrace and shameful. And in not taking pictures and stuff over an XBox? Well some people obviously value sentimental things at varying degrees. Pictures/hard drives/keep sakes etc would be some of the first things I took.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:48 AM) From Lee Elia, Chicago Cubs, Manager, in April, 1983 (before Wrigley Field had lights for night baseball), following a home loss to the Dodgers and in front of writers and microphones: "F*ck those f*ckin' fans who come out here and say they're Cub fans that are supposed to be behind you, rippin' every f*ckin' thing you do. I'll tell you one f*ckin' thing, I hope we get f*ckin' hotter than sh*t, just to stuff it up them 3,000 f*ckin' people that show up every f*ckin' day, because if they're the real Chicago f*ckin' fans, they can kiss my f*ckin' ass right downtown and PRINT IT. They're really, really behind you around here...my f*ckin' ass. What the f*ck am I supposed to do, go out there and let my f*ckin' players get destroyed every day and be quiet about it? For the f*ckin' nickel-dime people who turn up? The motherf*ckers don't even work. That's why they're out at the f*ckin' game. They oughta go out and get a f*ckin' job and find out what it's like to go out and earn a f*ckin' living. Eighty-five percent of the f*ckin' world is working. The other fifteen percent come out here. A f*ckin' playground for the cocks*ckers. Rip them motherf*ckers. Rip them f*ckin' cocks*ckers like the f*ckin' players. We got guys bustin' their f*ckin' ass, and them f*ckin' people boo. And that's the Cubs? My f*ckin' ass. They talk about the great f*ckin' support the players get around here. I haven't see it this f*ckin' year. Everybody associated with this organization have been winners their whole f*ckin' life. Everybody. And the credit is not given in that respect. Alright, they don't show because we're 5 and 14...and unfortunately, that's the criteria of them dumb fifteen motherf*ckin' percent that come out to day baseball. The other eighty-five percent are earning a living. I tell you, it'll take more than a 5 and 12 or 5 and 14 to destroy the makeup of this club. I guarantee you that. There's some f*ckin' pros out there that wanna win. But you're stuck in a f*ckin' stigma of the f*ckin' Dodgers and the Phillies and the Cardinals an all that cheap sh*t. It's unbelievable. It really is. It's a disheartening f*ckin' situation that we're in right now. Anybody who was associated with the Cub organization four or five years ago that came back and sees the multitude of progress that's been made will understand that if they're baseball people, that 5 and 14 doesn't negate all that work. We got 143 f*ckin' games left. What I'm tryin' to say is don't rip them f*ckin' guys out there. Rip me. If you wanna rip somebody, rip my f*ckin' ass. But don't rip them f*ckin' guys 'cause they're givin' everything they can give. And right now they're tryin' to do more than God gave 'em, and that's why we make the simple mistakes. That's exactly why. " THANK YOU! I love the "those motherf***ers dont even work" line
  13. So it's not quite the Stanley Cup, but I got to drink out of the Calder Cup last night (AHL trophy)
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) So... This is okay? http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/35778477/ns/...st-milk-cheese/ Ok....that was just sounds disgusting
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) If that is true I expect the whole scouting department to resign noboby in MLB wanted Ozney this year and probably last year, what makes KW and OG think White Sox organization owes there kids a payday. KW Jr probably would not of been drafted either by anyone else, If this BS crap did not exist. I get being upset about some of the Sox recent picks, but this is just a completely false statement. In no way should KW Jr have been drafted in the 6th round, but if we didn't draft him, someone almost assuredly would have drafted him in the 10-15 round range. As for Ozney, he was a legitimate prospect last year and also was this year. Not top 15 like the Guillens are saying, but there was no real reason for him not to have been drafted. I guarantee this was because teams wanted to avoid the Guillen family drama (because he's not a good enough prospect to deal with that).
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 08:28 AM) Was one of the Twins top prospects before he was traded to the Nats. As I recall, there were no questions about his defense, but concerns about his bat. Carlos Quentin Dayan Viciedo Brent Lillibridge Mark Teahen Alex Rios Juan Pierre Alejandro De Aza Jordan Danks Lastings Milledge Those are players I would rather see play in a major league game in the outfield over Stefan Gartrell. The White Sox did him a favor, and if he can make it to the majors with another organization, then good for him. (I may have honestly missed someone. I don't care. That's how much I miss Stefan Gartrell) Do you not like Ken Williams Jr? /obvious? --- I had a friend who watched him play in Omaha for Wichita State and he said he was by far the fastest player on the field. That team included Andy Dirks, who stole 55 of 68 bases in the minors, as well as a few other players who are in major league organizations. If you do believe he is really, actually, honestly that slow, I want to see a bit of video proof. KW Sr. had 8 triples with a .218 BA and a .121 Iso at the MLB level to go along with 29 triples and 142 steals in 208 attempts in the minors (I get it, bad percentage - nobody gave a s*** about that back then). Oh, and another son (I think he has 3, though I may be mistaken), Kyle, was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers to be pretty much a kick returner. Mendel tells us that genes are transferred from parent to child. Unless Williams Jr is hiding something injury wise (which is certainly possible - I don't think he is the most durable player in the world), me thinks either you are lying or the dude can't get out of the box.
  17. QUOTE (Nokona @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Bernstein on the Score saying the Guillens feel very, very hurt and were promised that Ozney would be taken between 10-15. Promised by the Sox? Or teams in general? I'm really hoping it's the latter.
  18. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) McGary would have been a lock for IU had he qualified for 2011. The 2012 class is already #1 in the country and Crean has set his sights on Gary Harris for the final slot. I'd love to have both, but the scholarship situation isn't going to let it happen. McGary has been a beast this summer, but he's also over a year older than all the kids he's playing. The sky is the limit for Harris, and he's also one of the youngest kids in 2012. As for UCONN, they just lost two scholarships because of failing grades from the APR. Not sure where the hell they are getting these scholarships. They lost 2 for grades, 1 for self imposed sanctions. They graduated 3 guys and had one transfer (Coombs McDaniel) so they had two to play with this year. They are now at the limit with Daniels but will gain two back next year. Jeremy Lamb will probably leave and odds are one of their bench guys will transfer (no seniors and Oriakhi is only junior). So they'll have two-four to give out next year. One is reserved for Drummond and Calhoun probably has another. So that would leave them with one or two more potentially. They offered McGary before Daniels so that's where that came from.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) Ozney still on the board? Interesting. I bet it has something to do with his brother and father.
  20. Where's our Phil Humber?
