QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) I know, I know. Just looking for other opinions. Fifa It's supposedly a big upgrade from 10 and obviously all the transfers are done with the clubs etc...

After the "guts or nuts" line in the beginning s*** my dad says was terrible. It was as if they were trying too hard to drop a great one liner every three seconds and it was obvious. Always Sunny was meh again. The Office was actually fairly decent IMO. I thought Big Bang was great to be honest. And the League was much better this week. I hated Rafi in the premiere but he was great this week. Hope the diminished role of Taco doesn't become a trend though. And Outsourced had its moments. Wasn't great but it was far from terrible as someone hinted at it would be yesterday. Since there's nothing else on at 9:30 i'll probably give it another shot

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) Watched it because it had the guy from num3ers who I've met. The setup was cute, the dialogue was frankly...bad. Hmm well i'll still give it a shot. A good premise/story to me is worth it even if the dialogue leaves something to be desired. At least initially.

Anyone watch The Whole Truth? I missed it but have it DVR'd. Interested if it was any good or not

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) Running Wilde was awful. As soon as I heard the kid narrator I knew I would hate it. I'm glad it wasn't just me. I gave it a chance but didn't think it was really that funny at all.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) I once saw a sign for a "SCOOL CROSSING".

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) The debut of Boardwalk Empire was fantastic. I DVR'd it. I'm gonna watch it tonight. Good to hear though. A good friend of mine is going to a Q&A on Sunday with the guy who films it.

I collect ancient/medieval coins and antigues. My favorite pieces are a Queen Elizabeth coin, a viking dagger and an ancient egyptian amulet of Anubis.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) Have you ever seen a fox? And then realized "s*** that's a fox, I've never seen one in real life"? Haha yes. I remember when i was in high school riding my bike back from my friends. He had a mini-mansion and his house was way up on a hill. There was a stone/dirt back road that ran into a street by mine so i'd take that way home usually. One day on the way back something ran in front of me and it was red and I had the same "oh s***, i think that was a fox" reaction.

What Farm Hands will be on the Opening Day Roster

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) He probably gets treated like Getz did. Both did their roles well and got sent away. I think Lillibridge stays though as a reserve IF'er And frankly, I'm completely fine with that. He's got some speed, can play almost anywhere and at least appears to have really refined his swing. -

QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) Yeah, take away Morel, Viciedo, and Sale and I find it hard not to throw up looking at their roster. (Although I still think Jordan Danks could pan out if he can cut down on strikeouts.) One thing that surprised me this year was how horrible Rochester... the Twins AAA team... was. They had one of THE worst records in all of MiLB... winning almost 20 games less than Charlotte. You never know what Mitchell could do next year. I don't expect him in Chicago but depending on how he looks in the AFL he could jump on to the 2012 radar with any luck. -
QUOTE (champs2005 @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 12:18 PM) I cant quite put it into words, but Ill try...last nights sequence of events with Konerko getting hit in the face by Pavano, his trying to get up and go to first, Herm holding him back, his puffed up lip as he stood at first base, MB hitting the first guy up for the Twins next inning with his first pitch and then PK hitting a homer on the first pitch in his next AB...this was one of the top 5 highlights of the season for me. Regardless that it all came in this game; Twins sweep, nail, coffin, etc. Not to take anything away from Paulie, because that homer was so perfectly timed. But, is there any chance at all that Mauer said something to PK in that next at bat like "sorry dude, number one down the middle take a shot" or Pavano threw him a cookie to atone? Probably not but just throwing that out there. That would be even more dramatic, in an "inside baseball" kind of way. Absolutely not.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 08:22 AM) The opener of the League was a little meh. There were some funny parts but it had a much more unrealistic feel to it with the Ocho Cinco stuff and some of the other gags. I kind of agree. It was too ridiculous to have Chad Ochocinco have that much of a role and I don't like the inclusion of Rafa. They already have Taco.

For a season premiere it was pretty weak IMO

Ridiculously long, good Posnanski article on KW.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) And which day did the schedule say, "I'm judging Hudson, who we have poured a lot of money into, on 3 big league starts. I will trade him for the ever-expensive Edwin Jackson." And wich day did the schedule say, "I know Jake Peavy won't be back until September, but I will trade an effective pitcher for him now because we will be in the race when Jake comes back and he will anchor our rotation in the playoffs/WS?" GMAFB Some of you guys are just ridiculous -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) So Im usually a pretty patient person, but Im freaking out over the Study Abroad application I turned in yesterday. This year will be the first that not everyone who applied will get to go due to high demand and I really want to know where, if at all, I got into. That's really my only regret from college, that I didn't look into one of those programs for a semester. Why did you apply?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) You still keep saying the bolded, and its still not at all the case. If anything, the Sox organization severely lacks 1B/DH types, which is why we ended up with Kotsay/Jones at DH. Viciedo is the only young up and coming player who fits that category, and he's still just 21, so its way too early to give up on him entirely for defensive purposes. Josh Fields? Fields simply couldn't catch up to 90+ heat, that was his major problem. Viciedo on the other hand has incredible bat speed, so catching up to fastballs won't be his issue. And this thing where you keep harping on defense still hasn't caught up to 2010, where the Sox have improved defensively and aside from the part-time RF (Quentin) and occasional 3B (Teahen), the team is pretty strong in this category. But facts make those kind of arguments weaker though! I agree, defense was clearly improved this year on the whole and giving up on Viciedo already is just ridiculous. Yes, the odds he will never be able to be adequate defensively at 3B are greater, but that's why playing him there now makes sense. Have him work with Cora/Guillen in the offseason and Vizquel if he is brought back. See if he has improved by next ST. He's an athletic kid with a cannon for an arm. Most 21 year olds are still in AA or lower, i'm more than willing to give him a bit of slack here.

Apparently she didn't know the answer to the question though but had already signed the form to allow the footage to be used so she's kinda embarrassed.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) The process I used to root took me a good 3 hours or so but there are much faster methods available now for the EVO. If you're going to consider rooting your Incredible make sure to bookmark this page. You can learn about rooting and things to do with your phone after you rooted. By glancing through a few threads it looks like there's a fairly easy method available here. Make sure you read through the thread to get more info on the process before you dive in. And here's what my 3 home screens look like after rooting. Completely customized theme and I am loving it. What exactly does "rooting a phone" mean?
