  1. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) It's delusional to think that the Wild Card will come out of the central, come on. With the absolutely brutal schedule the Rays have, if the Twins and Sox both get (well, stay is the more appropriate word) hot, there is a definite chance of that happening. Probably not any higher than 10-15% but I wouldn't call it impossible.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) Is Teahen that much of a liability at 1st? Before seeing that both suck against Verlander, I would have actually preferred Kotsay against a pitcher like Verlander. At least he's batting 8th.
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 03:12 PM) c'mon, lets give oz some s*** for running lilli.... +eleventy
  4. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) No sox baseball.. Good to hear some players banged up will get another day of rest however. Now I gotta find what the hell is good on T.V. tonight. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Just go see Machete. Or just go out and drink
  5. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) Is Trayce Thompson officially a garbage prospect now? Because he's holding his own and showing decent power capabilities as a 19 year old in A ball?
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) Brandon Short was on the periphery of the radar coming into this season, but he's not only played very well, we've also seen multiple scouting tidbits that speak very highly of him. He's someone to watch as well. I'm assuming he's hurt since he hasnt played in a while, but anyone have any concrete info on his status right now?
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:37 AM) Season ticket renewals are pretty much 100% locked up in the next week BTW with playoff invoices already out. Buehrle makes more money than he is worth to the Sox and Danks is worth more to the Sox than on the trade market. You wont get an A-gon which is ridiculously been mentioned, but you could probably get a prospect and an MLB role player. If you let Konerko go and trade Buehrle's 14 million dollar salary you literally have enough money to sign a superstar free agent and possibly a 5th starter or a good bullpen arm. Not to mention you WILL get value back for Buehrle, especially if he is traded to the NL. Do you seriously think all the Sox could get for Danks is a prospect and a ML role player?
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) Here's the problem though...the Brewers, for example, don't have any high upside, upper minor league arms right now. If they did they'd probably already have them in the majors. Their top pick last year, Eric Arnett (who some here were interested in) has an ERA of nearly 7 this year. Another of their pitchers is working on his 2nd drug suspension (100 days). I honestly don't think the Brewers are even a candidate. As you said, I doubt KW goes after a guy with only 1 year left like a Fielder. I'm not speculating on anyone specific, but I think it'd have to be someone with multiple years left, in addition to a prospect or two.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) God it would be great if he tore up the AFL like Morel did last year, and then started off '11 in AA. He's probably penciled in to be starting off 2011 in AA as it is right now anyways.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) I've thought about this...but really, I can't see KW giving up 2 years of D1 for 1 year of Fielder at a higher cost. It's just not like him. If he trades Danks, which I wouldnt put past him, it would be for an impact bat now with at least one high upside prospect. Danks is one of the better young lefties in the league and is signed relatively cheap (arbitration) for two more years. He should rightfully command a boatload for him.
  11. Konerko should be getting some serious consideration for MVP
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) Was worried when I saw this: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I keep getting this over and over too.
  13. What did Teahen do? All Gameday says it was a force out at third
  14. Good job Lexi. Gives a little bit of breathing room.
  15. Now THIS is where you need to be laying down a bunt.
  16. QUOTE (SnB @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) We cracked open our bottle of Buehrlot last night. It was FANTASTIC. I have a bottle of that. Haven't found a good enough reason to open it yet though.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) And if Jackson pitches anything close to the way he has with us, he'd be the #1 starter. Well I was just stating it like such if we were to place Danks as the #1. Obviously MB would be the worst (imagine that, wow...) of the group but you can't have him and Danks back to back in the rotation
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) Here's to hoping Manny becomes the AL player of the month in SeptemberWorld Series MVP. Fixed.
  19. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 11:31 AM) And that's fine if KW thought that, he is the GM and he has all the say in this matter. But as a fan, I dont have to blindly follow and believe in all of his moves. I personally believe that this trade put the Sox in a worse position next year considering the financial state of the team and the void of young, cheap replacements for expensive players. A rotation of Danks/Peavy/Floyd/Buehrle/Jackson for a full season could be simply incredible.
  20. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 11:18 AM) Somebody will snag him if he's on waivers. Yeah that is somewhat surprising actually.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 12:24 AM) Wow, that is a straight up shock right there. It's obviously only because he's a Venezuelan.
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 10:48 AM) Just because you're not sure what you have in Hudson doesnt mean you trade him for that value. Edwin may have held alot of value to the White Sox, but that doesnt mean he had alot of value on the market. Thus, it was a fine idea to trade for him, just not at the price we paid. Obviously, you disagree, Im just saying I wouldve offered Holmberg and one of Flowers/Morel/Danks2, and maybe a throw in lower level guy. One, you don't know that. That is simply your opinion. Two, the D-Backs probably would have said no. Do you honestly think Kenny started the negotiations by using his best trade chip? That's generally not how that stuff starts off.
  23. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) Sox lineup: Pierre LF Vizquel 2B Rios CF Konerko 1B M. Ramirez DH Teahen 3B Jones RF Castro C A. Ramirez SS Garcia P QUOTE (kane0730 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 10:19 AM) Per Cowley: Manny hitting 5th. He doesn't list the rest of the line-up. Soxtalk > Cowley

    QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 01:34 AM) 1) Dolphins are seen as "cleaner" animals because of their water habit, and the friendliest/most intelligent because of their performances at places like SEA WORLD 2) The Miami Dolphins, there's no professional or collegiate team with the moniker "PIGS" I am sure, anywhere in the world 3) Dolphins are beautiful to watch in their natural habit, and among the fastest and most streamlined/aerodynamic animals 4) There are no world religions that consider eating dolphin to be unclean or unkosher...kind of a reverse argument on its face, but it supports the overall point, since nobody around the world really loves to eat dolphin in the first place unless there's no choice 5) People have been conditioned to eating pig meat for centuries http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_Chops
  25. I'm excited about the hitters we're sending. I thought the limit was 6 though? Guess not. If anyone hears anything about who we're sending to the "Junior AFL" that'd be great to hear too.
