  1. A group of us are gonna be the Chilean miners
  2. It was obvious Thornton would be back, but I wasn't sure on Castro. I'm glad he is back as he's a proven backup catcher and he played great in that role this year.
  3. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) That would be awesome. I couldn't imagine what you saw and would like to learn more about that place - you might quite possibly could be the best tour guide of anyone. WEEEEE!! We get a documentary from Flaxx! I'm actually kind of fired up for this one... Me as well. I would love to visit the Galapagos one day so info/pics of your trip would be very cool.
  4. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Oct 22, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) Yeah, I'm sure they'll take it slow. It's almost a guarantee that he will be Pierre's replacement. He will see the first pitch of the Sox 2012 season. That's not really taking it slow. 2011 will basically be his first year trying to work his way through our system.
  5. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Oct 22, 2010 -> 03:07 AM) It's one of my personal never do's. My personal bro code (one of many). I don't do anything if they are together or even broken up no matter how hot the chick is. I've even had females who would have been very tight lipped about it all along (together or not with my guy), and still never did it. Weirdest one though was something involving one of my best friend's mother, but that's another story. Which you now have to say! As for the other part, I'm the same. I did break that rule one time though with one of my friend's exes but I knew her before they got together and he cheated on her multiple times, hence why they broke up, so I didn't feel bad about it.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 22, 2010 -> 08:07 AM) It's Always Sunny was hilarious. I thought it was fair. The League was great last night though. And again, I thought Outsourced was quite funny.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) In hindsight yeah...it's not like we were going to get better for Jittery Javy (we coulda had Melky Cabrera!), there's still some chance Flowers pans out, but overall, Young has been worth 8.2 WAR for the D-Backs, Javy contributed 14.9 WAR for the Sox. Javy got paid more but Young earned a big contract early that the D-Backs are "stuck with" if he doesn't pick it up. You're going to be hard pressed to succeed arguing that either side won big time there. My point was countering the argument that it was another of KW's "awful moves"
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) we give up premium talent to get these guys and then dump 'em off on another team when ozzie doesn't like them for mediocre packages. Really? Chris Young hasn't exactly been a star. He's had a couple decent seasons but i wouldn't say he's premium talent. Plus, it's not like Javy didn't continually s*** the bed in the clutch when he was here. Flowers and Gilmore were both highly thought of prospects from an organization that historically drafts well. It's hard to really complain too much about either end of that trade.
  9. QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 12:56 AM) Gross...Outsourced picked up for a full season. Good job NBC. I've actually found it funny.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) They do that in pawnshops in IN, I wonder if it is to try to catch stolen materials? I'm guessing it's to prevent kids under 17 from returning MA-17 games they weren't supposed to buy in the first place, but I mean come on. It was two sports games and I'm in my mid-20's. Give me a break. NY sucks sometimes. I really wanted toplay FIFA last night too! haha
  11. So i went to trade in a couple games yesterday to pick up Fifa '11 and couldn't because I didn't have my ID on me. They said it's a state law (NY). Why? Is that the case out in IL too?
  12. The 30 for 30 last night, Once Brothers, was incredibly well done.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 13, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) Rosetta stone is interactive software, not something you could do while driving. The entire thing, aside from set-up menus, is in the native language. There's no vocabulary lessons or translations or grammar. It's supposed to be a more "natural" way of learning a language. I have the software and I started a few lessons, but then I was traveling a bunch and kinda forgot about it. Ah ok thanks. Still something I may be interested in down the road. I'll still probably look into something audio for the car
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 06:12 PM) Somehow, Rosetta Stone works. Granted, I had 2 years of Spanish that is scattered throughout my memory in high school, and I don't know how it'd work for a non-Romance language, but I've only been using it for about 4-5 days and it's starting to stick. How are you doing it? Cuz i'd love to try something out in my car for my trips to and from work (45 mins each way). I can already speak French and have actually heard Italian is easy to pick up if you can speak that already.

    Dexter

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 11, 2010 -> 12:18 PM) cant wait to see how Dexter manages to get out of this mess.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Yeah. But they still suck. I got it done though, so I'm good. One of my majors was in history so i've written a lot of papers. I actually didn't mind the intro/conclusion paragraphs. I usually knew what I wanted to say, it was just figuring out how to deliver it and make yourself sound smarter/more sure than you really were haha
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) I feel the same way, but I have brothers who are 3 and 6 years younger than me. I wouldn't date a girl their ages (or younger, obviously) because it would be blatantly obvious to me that I'm out of my zone. If I were with a girl around those ages, I'd be thinking the entire time that this girl is my brother's age. Honestly, that was an issue at first, especially when you realize you have cousins her age who you once babysat for. But at least for me, once I got to know her the weirdness just went away. As cliche as it sounds, age can really just be a number.
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) I don't know. Am I the only one who has been disappointed with almost all of the Always Sunny episodes so far? I thought last week was amazing, but the other three episodes this season have been sub-par
  19. QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) the eps always have a couple laughs in it. And for a filler between the office and always sunny, that's all i'm looking for. It'll probably get old, but for now I'm enjoying it.
  20. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) I was going to post a couple of weeks ago but I got really busy and forgot to. Anyway I now can see why I never want to be in relationships while learning a valuble lesson about trying to date too young of girls. This story with this girl started this year when I coached her in softball, lol yeah I know it's an odd way to start but she was a senior and already 18 and I'm 24. Needless to say we started talking a lot after the season was over. Then she broke up with her boyfriend and we started seeing each other. It was a couple good months and the Sox were playing awesome ball, life was great. Then she decided she might want to get back with her ex and took a few days to decide. Eventually she decided not to get back with him and we continued seeing each other again, although I was being extremely cautious because if it happened once, it could easily happen again. And it did happen again earlier last month. She told me she never was over him and still loved him even though I was the most perfect guy she could ever ask for. We had a lot of arguments about this whole situation which is understandable, but after a while we started getting along. Then her birthday came up 2 weeks ago and I decided to mail her a dozen flowers just for one last shot because I knew it'd either work out really well, or not well at all and she's probably want to stop talking to me. She ended up loving them, but hating the situation because her boyfriend got extremely pissed off. Which I obviously knew would happen. So now we're at a crossroad tonight because her boyfriend and her get into arguments about me. She's getting sick of hearing about it and tonight we're going to have a discussion on the phone which I assume will be about stopping all contact. We had this discussion last week and I told her if she wants to stop contact, it has to be for good and not just for the time being. I told her other things to think over and she has. But all signs point to her ending it. Which kind of sucks, but on the other hand might be for the best. I've learned my lesson about 19 year olds now. They're way too immature and they have no idea what they want in life. For some reason she's infatuated with this guy and he is a jerk according to most people. I don't know the guy so I'm not going to say if he is. But I'm sure he thinks I'm a jerk for sending flowers to his girlfriend. Anyway that's my story. Tonight is probably going to end it for good. Wow. I pretty much could have written that almost word for word (like literally, even the white sox part). So I know exactly what you're going through. Sucks. Just add a couple years to both of our ages and drop the coached her in softball part haha. I don't get why it's so hard for girls to get over guys who cheat on them repeatedly and what not. They must feel they can fix them. Slight difference is that I'm avoiding contact with her. Which of course becomes difficult when you get random text messages saying they were thinking about you or miss you. Ugh. edit: by the way, aren't you the other Chiefs fan on this board too?
  21. I don't know why, but I'm loving Outsourced.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 02:52 AM) Writing conclusions for papers f***ing sucks It's essentially just saying why you're introductory paragraph is correct.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 12:57 AM) Is this really necessary? Hahaha i thought the same thing. I'm actually rooting for the Twins. I despise the Yankee$ more than any other team in sports and due to my friends and where I live it's almost unbearable for me every time they win the Series.
  24. I caught up on The Event last night. I actually like the show. At first i kinda hated the end of episode 1 and wished it didnt go in that direction, but I'm liking it so far after watching the next two episodes.
