Ozzie convinced he'd get another job if fired

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) Sorry sir, but taking him seriously when he says something like that makes you a moran. -
Charlotte shut out. Viciedo picked up a couple hits and Danks didn't have any strikeouts.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 08:04 AM) It is with conservatives. Wrong.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 09:09 AM) Romero had never faced the Sox before. I know, but it was as if no research was done on the guy at all. I'm not saying that was the case, but some of the at-bats looked so pathetic that thought came to me several times throughout the game.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 08:55 AM) There aren't enough LOL smilies in the world to properly address how silly this is. Romero was Absolutely sick last night, you could see it from the first inning. That's a game against that team that pretty much any team on any night is going to lose, 99% of the time. As good as Romero was though, I don't think our team came out prepared for this at all. It was as if they had never seen him pitch before. AJ, Beckham, Quentin, Andruw and Teahen had some pathetic looking at bats.

Honestly, yeah, he probably should have toned that down a little bit, but I don't see it as that big of a deal. His overall point of course will be lost but he is absolutely right. And of course since this is Ozzie the media will probably make a bigger deal out of it than it needs to be.

This place is getting ridiculous and unbearable.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) Can Vizquel play a whole game? He might have to take a nap in the 5th. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) Pfff, are you kidding me? I suspect you think all hitters should hit 1.000. Bobby had excellent stuff and was getting squeezed. That last pitch sequence was f***ing nasty. Thank you. I agree with a lot of people that he didnt look great last night, but to me that was due to poor command. His actual stuff looked fine. The change he got Lind on to end the game was great. A good 11 or 12 mph less than his FB and late diving low and away action on it. That's close to unhittable for left-handed hitters. The first cutter he threw also looked really good to me. I didn't even realize he added one of those. The problem was obviously command, but I also don't think he was mixing his pitches enough. He can't just use cutter, cutter, FB. He needs more of that change and has to throw his curve more often than once in two innings.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:52 AM) Bobby pretty much blew the save in the last Twins game. He got bailed out my a terrrible choice by the Twins 3rd base coauch. I find Rock Raines confidence in a closer that's been showing signs of regression for years and is putting too many men on base to be more alarming then it is charming. He basically made one bad pitch the entire inning. Pretty sure you can't count on any closer to make perfect pitches every single pitch. God this is getting tiring.

I have a question - why was Pierre not given credit for a SB in the extra innings? They called it fielders indifference. Thing is though, it's not as if we were down 5 runs and his run didn't matter. We were up only 1. By allowing him second base it put another RISP with no outs and removed the DP and force out play. Hawk also said that they would not have gotten him even with a throw and that they were holding him on at first. Doesn't matter in the scheme of things but to me that should have been credited as a SB.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) i guess i wasnt that impressed with the flashforward episode last week...i watched it twice too.... No, i think it worked and personally didnt see it coming at all. And that movie is one of my all-time favorites anyways so that wouldnt even bother me if I thought that.

Ozzie please resign, I know you can't sit through this again

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) My expectations were lowered in the off season by who they obtained. Sure they can move around the bases better but this team will not be able to match up against Boston or New York in the post season. If you have pitching you can match up with anyone in the post-season. -
The Tudors started up last night. This season looks like it could be really good.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) Heard this theory today: I dont believe that, but it would be an interesting double-twist. I could see that actually. Last week got me so pumped for this week. Anxiously awaiting Thursday now for the first time in a while.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) Also, I didn't know Andruw Jones spoke English so well. English is one of a few official languages in Curacao so most people who are from there can speak it. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Thank god the third base coach/Hardy bailed us out. Jenks just looks awful out there. Did you watch the inning or just look at the box score? He got 2 easy outs, his fastball was hitting 96 with nice movement and Hardy's single was a blooper off of a broken bat. Thome smoked one on a bad pitch, but AJ didn't call a great sequence to him either. He looked fine.

The #2 and #5 spots in the lineup...

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) I just timed Perez's delivery, got somewhere between .9 to 1.1 seconds (from leg kick to release). Not Mr. Speedy. Pierre's chances of getting a steal there would have been pretty decent. Theres a reason pitchers like Mark Buehrle, Andy Pettitte, Kenny Rogers etc never had people attempting to steal on them very often. Just saying. -
Thome now plays for another team, if you don't want to give him a cheer thats completely fine. Personally, i'd give him a cheer his first time walking to the plate. But if anyone boos him tonight they should feel embarrassed.

Who will be the last Sox starter to get a hit?

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:01 AM) Not really. I don't view Teahen as any offensive upgrade over Getz, but Getz at least brought more speed. Also. Getz costs considerably less money. Well that's incredibly foolish then. -
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) Agree 100%. I didn't see that coming at all.
