QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) Rays sign Anderson. 4 years/3.75 mil That's it? Wow. Would have thought he'd get more than that.
-
Hilarious. Avery gets suspended for talking about "sloppy seconds" while Matt Cooke get's off free for a late, unecessary, blindsided intent to injure hit to the head. Colin Campbell is such a joke.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 07:30 AM) We need a kap response generating program. It's always different.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Who else is as excited to check out the Discovery Channel series "Life" which premiers March 21st? I'll probably DVR it. It looks like it could be quite interesting.

QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 11:35 PM) Hudson throwing well, but Guillen wants him to begin season as starter in Triple A. Sox manager wants him ready to step in if hole develops in rotation Good. I completely agree with this.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) Huh? He is one of 3 players reassigned. He gets to stick around ST while reassigned? Don't they usually? I seem to remember every year looking at box scores late in spring training and seeing some really strange names in them.

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) Is Mitchell starting again this week? In any split squad games? QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) Was sent down already. He'll probably still get some occasional at bats, especially late in ST when the roster decisions are made.

AJ being booed in Phoenix? During Spring Training? ahahahah
-
Eric Chavez is still playing???

Matt Cooke is a piece of s***. Players like him make me despise Gary Bettman even more for the stupid new instigator rules.

wish we could go find this guy again...

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 09:25 AM) 'more promise' as in for this year. which I'm aware I left completely unclear. The big thing with me is Myrow hasnt had the MLB opportunities Botts has had. But again, I admittedly am going off a career stats sheet Botts is 29 with a total of 280 some major league at bats. This thread is hilarious. -
Still not really loving the flash sideways but the on-island stuff was great. Michael Emerson's speech to Ilana was fantastic.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) UCONN playing with a sense of urgency... What a load of crap they've been this year. Inexcusable.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 12:50 PM) Or maybe there will be some good-looking single girls there who can see how SWEEEEEEET he was for being there. I know most of her friends. Not really much incentive for me there.

Viciedo loafing draws the attention of KW

QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) I could be wrong but, I don't think we control him for 6-years like a typical minor leaguer. We signed him to a major league contract. Someone found it a while back. We control him through his arb years still. I'm positive about it. The fact that he was signed to a major league contract is irrelevant. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) Never like seeing guys get injured, especially good people, but I ain't shedding a tear. This.

Ok so a friend of mine just invited a bunch of us to his baby shower. First off, isn't this weird? I was always under the impression this wasn't for guys. I really don't want to go to this but without a legitimate excuse not to, I kind of feel obliged. Is it socially acceptable to just send a gift with someone you know is going?

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 01:41 AM) Even though it was a one time minor infraction against the team´s wotk ethic, you gotta hustle for that kind of money. If this kid is a bust this year then there will be serious calls to cut him. And signing Boras after only one year if true is a terrible move on his part because he has proved nothing yet. No there won't. People forget how young he still is. -
QUOTE (Cknolls @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 11:59 AM) We deserve it! Hopefully Illinois, California, New York and some others go bankrupt. That will be the only way we can affect the change needed to become fiscally sane. New York needs a governor who doesnt care if he gets re-elected. The situation is so f***ed up right now that whoever is governor is gonna need to make unpopular choices. Of course having Patterson didn't help. I'm sure the guy tried but he was never qualified to be a governor.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) Has anyone pitched a no-no in this series yet? I had 2008's version and got to the 8th twice, but both times my pitcher lost his energy and I was lucky to get it across the plate. I pitched one in 2008 with Josh Johnson.

Depending on whether or not Connecticut can get a couple upsets, I might be heading down there later this week for the quarterfinals and semis.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) This is also probably important enough to stress. He's 22 currently, turns 23 in May. His innings the last 3 years: 102 92 @ ODU, 69 @ Great Falls, 161 total. Last year, 147 between 4 levels. 150 innings isn't a bad place for an arm to be starting at. But...Dropping him back to 50 innings so that Ozzie can use him in the bullpen...that's a step backwards, not forwards. Great point. I'd also like to refrain from treating him the way the Yankees have with Joba Chamberlain. If you feel Hudson can be a solid starting pitcher for years to come, don't rush him for the sake of putting him in the pen. Let him remain a starting pitcher in AAA as insurance if one of our starters goes down.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) Those stories are crazy. I think I remember a similar one about someone who left NYC after 9-11 and ended up in the middle of Katrina. They still have nothing on this guy
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) He is...he's really low on the Sox SP Depth Chart. Where we got all these odd-named stud starting pitching prospects is beyond me. He is? I checked the rosters of the AAA and AA teams and did not see him. Maybe I somehow just overlooked him.

QUOTE (SI1020 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) Last year with the Sox Alex Rios .199/ .229 /.301/ .530. Dewayne Wise .225/ .262/ .366/ .628 Rios has given me at least plenty of reasons to be concerned. He looked awful last year. I hope it was just a real long and bad slump. He just turned 29 and has had a couple all-star seasons already. He wasn't even that bad last year. Just when he was with us, which was a whole 40 some games. With Toronto he had decent, albeit far from spectacular, numbers. I'd expect him to bounce back and am really not too worried about it.
