“I told them, let’s slow the testing down please.” Don’t care if he said he was joking.

-
Let me ask you this. Whose fault is it for the experience your son has had? The teachers, the administrators or someone else? Because it damn well better not be the teachers with what they are working with.
-
No need to be angry about it and blame the teachers for the online learning (unless you blame administrators and Pritzker). I never said the bolded either. Every school is a bit different, the math classes require retakes for a better grade and the teachers clearly know when they are cheating. If school continues, the kids better wear masks and be social distanced away from each other. I’m not sure how sports will be handled either. We’ll see what Illinois does.

My wife is a high school teacher and we have been left wondering what to do. It seems tough trying to have everyone to go back at once without a staggered start, or starting in person and doing an online component. I don’t think we can trust the kids to wear masks, be socially distanced in classrooms and expect teachers to wear face shields. I think they might be going to school to start but the bulk of the first semester may be at home online. Then maybe when the vaccine comes out then in person classes will resume.

It seems odd that he is holding campaign rallies during a pandemic and wants to slow testing down. No matter how he spins things, COVID-19 is going to be an issue in America even after the election and it is impacting people who are vulnerable. I can’t support the approach he has taken with the virus as of late and how he shows a complete disregard for science and that community. I can criticize him fairly, even though I know he only cares about his base and not moderate independents like me.

BNSF is a great line to take in. Check out homes in Woodridge, Lombard, Bolingbrook, Westmont or Downers Grove. It can’t hurt to see what is available with how easy the commute is if she’s taking the train in (there are direct rides to the city in rush hour).

This I will acknowledge.

It makes me wonder if phase four will happen in July or August.

Source? I thought that was another poster’s plan.

Just to confirm, Biden’s platform doesn’t include a dollar amount for reparations in his plan for black America. The only person proposing payments in the primaries was Maryanne Williamson and we saw how well her electoral chances played out. He said he would study them. His plan is more about investment than anything. https://joebiden.com/highlights-from-joe-bidens-agenda-for-the-black-community/

Contrary to what has been posted, I am proud to see peaceful protests in Downers Grove and the police officers responding well: https://www.nbcchicago.com/top-videos-home/suburban-police-offices-kneel-with-protesters/2283848/?fbclid=IwAR21az4dTXRGLm3X2SC0lk8dkBoL9f1OlmvSN-4i-SYljVzu3Al7PyPYIyo The Downers Grove mayor has been a leader in promoting peace and a peaceful response too. He’s doing a great job.

Why have partisans become so toxic? Was it this bad during the Clinton and Bush years?
-
Right now he has responded saying I don’t like people with differing opinions, which is wrong. I’m a moderate who likes hearing both sides, but I don’t like seeing the same shit over again that has been discussed. Now he’s bringing up whataboutism on Trump even though the president is mentioned at different angles and not the same points over and over again with the VP nominee. He seems to have an issue with masks and wants to open the economy with no restrictions tomorrow. And he appears to have points about several of us collectively. Let’s see what he has that is new to say and if he continues attention seeking. I can listen to opposing viewpoints and debate issues, but not restated points. Otherwise, next.
-
Yeah I’m starting to be done with his shit. He doesn’t listen to anyone, keeps reiterating the same points, whines incessantly and seems to come on here for affirmation about his positions. It’s a free country and he’s just one man, so he can freely do what he wishes and his views aren’t representative of everyone else in his camp. It’s also not worth having a conversation with someone who doesn’t respond to points being made, answer questions or even answer why he talks in third person.

Political candidates all have flaws because of long careers and what is found in opposition research. You can think what you want about those candidates, but your views are not representative of the entire voting block. I’d rather give voters more credit to analyze candidates for the nomination and come up with better reasoning for why they think multiple candidates would be fits rather than relying on celebrities or the former First Lady (who again, has no interest in politics) to be the Vice President. Give some people more credit than just focusing on one person, a celebrity and former First Lady. You seem so concerned about the VP pick, yet you seem to think that an actual convention would involve both First Ladies and believe it is an automatic win over Trump? Wow.

Knock yourself out, but it is going to be one of these women. Why can’t Harris handle it? Why do you feel the need to bring up Abrams repeatedly? She likely doesn’t have the experience needed and won’t be the pick. Why the hell are you so anxious about her being the VP? You also didn’t read what I said about Obama. She doesn’t want to be in politics. If they chose Warren, Trump would love it and could label Biden and her as a socialist. Warren needs to be a senator because the Republican Governor will replace her with someone from his party, plain and simple. You’re ridiculous. Look at the context without your own feelings and bias. He was being lighthearted at the end and made a random and stupid comment. It will be used in attack ads but it will blow over and the whataboutism wars will persist.

Was a segregationist or worked with senators who were? I know what Harris mentioned with busing but if there is more I am not aware of, let me know. He has such a long political history that I haven’t focused on his record way back when. Biden’s tone is exactly how it had been in the debates and is consistent with how he had been as VP. His answers were long and needed to be directed towards what he will do now. They need to have a longer interview next time and he needs to talk about policies moving forward, since I am guessing the Breakfast Club is for a younger audience. I wouldn’t worry about Abrams, I don’t think she’s getting it. I’m not sure why you have an issue with Harris, but she is qualified. Klobuchar is a moderate but I just don’t see her as VP. There’s not a chance in hell that Gabbard is VP, I don’t know why some gravitate towards her. Michelle Obama is not going to be the VP either, she has no interest in it.
-
I watched the whole interview. It wasn’t Biden’s best performance, but there were a few issues with the interview: - Biden needed to tailor his responses towards what he will do now, since young voters and older voters alike want to know about now and not the record. So he needs to spell out plans for now that will help black Americans and not just the ones in prison. - His staffer needed to schedule out more time, interrupting for Biden’s wife to use the video didn’t help matters. - Biden needed to finish differently, even though I think he was being lightheaded with the host at the end of the interview and I don’t think Biden made the last comment come out the way it did, even though it will be taken that way. He needs to clean things up when interviewing and consider how his remarks will be used in attack ads. You’re right, one block of voters should not be taken for granted.
