  1. Maybe this will just confuse the heck out of Oakland and we can snaek by them??? Iguchi hurts from last night? Ya know, it is almost sad to read what the old players used to go through, and then seeing what takes out the modern player. Honus Wagner is rolling in his grave I bet about the modern day athlete.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) Cmon Freddy, 27 k day. Either that or "27 cans of corn".
  3. I think we should just have some real fun and play Paulie at SS.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) It's for real..... Scott Podsednik, LF Willie Harris, 2B Carl Everett, DH Paul Konerko, 1B Jermaine Dye, RF Aaron Rowand, CF A.J. Pierzynski, C Chris Widger, 3B Joe Crede, SS If we win with this line-up, I am going to start saving and planning to be at every single World Series game this year! Obviously, nothing will stop us if we win today.
  5. Crede has been doing O.K. at third, IMO. I'm a little lost on Widger being at third. But I guess I would have no idea as to who to put at SS if I stuck Crede back there. Well, I would probably do the ol' Harris at SS (I can look past the blunder last night) and Iggy at 2nd, depending on why on earth he isn't there to begin with. I guess AJ is O.K. now. Or atleast toughing it up.
  6. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) No, really, this would be the worst way. HA!!! Now I get it. I'm slow on the uptake in my older years.
  7. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) Ozzie must want to win this game in the worst way! Green???
  8. That is a REAL tough one to kick to man! During my diet time, those were my junk-food of choice! No fat, all sugar, the claories burn off fast when you exercize! Plus, no doubt about it, the best Gummi Bear out there! The rest are just forms of fruit snacks.
  9. This year the Giants are pretty much garaunteed to be the first team in the MLB to reach the 10,000 wins mark. Do you think this milestone event should get mass coverage, or should it just get a minor mention in the California area? I understand that if every team sticks around, then they will all make it to this point. But it seems to me this is more of a milestone for the MLB than it is for JUST the Giants. It has only taken 122 years to get to this point, so it really is no big deal...I guess. (yes, I know this is for the Giants since their inception, and is going along with the change in cities)
  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) Gotta try Kid's recipe now, too. I expect reports from you folks that are going to give this a shot. It will cost you about $20, but you will also be able to make quite a few samiches, and you can obviously freeze the left-overs.
  11. I need your email addresses. It should be an even 20 dang it.
  12. Don't we also need to have somebody else erect some buildings right outside the park so that we can charge their tenants to sit on the roof?
  13. I don't really blame the Umps or Willie. Sometimes we get calls, sometimes we don't. Willie was out there cold and is not normally a SS. He looked awkward getting to the ball even. I blame it all on poor play last night. We eventually had to lose, and there is was. We played poorly, and the result this time was what happens when you play poorly. Both teams actually looked terrible last night, so maybe it was something in the air. My concern is that we have had two games very recently now where the defense fell apart in a terrible way. One of them we won, one we lost. I am just hoping that it isn't a sign of the defense starting on a slump before the bats really get going.

Yeah, they need buddies. I should get another one to hang with Road, but she is getting old and crabby, so it might backfire. Plus she has been alone for awhile. If you do get another one, I would do it soon after. I am really sorry about this. Losing a pet is never easy, and this route is really tough. It's hard to get your mind to fully accept that the only reason you are doing what you are doing is out of love for the animal.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) Damnit.. I just realized several of my work passwords have versions of sam's legal name.. My cat was named "Ghidorah" after the three headed dragon in the Godzilla movies. My house is FULL of Godzilla toys, posters, books, magazines...you name it, and there is a movie with him in it on atleast once a week in my house. Names will haunt you. Odd thing though, my wife named the cat...not me.
  16. http://www.panicstruckpro.com/revelations/ This is a fan film that actually is pretty dang successful at being close to the films, as far as FX are concerned. I downloaded the DVD version over the past few days, and have watched a few minutes of it. Visually they pull it off, with some images that are too soft, but kind of expected for what they attempt to pull off. I am sure they kept some of the images as they are to help cover up the lack of Lucas style funding. The acting and casting choices are typical of these types of indie films. Stilted or overacted, you get both. From the little bit watched, they did a pretty good job with Vader. I plan to watch the full thing tonight and will give you a full rundown on it tomorrow. But for you Star Wars fans out there, you might want to check it out. Also of interest to SW fans:
  17. You know how "we" got f'ed over last night? The game was on the West Coast and started late enough that I didn't get to see the end of the game and went to bed before I could see the ending. I hate that.
  18. That is sooooo cool!!! Honestly, I think I would have a hard time cashing it in! I am such a nut for old stuff, that I would find it cool to just look at the dang things. I would definetly keep one bill of each though. My wife would snag the rest and cash it in.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) He's mostly white with tan markings. I'll take a picture of him before I take him tomorow.. I have a ton of regret about the picture situation with Ghidorah. Since she was soooo skittish, the only pictures of her that exist are the ones of her when she was a kitten. Nobody ever saw her after that. Now my other cat, Roadkill, that dang thing has millions of pictures because she is such an attention hog.

Sounds VERY similar to my old situation. Perfectly healthy cat, no place will take the cat, no claws, spite, too old...doesn't like kids. Is Sam an orange cat? Maybe Ghidorah's spirit went to Sam when she passed.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) Kid.. is it peaceful..? He wont feel any pain will he..?? s***.. I just feel like crap over this. I don't understand why the behavior has changed so drastically. He has never once had an accident before. And him and the dogs get along fine.. I just don't get it. I'm so sad.. No, it doesn't seem painful at all. I don't want to describe it too much. I also understand your situation somewhat. We had a cat last a few years ago, Ghidorah, and she was a VERY skittish cat. She spent most of her time in hiding. But she also almost never used the litter box in her 10 years. We were always finding her using anything else. When my son was born, he was the type of kid who put everything in his mouth. I thried EVERYTHING I could to try and cure the cat. Pills to calm her down, tried giving her a bathroom to herself to live in, where I would go and spend a ton of time with her to try and make her less skittish (I was one of the ones she DIDN'T like for some reason). But nothing worked. We couldn't have her still doing this with the new kid, plus we were in a brand new house that no longer smelled new, but rather smelled of kitty pee. My wife had finally had it, and after I had called every place in the Chicagoland area to see if they would take a cat, and was refused by evereybody, my wife took the cat in. My wife was the one the cat liked the most. But we decided that even if we did find a place to take her, with as neurotic as she was, it would have been a greater torture. Before you decide 100% to take the steps you are thinking of taking, check all of your resources. You might be able to find a happy medium between you and your cat. If he does like carpet, look into trying to find a place for him to use, and see if he sticks to those areas. Or if you have a spare room, try giving the cat a little place of his own. It might seem like torture to give the cat a room to live in, but some cats are rather comfortable in that situation. My cat was living in a bathroom, but she actually seemed to like being all by herself with nothing to freak her out. But if you do have to take your steps, it does not appear painful at all. Plus keep it in mind that you have probably done all you can. Living with a cat having accidents is VERY hard to deal with. Trust me, I was there for almost 10 years.
  22. Maybe Jon got a bonus for pitching so great in the early parts of this year and chose to spend the money wisely.

Sorry to hear. Yes, you can be with the critter. I had to put my dog down a few years ago, and I will warn you it was the hardest thing I have ever done. After she was gone, I just sat in the room with her for about a half hour. She was the dog I had since I was a kid, and she was the most unique puppy you could ever find. Hell, I'm tearing up right now thinking about her. She lived to be 17 though. It'll be hard, but if it needs to be done, know that you will be there with the critter and that you have done all you can. I know my cat is nearing the end, due to liver problems, and it sounds as if she and Sam would get along fine. Same types of cats. Hang in there.
  24. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:27 AM) Personally I wouldn't have anything with peppers or anything spicy inside of a sandwich, and I'm not even a huge sandwich person anyway. Something with just ham or chicken or beef, with some cheese, lettuce, mayo is probably up my alley. Well, once you are done cooking it, throw the peppers out. They lose all of their flavor, and they actually taste pretty bad after the cook. My wife HATES peppers, and almost threw up when she saw me dump the jar into the pot. BUT she was a trooper and decided to have a sandwich when it was done. She ended up having two and said it was by far the best Italian Beef she ever had.
  25. I have hear that as soon as you are done with the drilling though, the relief of the pain is so great that the drilling is nothing.
