  1. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) what about the chipper that saddam's sons used to torture soccer players?? but definitely put him in feet first.... Anything. Just get the f***ing bastard off of the planet that I occupy.
  2. 12 and 4...this is crazy. Did ANYBODY expect this year to start this way? Seriously? I was expecting them to be trying to find themselves still, and to come alive later this year! Hopefully they will just continue to get better!
  3. What's a real shame is that there seems to be a bunch of lovely beer sitting all over the place saying "drink me", and this goof goes for the napalm in a glass. Idiot.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 06:07 AM) Jailhouse Rock - Elvis Presley (US) That’ll Be The Day - The Crickets (UK) Two classics. Wow! You get the award for extreme coolness!!! That rules!
  5. I am looking for a bit of advice. I trust the people in this board to actually give intelligent responses. We found out we have a man convicted of aggravated sexual assualt against a girl between the age of 9-12 living in our neighborhood. He just moved in very recently, and we found out due to my wife and a few others constantly checking online for this type of info. He was in jail in Texas for 10 years, and is compliant with authorities. He is living in a townhouse with a girlfriend and her kids. My wife and a few others are printing up flyers and placing them on mailboxes in the neighborhood so other parents will know we have him in the area. Is this O.K. legally to do, and what else might you do?
  6. No. 5 seems like such an oddity to have to have on your rider. But this is also the days prior to Led Zep and the true ROCKSTAR mentality took over. The Beatles also though never became more than a garage band, in their own minds.
  7. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) You would think. Do I need tyo repost the link to the bad popes to refresh memories that it hasn't always been the case? :rolly Actually, yeah, I lost it. (I knew you would play into my trap!!!) But those guys were also around in some pretty archaic times. I am not thinking that a modern day Pope is going to be sending his dissenters (sic?) off to be beheaded!
  8. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) So why even post that in this thread? It makes no f***ing sense to me why you would do that. I don't get off on the NFL Draft, but you won't see me posting in that thread just to let you all know that I don't care about it. I stay away. It is beyond me why people that don't "get" something insist on letting everyone know it. Just like anytime a NASCAR thread is begun and here come the "Nascar isn't a sport...Drivers aren't athletes..." bulls***! Have some f***ing class and keep your mouth shut! That's an awful lot of "naughty words" in a religious themed thread. Rock on to the new guy! Hope he does some good, though I am not expecting him to be doing evil stuff. Kind of would go against the job, eh?
  9. Everytime they announce him they announce him as "our own GM".
  10. Nah, for great AC/DC that they should be using, they need to REALLY send a message and use "Kicked In The Teeth". That is by far the most badass song those guys ever recorded.
  11. He was also the evil Dad in Dead Poets Society that drove his kid to suicide. Ooooooh Red.
  12. Steve Phillips. The guy is the GM of ESPN radio...right? Why do I find it so damn funny that he keeps putting himself on as a "guest"? Everytime I hear him I just picture him calling into the show and saying he wants to be on the show, and Mike and Mike just roll their eyes and "play along" with him. What kind of "expert" is he, really?
  13. Do ya think there is a little stamp on it that says "Made In China", or was labor pretty cheap everywhere back then? "Quality Inspected by Oog".
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 06:25 AM) Sometimes we need to remember WHAT the Rules of Life really are. 1. Never give yourself a haircut after three alcoholic beverages of any kind. Some people think it is O.K. to give themselves a haircut at all???
  15. I'm a pessimist, so all I will say is that I would almost rather have any one of our other starters out there tonight instead of Jose. Just my opinion.
  16. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Shock the Monkey was a controversial song/video, before Marilyn Manson and NIN got onto there. It is also still a superior song. NIN and Manson fans, don't get in a tizzy, I like both of those bands, I just think Gabriel did a better job with a message. William, I wasn't addressing you exactly, so much as all of the people that have never heard some REALLY big hits from back then. And yes, I am sure many of the songs you have heard but are just not familiar with the bands and titles. But there have been a few listed that have seriously shocked me for people to have NOT heard or to know the name of. "Come On Eileen" is a song where he says the title almost every single line. I'll list the songs I am surprised got the "never heard of it" if you would like. Trust me though, some of these songs are better to be forgotten. Though "Come On Eilleen" is a cool song...
  17. QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) There's something I see about the 1970's that we lack today. It's not because the decade was anything special, its just that a lot of things changed so radically in the 80s and 90s about the way we did things and the way children grew up. Everyday, I find it so shocking the way that things have changed so radically over the last few years. There is something fitting about how in the 70's people became obsessed with the 50's. Both era's have much in common. The country was realing from wars, yet still immersed in a strange innocence. The 70's had a lot of the 60's grime still all over it, but the nation was still fairly innocent and just happy to be here. I see alot of parallels between the two time periods. Though I think I would have been better suited for the 50's. I was born in 70, so much of the decade I remember. Good for your parents and raising you as they did! My daughter has fallen in love with Sam Cooke all of a sudden! She's only 7 and asking me to put him on when we get in the car. She'll be just fine.
  18. The heck with a moment of silence, lets honor the man as he should be!!! http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Music/04/1...n.ap/index.html
  19. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) November 11th, 1985 USA - We Built This City - Starship UK - A Good Heart - Feargal Sharkey Never heard of either.. O.K., this thread is just driving me insane! How have you people never heard of some of these songs??? How could you have never heard of Starship or that terrible song!?! WOW!!! On a side note with that one, Starship guitarist Craig Chaquico has actually turned into one of the best guitarists working today, and if you like kind of cool Jazz stuff, check him out. A little too "radio friendly Jazz" for me, but still some dang great stuff he has done. QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) September 6, 1977 "Best of My Love" The Emotions. As an Oldies DJ and a general collector of 70s pop in all its awful sequined glory, I'm amazed I don't know this song. I'm surprised by your age that you are as into Bea as you are. I had no idea you were a young kid. But I guess that makes more sense than my slight obsession with Lillian Gish. And your interest in 70's stuff helps make the Bea stuff more understandable.
  20. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) I already know this: May 25, 1982: Ebony and Ivory, McCartney & Wonder. I don't know if I've ever actually heard this song... Huh, obviously you were born then if you have never heard it. You couldn't escape that piece of crap song back in the day.
  21. 5/19/70 (I expect gifts in about a month from a bunch of Sox fans...) American Woman - Guess Who Back Home - England World Cup Squad (UK)
  22. I think this is the game that one of the guys I work with has actually started to believe he is in. He started missing work, staying up all night, talking about it non-stop like it was real. Nobody has seen him since his doctors placed him on lithium. I'm serious. I guess that is a "good recommendation" of sorts as to how good the game is. :headshake
  23. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) Thats why you gotta make sure your packing as well.. Hey, I always pack my own lunch. It costs too damn much to eat out nowdays.
  24. Interesting that they place a certain Pope we have all been talking about ALOT as of late in with the "Bad Popes", when so many people in the world are talking about him going down as a Saint and being one of the greatest human figures (next to Jayne Mansfield...heh) of our times. I guess it depends on which side of the Catholic religion you stand, and on which side of the ideals you walk. Much like how some people call ol' Ronnie one of the best Presidents ever.
  25. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) First, you and I both know that monks don't need any other purpose than making great beer. http://www.geocities.com/paulntobin/papacy.html LOL!!! Yeah, tomorrow night I believe I might be partaking in some holy liquid. I have a monastery just down the road from me, and the Monks all dress like they fell out of The Matrix with long black coats. I think if I was to become a Monk, I would either get into the brewing chapter, or the ones that dress cool. Thanks for the link! I will be checking it out. Bad Popes...could be a cool band name...
