Qwerty, why take the smiling girl out of the sig!?! Easily one of the best sig pics out there. I mean, it works on sooooo many levels, and never crosses into a category of my having to cover up on the work or home computer! It's a great little clip. p.s. This thread is killing my computer with all the vids though. p.p.s. SON of Sven does indeed rule, and it is great to see him!

QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) www.dvdaficianado.com ^^^ probably spelt that word wrong, if anyone knows how to spell it, replace it and go to the URL. My link on page 2 is to my list of the site. http://www.dvdaficionado.com/index.html http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=zombiezilla is my list...again. I do have a bunch of "borrowed" DVD's, but I also don't have any of my wifes, or many of my kids, in my list there. You can add about another 100 for their stuff. Netflix and such are a MUST have for the ones that are OOP, or have been ones I would like to have, but have not NEEDED for the collection, stuff like Riddick.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) What's really funny is that I still have a wall full of the "re-released" Star Wars figures that came out in the mid 90's. At least those are out on display where I can see them. I also have a few other shelves with miscellaneous action figures or models on them. I guess my reasoning is, if they are just sitting in boxes and haven't seen the light of day in over a decade, what's the point of keeping them? Well, I understand the need to sell them for financial reasons. But if you really don't need to sell them, and you have emotional feelings for them, then don't sell them. Even if your kids will never play with them, nor your Grandchildren, they can still be passed down. If they have increased in value now, imagine what they might be worth 50 years from now. Toys will never lose value, as collectors will always exist, and toy collectors (especially ones within a genre) will always be rabid. But if you need to sell, then sell away, and regret just a little.
-
I'm the wrong person to ask, as I still collect toys. But yes, I have parted ways with numerous toys from my childhood (both by my doing and others...ahem...) and have regretted it.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) They're remaking that movie. Thank God! Lord knows the last remake of a movie by that hack Hitchcock was a HUGE success!!!

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) They are by no means main-stream. Well-known to people who want to know them or by name only. They might not be mainstream, but they are FAR from unknown. Ian is also not struggling for money. His side projects, lable, and Fugazi have pretty much set him up. Does the Dischord house still exist? That was always a cool thing he did.
-
Well, weather or not he wants to be famous, there are few who know underground at all who don't know who Ian MaKaye is. The man defined an entire genre of the punk scene, created one of the most important labels in the Punk scene, and turned out Brian Baker. Ian, and Fugazi, are pretty damned well-known.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) Just like the morons who wear the "Big Johnson" T shirts?? We called them "Jocks" in my day.

My question: When did Green Day get a "boatload of talent"??? I guess they can play, but to say they have a bunch of talent is a bit off, IMO. Their stuff is pretty dang SUPER easy to play.

Crows are super cool! Those dang birds are REALLY smart.

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) I listened to Mancow this week for the first time in years. He's gone completely ADD, the show is just a trainwreck of completely random s***. I listened to about 5 minutes of Mancow when he first infested this city, and felt it was a train wreck right away. The fact that man still has a show on the radio says a lot about the stupidty that corrupts our society.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) The ACLU -- supporting free speech, even for its detractors since 1920. But you don't have "free speech" in any school under the college years. Plain and simple. There is no issue here.

Yup, tough thing to do. But I have picked up two fish and a hamster since putting Ghid down. But those types of things just go. Big pets? Not so sure about that one. They always need help moving along.

It's much easier to do this: My DVD list Some of these are review copies from when I was doing reviews and writing.

Savini no longer has the time or desire to be a 100% FX guy. He has his school that takes up much of his time. I believe the last film he did that carried his name for the main FX was Monkey Shines or Two Evil Eyes, and since then, it has been nothing. Even on those films and on Day Of The Dead he was more supervising than anything else. Rick Baker is still more hands on than Savini was in his final films. And also, no, the film was shot in either Toronto or Quebec. I am not sure if the locale is supposed to be Pittsburgh or not, but it was not shot there. Romero was able to use more of the budget that he wanted that way. Plus, on his last shoot for Bruiser, he fell in love with the area, so he went back there. I have refused to read the script, so I am not sure where it takes place though. Plus, rumour has it that the last script that was circulating is quite different than what actually was filmed.
-
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) And since I see Tom Savini is involved in the new one my expectations remain very high. Should be good. Savini did no FX for it though. I believe FX were handled by Greg Nicotero or others from KNB, or connected to them. They were also involved in Day Of The Dead, so their is still a link.

Hmmmm, no talk about it here even...so I am guessing my answer would be a big ol' "NO".

Being slightly connected to Horror films, this is a day I have been dreaming of for 20 years now! There are zombie films out there, and then there are Romero's Zombie films! The only other person alive today that could get me excited about a new zombie flick would be Michelle Soavi who did the amazing Dellamorte Dellamore, but even that is just more out of respect for Soavi as a director. But only Fulci, who is dead now, could even come close to the greatness that a Romero flick holds. And come on, Monkey Shines was a decent thriller. Romero's biggest stumble in his career, IMO, was the last film he did which was called Bruiser. I liked it just fine, and it carried many Romero trademarks, but as we had all waited so long for a new Romero, it was a bit of a let down. Advance word on LOTD is quite good.

QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Just wondering about the "cubing" of the beef... not slices??? just cube it??? Yup. The stuff will just pull apart from the cubes once you are done. It ends up looking somewhat like a pulled pork sandwhich. You can try slicing it, but I wouldn't want to spend that much time trying to cut a raw roast into slices. Plus it will cook too fast in thin slices.

Steff, if you are "The Doable One", who are "The Doables"??? I take it you are the ringleader of the gang?
