6.1IP, 2ER, 7H, 2BB, 6K for Mena on 60/93. He left with a guy on, but Stivors finished the inning with 2Ks to strand the runner.

Xavier Fernandez is on some kind of heater for Bham right now. After a first inning RBI hit, he's batting .543 in July so far (19-35) with 8 XBH and more walks (7) than strikeouts (5). July OPS is over 1.500.

Rodon tagged by the Angels for 6 ER in 4.1IP. 7.36 ERA in 3 starts (14.2IP) so far, thanks in part to a ratio of 9BB to just 11K (and 4HR out of 12H).

Verlander vs. the Sox last year: 10.2IP, 17H, 10R (7ER), 1BB, 7K

The AAA season runs a little longer than lower levels, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him spend the last ~week there. Similar to Colas last year.

Three walks to load the bases with 2 outs in the 8th provided the opportunity for WS to storm back and take the lead. Weaver 2 RBI single, Burke 2 RBI double, Montomgery IBB (lol), Veras RBI single. Dash win 8-7. Burke with an opportunity to tie Montgomery's 2022 on base streak tomorrow. He's been on in every game this season, with the promotion apparently not slowing him down at all. Having Colson batting behind him now probably helps too, not that he seems to need it.

IIRC, the idea was 7-10 games in WS for him. This is game 8 I think, so it'll definitely be odd if he's there too much longer.

I was wondering if Mason Adams would get a start of his own after he didn't piggyback Schultz yesterday... The answer is yes. 5IP, 2R (1ER), 5K, 2H, 0BB. BP doesn't hold the lead though.

I mean, they ended their streak of consecutive games with a HR at a mere 28. Not sure how they'll recover.

The Braves were undefeated at home vs. the Sox until yesterday. They hadn't lost a rubber match all season until today. Baseball ?‍♀️

Barons put their Trust in Tristan in his AA debut, so he stayed in for top 10 after questionable defense gave up the tying run top 9. He pays them back with a scoreless frame, stranding the free runner. Barons fail to score in the bottom half (pop out, Tatum IBB, Popeye GIDP). Top 11 starts with a leadoff walk that also advanced the runner to 3rd on a WP. But then a strikeout, and a fly ball to center right which would have scored the go ahead run if not for a fantastic throw home by Cespedes for the inning ending DP. Bottom 11 starts with a Ramos single to center that probably should have scored Popeye from 2nd, but he held up. A walk to load the bases, and then Mieses walks it off with a base hit down the LF line. Fun win for Bham against the best team in their league. Lots of scouts in attendance apparently, for the Marlins pitching prospect that started the game.
