  1. Game 5: GDD vs. PEJ (Gameday | Live Stream) We have a stream today! Good timing as Cousin makes his first AFL start. Off day for Burke, Montgomery still in the 2 spot, but Ramos (DHing tonight) is now batting 5th. He's hit in every game he's played so far, so maybe that leads to some RBI opportunities.
  2. Veras working with some familiar faces: He went 1-3 batting second and playing LF in a preseason match today. Old friend Micker Adolfo was playing RF. Two more old friends with Gigantes Del Cibao on the other side...Leury Garcia batting leadoff and playing LF, and Hanser Alberto batting second and playing SS. I bet they have some stories to swap. Leury hit a 2 run shot. In more forward looking developments, it looks like Johan Dominguez will be getting in some winter ball innings as he continues to works his way back from TJ. He's on GC with Hanser and Leury, and threw 2IP in his preseason start today. Other winter ball tidbits: Fittingly for a guy who hopes to return to Chicago, Colas is a bull. He hasn't appeared in the preseason yet, likely because the new dad is spending some time with his family (congrats to them!). Luis Mieses and Moisés Castillo are also with the Toros. Juan Carela is on their roster too, but I don't think he's expected to pitch. Lenyn Sosa might play in Venezuela again, but if so it will be later in the season.
  3. Coffey made his first appearance, 1 IP 1H 1K and 1 BB that came around to score. Colson with a 2 RBI single to tie the game in the next inning. Burke has a pair of walks and a HBP, Ramos is 2-4.
  4. Game 3: GDD vs. SCO (Gameday | No Stream) The Dogs picked up their first win, 7-1. Burke led off with a walk and SB before scoring on a 2 out hit for the first run. He also had a single later in the game. Montgomery and Ramos got the day off, and no Sox arms pitched. Game 4: GDD vs. SCO (Gameday | No Stream) Burke, Montgomery, Ramos are the top of the order again against Phillies #14 RHP Christian McGowan.
  5. Sox arms combined for 5IP 0ER 0H 3BB 5K yesterday. Cousin is scheduled to start on Friday, and there should be a live stream for that one.
  6. Leasure threw a perfect 2K 9th to force extras, but the Dogs strand the free runner and the next guy out of the pen got walked off to lose 1-0. Still, a total of 5 no hit innings from Sox arms is cool. Would love to have seen it, but the league doesn't want to invest in streaming the full slate for whatever reason, and all the pitching/prospect folks were at the Tiedemann game.
  7. Eder done after 3IP 0ER 0H 3BB 3K. Ellard pitched a perfect 7th on 10 pitches.
  8. Game 2: GDD vs. SCO (Gameday | No Stream) Eder gets the 8:30 CST start. Burke on the bench after a solid game yesterday, Colson and Ramos are batting 2/3 again. No stream or statcast today, but highlights should still trickle out on Twitter. Fun Fact: The opposing starter is RHP Tekoah Roby (Cards #5), part of the return for Jordan Montgomery who had an excellent playoff start today.
  9. Here's that play: And here's Burke's OF assist: Ramos also had an apparently impressive snag on a 106mph liner, but the camera didn't catch that one. Ramos and Burke both finish 1-4 with a 2B each. Colson was hitless, but the only Desert Dog who didn't strike out. Hit a couple hard, but right at guys.
  10. Burke already has a double, a nice running catch, and an OF assist. Ramos also hit a double, 101 liner in the gap. They have the only two hits against Jobe through 4 and both were stranded.
  11. Game 1: GDD vs. SRR (Gameday | Stream) Burke, Montgomery, Ramos are the top of the lineup today, leading the charge against a RHP Jackson Jobe (Tigers #3/Pipeline #54).
  12. Trying this? Maybe? Fall League Schedule: Link Fall League Streams: Link Arizona Fall League The White Sox AFL class features 8 players (3 position players, 5 pitchers) playing on the Glendale Desert Dogs alongside prospects from the Dodgers, Red Sox, Twins, and Mets: SS Colson Montgomery 3B Bryan Ramos OF Jacob Burke LHSP Jake Eder RHSP Josimar Cousin RHRP Jordan Leasure LHRP Fraser Ellard RHRP Adisyn Coffey Montgomery is the highest ranked prospect participating this year. Him, Ramos, and Eder are looking to make up for lost time from injury, while the relief corps will be trying to demonstrate 40-man readiness against some solid competition. Cousin and Burke will be looking to build off of promising but not eyepopping seasons en route to taking the next step towards the majors. Winter Ball: It will be a little bit before we know the full slate of winter ball participants. Oscar Colas will be there, and Wilfred Veras returns to Estrellas de Oriente for a second year. Both should benefit from extra ABs and OF reps. Veras probably did enough to merit R5 protection as is, but a good showing potentially earns him a close look at ST. The Week Ahead: The Glendale Desert Dogs play six games this week, with an off day on Sunday. Jake Eder is scheduled to start on Tuesday. Live streams should be available for at least Monday (10/2) and Friday (10/6), both are 8:30 CST starts.
  13. Re: Eder, from instructs today
  14. Appreciate the daily threads. I'm biased as a prospect nerd, but it might be worth having a weekly thread or something for AFL and winter ball?
  15. Yeah, that's the point I was making. Unfortunately, someone somewhere along the way happens to be tangentially related to the Sox, so "the Orioles fleeced the Twins for Jorge Lopez last year AND got him back for free to boot" got turned into another retread "White Sox bad" discussion. Ng was just taking a flyer on getting a return for Floro who looked headed for a DFA either way.
  16. He's been playing all 3 OF spots in instructs.
  17. Are they...hyping up our guy? I know he's the only top 20 guy there, but I'll take it if it means they stream a few extra Glendale games.
  18. The Twins DFA'd Dylan Floro today. He was a 1:1 swap with the Marlins for Jorge López at the deadline. The headliner of their trade to get Lopez at last year's deadline, Yennier Cano, has 70 IP with a 2.17 ERA/1.02 WHIP this year for Baltimore...where he has since been rejoined by the guy he was traded for. The O's reclaimed Jorge López after he was waived by the Marlins at the beginning of the month. Talk about selling high/buying low.
  19. I would have re-signed Gio just for netting us Quero and then pickpocketing the Guardians, so him pitching himself back into our price range is just icing on the cake, really.
  20. Despite a great play to get the first out in the 6th... A HBP ends the (combined) perfect game bid after 6.1IP. The subsequent HR ends the no hitter and shutout. Still, Knights up 8-2 after 7.
  21. Matthews follows up with his first AAA homer in his next AB, Knights now up 7-0. Nastrini's first AAA W would be a nice bow on his season.
  22. Jason Matthews got his first AAA hit on an IF single. He and Popeye (single) scored on a Neslony HR. Knights up 3-0 through 6, behind 5 perfect innings from Nasty Nick Nastrini (5IP, 0ER/H/BB, 3K) and a perfect 2K sixth from Solesky...
