  1. Reds radio crew is apparently quite unimpressed by Camelback Ranch. Cannon is apparently unimpressed by the Reds batters, as he retires them in order. Sox return the favor and Lee, Peters, Meidroth go in order too. Antonacci in for Chase, Bergolla in for Colson, Dustin Harris in for Beni on defense. Official word on Acuna is that he left with a cut above his eyebrow that needed to be stitched up. Strikeout and two flyouts for Cannon's second inning. A lot more 4seam in the mix today, and it got him a 6 up/6 down outing.
  2. Leasure's velo was a bit down but he puts up a 0. Single to left, nice catch in right by Peters on what sounded like a would-be XBH, weak grounder, routine flyout. Vargas flyout and then Colson finally gets the Sox on the board with a HR to right center. Nice hard hit single (107 EV) for Acuna, and then Beni just misses tying the game with a deep flyout to left. Acuna steals second but gets scratched up on the slide and leaves the game. Kelenic groundout ends the frame still Reds 3-1.
  3. Hicks still throwing 100, but gave up a 2 run shot on a splitter to Bleday after a grounder to Colson that was too slow to turn two on. Reds 3-0. Decided to stick to the heat in the next AB to K Stewart. Peters GO, Meidroth flyout, Murakami liner off the end of the bat to left for a single (on a 96mph fastball from a LHP). Vargas worked a full count, but Mune got picked off pushing his luck to get a good lead before the payoff pitch.
  4. Sal Stewart ambushed the first pitch of the second for a HR to put the Reds up 1-0. Walk, popout, lineout, flyout to finish Martin's day. Velo was up a little from last season's averages. Colson 8 pitch groundout, Acuna hustles out an IF single, Beni stays hot with another hard hit that Acuna speeds to third on. Kelenic K, Lee groundout strands runners at the corners. Hicks in to pitch the 3rd.
  5. Easy 1-2-3 for Martin, 3 routine groundouts on 9 pitches. Sox also go down in order (Meidroth K on a Reds ABS challenge, Mune and Vargas K swinging) but saw 20 pitches at least.
  6. Fegan with a Hagen update in the SoxMachine comments: The velo is particularly encouraging, he was topping out at 97 in AFL (where he had a 13.5 K/9) so it's a good sign that he's already back there first week of spring.
  7. This is dumb, what's the point of spending a Skubal start on a weaker team in pool play? Might as well use the roster spot on someone else.
  8. He'll be fine, but I can't imagine the reactions here if this was a Sox lol
  9. You'll get word of guys "looking nice on the backfields" and maybe see a clip from live BP on occasion but there's no stats or anything from the minors side of camp.
  10. Lots of "first outing of spring" type performances from the arms, nice for the bats to be able to hit around it. 12 runs on 16 hits and 6 walks against 5ks (only 1 from the starters)
  11. Outfield with a combined 4 hits (2 XBH), 2 walks, and 5 runs scored in 5 innings is nice.
  12. 5 pitch mix from Kay, FB a bit harder than I expected. Got a lot of whiffs when he was in/near the zone, hopefully he continues to dial in the command. Love seeing Brooks and EQ continue their strong springs
  13. Rooting for him. Would be kind of funny if the Mets opening day OF is 2/3 of the Sox OF from a 100 loss season though.
  14. Pretty legit lineup out there for SEA, not an easy welcome back for Kay
  15. This was fun. Especially liked Antonacci wondering if he might get in trouble for the bat flip followed by Venable just saying "that was amazing" lol
  16. Early rest for Beni after a part of hard hit doubles in his first two ABs
  17. A couple NRI's get talked up every spring, and people read way too much into it every time. Last year the narrative was that the Sox hated Sosa/Meidroth/other in house IFs and were going to do everything possible to force Brandon Drury on the roster because they talked about his potential and experience and whatever. And then Drury had an excellent spring (1.260 OPS) and still took exactly 0 ABs for your 2025 White Sox.
