  1. CLE's remaining schedule: A 13-13 finish would get our Sox to 85 wins. Guards would have to go 16-9 to match it. It's certainly possible, but I think it's a tough ask. Hopefully the Sox make it even tougher with some extra wins over the next two weeks.
  2. Yeah, this thread almost certainly has more posts than Pham will have ABs (and if not, I guess he's doing something useful)
  3. Wonder if SD would go for LRJ to reinforce their OF depth?
  4. Thorpe no longer listed as tonight's starter for Charlotte, so maybe you still see him this trip @hi8is
  5. Hicks had a clean inning if Colson turns the DP. Gilbert is only up as a fill in for Schweitzer going on the paternity list (congrats to him), probably doesn't even see the end of this road trip.
  6. Also had a double earlier.
  7. Only the second HR allowed by Miller this season, both in the last week SD doesn't score the free runner top 10
  8. "Feast or famine" would imply that they score below that as often as they score above it, which isn't true. They put up an above average number of runs at a top 3 rate. They score a below average number of runs at a below average rate. They are an above average offense by every metric of production. They have scored the most runs in the AL. Folks are just annoyed when they don't score (as every fanbase is) so they imagine it happens more often than it does. Same as every fanbase thinking their team never hits rookie pitchers or always gets burned by the 9 hitter.
  9. CLE is also 8-13 in their last 21 home games even after winning today Very winnable series for a Jays team coming in hot with a chance to take WC3
  10. Martin is back for Houston so Thorpe was always waiting for September.
  11. 9-1 and Lugo is out after JRam's first HR since June 6th. I expected CLE to win this one with Messick going. appreciate KC for winning the series at least. Jays will have a lot of incentive to do the same and Cease/Soriano should give them a good chance.
  12. Early 3-1 lead for Cleveland with a very favorable pitching matchup (Messick vs. Lugo) KC is putting a lot of pitches on Messick at least, he's at 53 after 2.
  13. They've won the most after 3 (or more) 100+ loss seasons, but absolutely not after 1. Even within the last few years, Baltimore won 91 in 2024 after losing 101 in 2023.
  14. IIRC they could also be the first team to lose 100+ and then win a division the following season?
  15. Rengifo went down on a scary non-contact injury, got carted off the field. His absence would be a big loss for SD with AZ right there for the wildcard spot
  16. At risk of their first 100 loss season in franchise history They managed to dodge it in 2024 with 99
  17. Stoppable force of CLE bats vs. the movable object of the KC bullpen
  18. Royals take a 3-2 lead and load the bases with no outs
  19. KC tied it up and still threatening, still time for them to stay hot and win a series.
  20. Your first place Chicago White Sox came into Minnesota clearly understanding the assignment, and win a well pitched game 2 to secure the series. 72-63 sets a new high water mark of 9 games over .500. Their current W4 is the longest active streak in the AL. They lead the season series 6-3, and need just 1 more win in the remaining 4 games to clinch the tiebreaker. Huddy recorded a save on back to back days, first Sox to do so this season. Sox are 7-3 in the last 10 games where Fedde has pitched 3+ innings. Miggy has a 15 game on base streak. Newcomb has a 13.2 inning scoreless streak. Both are the 3rd longest active. Benintendi recorded all 3 of the Sox hits today, including a go ahead HR. He's 5-8 with 4 RBI in the series so far.
  21. Beni is a triple shy, just saying
