  1. Newcomb is so heckin' good lol Wonder what he would cost to keep
  2. McGonigle walks off LA for a Tigers win First pitch in a few minutes for Cleveland
  3. Way to pitch out of it, but I'm not sure Newcomb can give them another inning after throwing 20+ there
  4. The team doesn't need a singular "savior" anymore, which is the main reason this season has been what it has so far. I'll happily take "a guy" with 30+ HR power, solid defense on the left side of the IF, and room to grow.
  5. You should hope it is, considering they've won 8 Sundays straight.
  6. Solid work from Fedde. Shame all those ground balls were too slow to turn two on earlier.
  7. FYI Twins are currently playing short with a hurt Buxton and a third catcher they never play taking up 2 of their bench spots. Knowing MIN has limited PH/sub options might help explain some of Will's decisions with the pen and his own PHs
  8. Kay seems like a great guy. He has a niece diagnosed with pediatric cancer so it's a cause that hits close to home for him.
  9. For tiebreaker watch... The big ones: MIN: Sox lead 5-3 with 5 to play (2 road, 3 home) CLE: Sox lead 6-4 with 3 to play (all @ CLE) DET: Sox lead 6-3 with 4 to play (all at home) For seeding: HOU: Sox trail 1-2 with 4 to play @ HOU TEX: Sox clinched 4-2 Technically possible? KC: Sox clinched 7-3 with 3 to play @ KC SEA: Sox split 3-3
  10. Your first place Chicago White Sox packed their hot bats for the road trip and picked up a 7-4 win over the T_ins. They (finally) set a new high water mark of 8 games over .500. CLE (and DET) also lost, so the division lead extends to 3.5 games. Really savvy deployment of the pen to only use 3 arms to cover 5 innings. Castillo didn't pitch well, but he outpitched Kremer and that ended up being enough. With Kremer maybe being the best arm going for MIN this series, you take a win where the Sox never trailed even if it wasn't pretty getting there. Mune's defense was very key to this one with a pair of crucial double plays to match his pair of hits. 71 wins sets a new MLB record for a season following 3+ years of 100+ losses.
  11. No HRs, but Mune grabbing a couple hits today is a good sign
  12. One wonders if Taylor only throwing 2 pitches in the last series might have played into the calculus tonight
  13. My first instinct was no, his stuff ramping up to pop 101 a couple times there made me reconsider...but I still lean no I think. Keep him available for another game in the series, they have other guys who should be able to handle a clean inning.
  14. Early season injury kept him from getting stretched out. I expect him to start in the future.
