New MiLB/prospect focused podcast series from CHSN. Debut episode is a chat with Janish about some broader org development stuff. What they focus on at different levels, balancing maximizing player strengths vs. minimizing weaknesses, being aggressive with these "reset" assignments, etc. Says the AZ trips are never meant to be long, mainly just to take advantage of some of the tools they've built out at the facility there, then maybe get guys in a few games before sending them back with momentum. It's something they will continue to do. Another thing he mentioned was Braden feeling more comfortable batting LH than RH. He wants to improve at it because he's determined to be a switch hitter, so the staff has worked in more RH work into his prep even though of course he mostly faces RHP in game. It's apparently a tricky balance because Braden (and Wolkow, he says) are already guys getting in extra work when they can just because of their makeup. He shouts out Bonemer and Mogollon as two players who should get some more shine.

McCants is back in the lineup for Kanny, gets a single in his first AB.

Painter topping out at 100mph early. Baldwin is unimpressed, takes pitch #7 of his leadoff AB out to RF. Colson almost followed with an oppo shot but it hooked foul. Worked a walk.

Sure, okay, whatever. -
He threw 104 pitches on Friday.

Hope it's nothing serious, he's having a big year.

Galanie go ahead slam with 2 outs in the 9th
-
Burke was on third as the go ahead run with 1 out top 9. He broke for home after a wild pitch, but it bounced off the backstop directly back to the catcher and his creative attempt to evade the tag came up short.

At least Tauchman came to play today

Vaughn 3-5 tonight. The hits: 104 mph line drive single to LF 86mph groundball double down the LF line 105 mph line drive RBI double to RF Elko 1-4, soft ground ball single. Teel 1-4 with 2K. Knights rallied to tie it in the 8th, Coffey allowed a walk off solo HR in the 9th after striking out the first two batters. Knights lose 5-4. Pallette pitched two clean innings, Wikelman ran into trouble in his second inning and got tagged for 3ER. No Colson or Baldwin today.

Maybe he's intimidated by having too many actual outfielders on the roster now. Throw some first basemen and utility guys in the corners for a few games and see if it gets him going. -
Tolerable 12-15 record at home but just allergic to any kind of positive momentum on the road. Also, if Luis wants to swing like an all glove no bat CF, he can bat bottom third like one. At least his at bats were watchable when he was walking a bunch early this season. Now he gets runners on in front of him at rates we would have killed for in 2023, and out of the 6 outfielders on the roster he's somehow become the one I'm least convinced could run into a hit with RISP.
