  1. Could be, but it's also so far out that a million things could change between now and then. For all we know, there's an international draft by 2030.
  2. Not first specifically, I just expect him in the IF mix overall. Barring any moves I'm expecting tonight's arrangement of Vargas/Colson/Meidroth/Sosa left to right with Mead as backup going into next year. But Bonemer could push Mead out and Meidroth to the bench for example.
  3. If Sosa gets comfy at 1B this might be the infield for a while. At least until Bones is ready?
  4. 29 of MAT's 54 hits are for extra bases
  5. Francys reporting it too FWIW
  6. I mean he's a real guy but that would be really far out to have a deal
  7. Yep, just a normal routine loss. Kinda fun how un-routine it feels to not come back and win again honestly. Get after it tomorrow with hopefully a more competent ump behind the plate.
  8. Ump stopped halfway through calling that pitch, wth
  9. Houser? Mead? No, it's the Tristan Gray revenge game.
  10. FWIW a common theme of Houser's Rays starts that I've seen has been them leaving him in an inning too long. Would be nice if that's the case here tonight.
  11. Yeah, still like the guy but I changed my mind. Score some runs.
  12. Mets are now the last remaining team to not have a 9th inning comeback this season. They are 0-60 in games where they trail after 8. Sox were 0-72 for the season (and 0-205 since 2023) until breaking the streak in Minnesota.
  13. Presumably Quero and Teel have some familiarity with Houser's stuff from having caught him. Kinda don't want to light him up too bad though, I liked him as a Sox.
  14. At least they won this one (and it would have been combined, which is a bit less notable anyway). 7 innings from Glasnow, 1 from Treinen, and then Tanner Scott gave up a double to leadoff the ninth.
  15. He's already said he's preparing as a starter over the offseason.
  16. FWIW, when Sosa was playing winter ball last offseason, he wasn't at 2B at all. He played mostly short and a few games at third. If they think extra reps could help, then maybe he could head back there and play more second (or first?). But I'm not sure how exactly these teams balance the interests of their MLB players' orgs vs. existing league vets at the position. The winter leagues skew older and I get the impression that longevity carries a lot of weight, but maybe being elite offensively (he had like a 1.200 OPS) will give him more sway? Speaking of longevity, it's easy to forget that Sosa is the longest tenured Sox:
