We can talk about Jacob Amaya, Miguel Vargas, and Travis Jankowski instead.
-
Getz has been nowhere near as successful as Hahn. Hahn also didn’t set the futility record.
-
Kenny and Hahn were both better GMs than Getz. Getz is shooting for his second straight record setting season… in losses. And what players did Getz develop again when he was the Director of Player Development for the Sox? And what did he do as the Assistant GM before his underserved promotion?
-
The guy went from making the opening day roster to not being able to hit at all in AAA. Sox position player development FTW!
-
I’m not so sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kenny and Hahn were given the early heads up by Jerry that they were going to have to be the fall guys for the failed Rebuild #1 and they both received nice severance packages to keep their mouths shut about it into retirement. I would be surprised if Jerry gave them no warning whatsoever after years of loyal service, but I could be wrong.

The Sox are already 2-8 and Jankowski and Taylor were starting games last week. I think most reasonable Sox fans with a clue already realize this team is going to suck either way and would welcome watching young players playing instead of mid-30’s vets wasting at bats.
-
Yeah, it says he chose free agency. He probably knows he has no shot again with the Sox with Tauchman back and the Drury re-signing.
-
And unsurprisingly, not one other team wanted him. Good enough to start for the White Sox one week, without a job the very next week. “White Sox sent OF Travis Jankowski outright to Triple-A Charlotte. Jankowski has elected free agency to search for a new opportunity after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 33-year-old outfielder was jettisoned from Chicago’s 40-man roster last weekend when Mike Tauchman returned from the injured list.”
-
I didn’t believe it until I looked it up. Only 19 hits since he was acquired. That is insane.
-
Why aren’t you responding to all the other negative posts in this thread about Getz? Stop obsessing over my posts and get a hobby, and I suggest something other than White Sox baseball. Cuz they really suck and you don’t seem to be handling it very well. 🤣
-
“Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like uh, your opinion, man.”
-
I doubt Wikelman Gonzalez will pan out to be anything other than a bad reliever, but if they manage to get one or two good starting position players among Teel, Montgomery, and Meidroth that would be great. Three would be amazing albeit unlikely. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the Red Sox end up winning the trade, just like they did with Sale. The sad fact is that as long as JR is the owner, this will be what happens to any potential aces that the Sox manage to draft and develop.

Fegan uses Bluesky instead of X/Twitter. https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:k2avittndhk5scsbnbiyw5fz

Yet some posters on this site are trying to deny this very fact.
-
No biggie. Getz brought back Drury to save the offense.
-
But living to 100 or beyond is no longer crazy, especially for a billionaire. Imagine 10+ more years of this s%*#.
-
Is that Jerry giving a thumbs up to Getz in his office? Did Getz make another trade for cash considerations right after the game?
-
At least a lineup of nine David Eckstein’s like Jerry wanted would’ve been an improvement.

Former Sox reliever Octavio Dotel has died

Too soon, dude. Too soon. -
Not enough neck tattoos and nose candy.

Can it really go any lower? We are already in the bottom five teams in lowest payroll… https://sports.yahoo.com/article/mlb-payrolls-2025-full-list-113230629.html Pittsburgh Pirates, $87,645,246 Chicago White Sox, $82,279,825 Tampa Bay Rays, $79,216,312 Athletics, $73,118,981 Miami Marlins, $67,412,619

At least this team is better than last year’s. Last year’s team was 1-9 after 10 games. This team is 2-8 after 10 games! On pace for 32 wins.
-
Good, you’re wising up to how bad this team and organization is rather than whining about someone else’s comments. Congrats.
