  1. As expected, Barstool Sports is loving this… https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3541289/dan-bernstein-is-officially-out-after-threatening-a-mans-children-over-a-fish-picture
  2. Bernstein also called him a “MAGA worm”. 🤣 This didn’t help Bernstein’s chances…
  3. Not at all surprised that Bernstein threatened to fight and dox someone but threatening the guy’s kids, when Bernstein has a kid of his own was a bit strange.
  4. Bernstein’s mouth finally cost him his job on WSCR 670 The Score… https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports-media/2025/03/21/dan-bernstein-is-out-at-the-score-after-social-media-flare-up
  5. He was born in Naperville and went to Naperville Central. Not sure why that doesn’t fit?
  6. You know you miss Naperville Nicky!!!
  7. I’m not one of the true Thorpe haters on this board, but probably not a great time to be referencing him for anything with his current status.
  8. But giving a ton of plate appearances to proven failures like Gavin Sheets and Nicky Lopez made sense? Cuz that’s what Getz did instead. How did they prove themselves to be starters?
  9. Fletcher, DeLoach, Zavala… I stopped caring about what bust outfielders that Getz picks and thinks should work with his Director of Hitting. Getz can even take some credit for Colas as he was the assistant GM when Colas was signed. I doubt Fuller can turn s%*# into whipped cream. Hopefully B. Montgomery is that guy, but Getz has already had plenty of whiffs at trying to find an outfielder that is above league average.
  10. Dude, I’m divorced for a reason. I don’t sit around wishing my wife or ex-wife looks like Kathy Ireland or that she gave me head more.
  11. So he should make bad signings intentionally?
  12. 29 other teams probably weren’t interested in Tauchman or Slater after Getz overpaid them. The Cubs non-tendered Tauchman even though they needed a fourth outfielder. Are we going to continue to play this gave that Tauchman and Slater aren’t trash veteran players that a rebuilding team should have no business signing?
  13. Agreed here. Meidroth would be Pedroia v2.0.
  14. Yep, luck is a wonderful thing. Would just be like deciding to trade Robert after 2023.
  15. Exactly. Either play him or cut him. If Colas never had a shot to begin with, there were DFAs that would have been more useful to try out.
  16. I wish Gertz was our GM. Much more enjoyable to watch, even if she fucked up half as much as Getz…
  17. I didn’t say that but 29% of all TJ surgeries so far is rather high, no? We definitely need a larger sample size but it’s not looking good so far.
  18. I didn’t pine for anyone, but nice of you to put words in my mouth. My point was that this is just further proof that Getz jumps on mediocre veteran players and overpays them, rather than letting the market work itself out and grabbing guys on the cheap… which is exactly what a garbage team should be doing. Captain Panic indeed. Remember when our stupid GM said that Austin Slater was his main priority of the offseason? 🤣 What a fucking loser.
  19. Now look at their career lines and WAR. Also, Verdugo is 28. Tauchman is 34. Who is more likely to be as good as usual or even improve?
  20. Greatest post ever. I wish I could have worded it as well as you as many times I have tried to say it. We are 100% aligned on this argument. And even if Fletcher and Colas aren’t “it”, there will likely be better DFA options from other teams that are worth trying over worthless one year vets.
  21. Nice copout answer — “it doesn’t matter.” Whatever. 🤣
  22. Didn’t multiple posters just argue that all teams have this same TJ rate annually with their pitchers? Sox are at 29% for this year, if these numbers are accurate. That seems high out of 30 teams.
  23. We need to hope that every top prospect hits. Colson is already questionable. How are they building a lineup if a few of these guys fail?
