The Mets have up to 5 days since DFA’ing Canario to trade him. He was DFA’ed on Thursday so they can take up to 2 more days to seek a trade. The Mets don’t have to use the entire 5 days if they can’t find an interested trade partner and can dump him to waivers immediately. In any case, after a maximum of 5 days or sooner, he goes on waivers for 48 hours. The White Sox have #1 waiver claim priority. If news comes out that Canario was outrighted to the Mets minors, that means no team put in a waiver claim for him.
