The Mets don’t have to use the entire 5 days if they can’t find an interested trade partner and can dump him to waivers immediately. In any case, after a maximum of 5 days or sooner, he goes on waivers for 48 hours. The White Sox have #1 waiver claim priority. If news comes out that Canario was outrighted to the Mets minors, that means no team put in a waiver claim for him.

You are wrong. Look at their stats again. Also, take a look at which player performed better in a very tiny sample size and which player was worse in 301 plate appearances. Also take a look at which player is 2 years younger. Google isn’t that difficult. Obviously, they could both be bad. But I’ll give a chance to the 24-year old outfielder with plus power when our current outfielders are Benintendi, Taylor, Tauchman, Slater, and Jankowski — basically a pile of my son’s old crusty socks.

That isn’t the point. Prove to me that mid 30’s veteran outfielders like Tauchman, Taylor, Slater, and Jankowski are worth starting on a losing team. Will you be excited when they lead the Sox to a 60 win season as opposed to a 55 win season? If you fail as much as Hahn and Getz have at finding a good corner outfielder, do you just stop trying?

Who cares if he plays games? He sucks while he’s playing. He owns a career .722 OPS and 1.3 bWAR in his fifth season. He’s garbage. A backup SS starting at 1B could do about as well as him.

The entire offense lost the game. 2 hits. Shouldn’t have to pray that a crappy backup catcher comes through. There will be a lot more games like this and Teel isn’t saving them all.
