  1. I expect a big year from Getz’s #1 offseason target!
  2. I don’t think so just because it’s tough to be that horrible two years in a row, not that I think the overall talent of the roster will be much better this year, if at all.
  3. Not that this is news, but I’m guessing the Yankees aren’t truly in on Crochet…
  4. What Getz just said in Merkin’s tweet above makes me think he is moving him either way.
  5. I didn’t believe it at first. But with Harold always bringing up Lux and the Dodgers manager announcing Betts’ move to SS… Muncy can play both 3B and 2B. Edman can also play 2B. They just signed Michael Conforto who can play LF with Andy Pages in RF. Leaves a perfect opening in CF for Robert and they won’t exactly need Outman.
  6. So who is excited for Robert for Lux and Outman?
  7. Yes, please. From your fingers to Getz’s ears.
  8. I did think Madrigal would be better than he was after his first two seasons with the Sox, but you could see the issues with his game immediately. He was definitely not a very fast baserunner so it made you wonder how he was ever going to consistently beat out all those bunts, groundballs, and choppers for hits, since that was a large part of his offensive game — not striking out and making weak contact.
  9. Ironically, Madrigal finished with a .221 AVG and 0 homeruns for the Cubs last year. But he is a .274 career hitter at least.

  12. Offers would seem to be close though, no?
  13. He was proposed as the secondary piece after Miller.
  14. It doesn’t mean everything but I’ll take it over not having it. Fernando Tatis and Jr.
  15. Yep. Another reason to have faith in him as a prospect. Good genes.
  16. Haha, I love how AJP led off with basically saying Nightengale is Jerry’s loyal mouthpiece.
  17. Unless the Red Sox are confident they are dealing Abreu in a package for Crochet, what am I missing with the Red Sox adding yet another outfielder in Teoscar with their current group of outfielders and Anthony in the minors?
  18. I thought the same thing haha.
  19. Yep, I like the idea of younger guys over prospects nearing 23/24 but with a guy this young, performing well at a low level could be a bit fluky rather than having a couple seasons of performance to look at. And then, he would have to further develop in the Sox farm system. Yikes. Would be a ballsy move by Getz to go that young on prospects IMO.
  20. Sure, more spending either way though.
  21. Do you think it is a a bit scary to go all in on a guy that young?
  22. We had one of those. Unfortunately, Rick Hahn in all his wisdom traded him for the already decaying corpse of James Shields in a futile attempt to make the playoffs. We also could have signed a star player in Harper. The Sox could have afforded him and his contract looks like a bargain now. But Jerry got stage fright.
  23. Unfortunately, Robert is no Soto and has never been on that tier of players.
