Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
You are right, and it sucks, but this is the way any GM would have to run a team when the owner doesn’t want to give any one player a large contract.

Just one team would offer two top 100 prospects? I find that hard to believe. If you said two top 50 prospects, I could get onboard with that.

Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule
Great post… Embarrassing. Manfraud recycled an idea from some radio tool that he initially said was a waste of time.

Sox sign INF Nick Maton
“Your Chicago White Sox… serving you up a big s%*# sandwich and telling you it’s great for years!”

2024-25 Offseason Plan Thread
Haha, I know you already said as much but trading Burger for Eder and then Eder for Rice is so very White Sox.

Exactly, and I will never understand this concept other than the belief that facing a bunch of lefties in a row gets an opponent “used to” facing lefties so they hit better against them. Regardless of the handedness of the rest of your rotation, would you rather have Crochet as a member of your rotation or what would more than likely be a less talented right-hander?

Mayo had 46 plate appearances last year. Vargas had 237 plate appearances last year with the Dodgers and the Sox, and 591 in his career to show he’s bad.

Sox sign INF Nick Maton
White Sox signed INF Nick Maton to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Getzy is on a roll.

Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule
Who would the Sox go-to “Golden at bat” hitter even be once Luis Robert is traded? Imagine Andrew Vaughn getting even more at bats in key situations?

Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule
This is so lame and gimmicky. Let’s not turn baseball into a cross between American Gladiators and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Why not? Eder is a just a throw-in. He’s terrible with a career minor league ERA over 5. Meanwhile, the Sox would be getting back a top MLB CF prospect for Robert. The only ones not accepting that deal are the Yankees.

Coaching Staff
Good question. The Sox have just as much of a problem “cleaning house” as the Bears do and it usually screws over both teams.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
This was the proposed trade and I would’ve accepted it yesterday…

Peace before the chaos, Tranquility before the turmoil, Stillness before the tempest.
We already know it will mostly be a losing fate. Getz won’t be signing anyone of note.

Huge signing by Getz to kickoff the pre-meeting dealings...
I’m hoping this response and the thread title are sarcasm.

Andrew Benintendi on the trade market (duh)
They will be running $50 million payrolls until Jerry meets his maker.

Dodgers defenestrating Sox, Snell signs 5 years, $182 million
Yes, it is. But it just goes to show that what we as Sox fans think is a horrible bloated contract is absolute jack sh1t to a real contending team like the Dodgers. A bad deal to the Dodgers means nothing. Jerry is a bum and needs to go the way of the dinosaurs.

Dodgers defenestrating Sox, Snell signs 5 years, $182 million
The Dodgers also just extended Tommy Edman to the same money the Sox gave Benintendi. Sh1t money to the Dodgers. Highest contract ever to the Sox. LOL.

would austin hays play here?
Don’t get your hopes up. Rather than wait to see potential DFA targets, Getz jumped the gun on a worse Austin already because he was his “number one target”. The better Austin will be signing with a better team that has a wiser GM.

2024 Catch-All Thread
Hah, Chicagoans take it for granted. They are all around here and throughout Illinois.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Bohm’s value might be high enough after his past two seasons of production and with two seasons remaining, that it might not be worth the risk of seeing if he performs even better with the Sox and just flip him immediately. The idea of another NL player coming to the Sox and forgetting how to hit frightens me. But I agree with your second paragraph and that if the Phillies had any notion of Bohm being a headliner or second piece to a Crochet offer, they are nuts.

24-25 NFL Thread
I love how Eberflus just said he’d be coaching the next game against the 49’ers. 🤣 Like I said after the game, no coach should survive with his job after running out of time in a game with a timeout left. Poles should absolutely be on the hot seat now for not even entertaining the idea of Harbaugh.
