  1. I doubt Tony thinks that was a good trade either. Getz choked on that one.
  2. NBC Sports is now clowning the Getz and the Sox on this trade… “Jake McCarthy went 3-for-5 and knocked in two runs, including the game-winner in the bottom of the ninth, to propel the Diamondbacks to a 4-3 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. This is getting a little ridiculous now. McCarthy, who spent most of last year looking like one of the league’s easiest outs, is hitting .311/.380/.438 in 325 plate appearances. The White Sox reportedly could have acquired McCarthy in the Cristian Mena deal last winter and chose Dominic Fletcher instead. Fletcher, in case you were wondering, is currently hitting .216/.283/.268 in the majors.”
  3. I always remembered Christine O’Reilly as the White Sox charities director that Hawk would interview and ogle over during broadcasts back in the day. Is she somehow related to Score goon Shane Riordan?
  4. The Sox got back cash considerations for Cousins. But to Jerry, that’s probably winning the trade regardless of what Cousins does going forward. ?
  5. Burger still had value last trade deadline due to his HR power. Yet, we got a pitcher for him who can’t even maintain an ERA under 5 in the minors.
  6. The bigger question is why do the Sox let front office guys they are about to fire dictate their trade deadline moves? Kenny traded Burger for Eder last trade deadline and then Kenny was fired three weeks later. Mike Tosar recommended Miguel Vargas and then Tosar was fired a week after the trade deadline. Sure seems a bit strange to me.
  7. They just signed him 2.5 years ago. Is Paddy pulling a Dave Wilder or what?
  8. I think the posters that say trading Burger wasn’t the huge mistake due to his age, lack of a position, and the Sox new timeline to be good again have a good argument, but trading him with Eder being the return looks to be a huge whiff now. Unless Eder turns into something, which doesn’t look likely right now with how awful he has been in the minors, this trade was a bust. It sure looks like the Marlins robbed the Sox so far. I’m not sure how this can even be debated.
  9. “Look, we’re not going to be in the Soto race, I’ll tell you that right now. I’ll tell you that.”
  10. Burger isn’t a free agent until 2029. The Marlins have four more years of control on him after this season.
  11. No, and not even because he can’t stay healthy. Eloy is at -0.3 WAR. I would be surprised if the Orioles pick up his $16.5 million dollar option. He will likely be a free agent. Meanwhile, Burger is earning $760K with 4 more years of control.
  12. Ozzie saying to just flush the season in honor of Grifol.
  13. White Sox officially eliminated from the division. ?
  14. Sizemore must’ve been hoping for a chopper-2-hopper that found a hole on the right side, cuz he either does that or pops out.
  15. And this ball game is… ova.
  16. Baldwin swinging out of his shoes.
  17. Haha, Nicky Lopez with a shallow pop fly. Just release this turd already. No team even wanted him as a backup infielder at the trade deadline because he’s so bad.
  18. Beat me to it, lol.
  19. Going for star caliber guys was never an option with JR (see Harper and Machado) so I don’t think it can be ruled out as not being the correct strategy. We have simply never seen it done. Signing the over-the-hill gang has been the Sox strategy for years, and next offseason will be no different.
  20. Shuster walks Soto with a garbage high and inside pitch. No HR #4.
  21. “Let’s go, Soto!” chants at the park.
  22. The Guardians currently have the best record in baseball. They started the season with a payroll $50 million less than the White Sox payroll.
  23. Thanks! 101.52 average exit velocity. I was close. ?
  24. I hope he hits a fourth and embarrasses these mofos.
