  1. He’s the marketing guy that Getz himself said had to help him convince Jerry to spend a $6.5 million posting fee and $38 million on Murakami.
  2. Just keep it at one. Angels bullpen will blow it sooner or later.
  3. He and Acuna are taking turns with it.
  4. The Sox have done this very same BS with players in the recent past. Why give them the benefit of the doubt?
  5. Yeah, but could you put up a .444 OPS?
  6. As long as they keep it close. The Angels bullpen makes the Sox bullpen look good.
  7. Playing a dude who is still injured. The White Sox way.
  8. If you went to the Sox with a sore back they would tell you to get a chiropractor to adjust it. Their second diagnosis would be a fractured spine.
  9. Good home-grown players nearing free agency is an excuse to always stay in rebuild mode. Rebuild mode is a good excuse to never sign top free agents, including to a contract above $75 million dollars. Both strategies works hand-in-hand and you would have to be wearing blinders not to see it. Jerry doesn’t deserve our faith or lack of cynicism.
  10. One of these things is not like the others. But yeah, rebuilds, always rebuilds! No other reason at all… Largest White Sox contract ever = 5 / $75 million Rodon = 6 / $162 million Sale = 5 / $145 million Cease = 7 / $210 million Crochet = 6 / $170 million
  11. One could always use the continuous rebuild excuse for a team owned by Jerry, because when players near free agency and their price tag is going to be outside of Jerry’s comfort zone, the directive is to trade them for prospects.
  12. Did you know that Perez was signed by Atlanta to a minor league deal in the offseason. Then he was DFA’ed, went unclaimed, elected free agency, and Atlanta signed him to another minor league deal.
  13. If you want to watch a great documentary on free solo rock climbing, The Dark Wizard on HBO is nuts. It’s a four-part series for four total hours. The last hour will air next week.
  14. I remember some posters wanting to trade for him last year.
  15. Mune has perfectly clean cuts when he goes about his business.
  16. May as well get him a little rest at DH, even though we will be forced to watch Acuna swing his wet newspaper.
  17. It doesn’t look like Acuna can hit at all, which I think the Mets realized. Getz also saved $20 million from the trade but if you could look at some of the players he signed this past offseason, it still doesn’t look great. Kay, Hays, and McGuire cost around $20 million combined. Kay is terrible, McGuire was already cut, and while Hays is good and I wanted him last season, he gets injured as much as Robert.
  18. How dare the Cubs steal our crap from us. Let’s pay them back by claiming crappy Ben Cowles again!
  19. I don’t think that really matters much for Kay anymore. In his 5 seasons in the MLB before he went to Japan, he earned just over $2 million total. I’m not sure what he earned in his 2 seasons in Japan but Getz gave him $12 million guaranteed over the next 2 seasons. Kay will be nearing 33 years old when he is a free agent again. Getz pretty much set him up for life with this contract. Even if he never pitches for another team after the White Sox, around $15 million in total career earnings for a bad pitcher is pretty amazing.
  20. Seems strange. Must be in the head. That pitch to end the 8th was unhittable.
  21. Battle of the bad bullpens. Angels is just a little worse.
  22. Angels bullpen is even worse than the Sox. Was wondering why they brought in Sandlin and his 10 ERA against a lefty. Guess they just DFA’ed their closer as well.
