  1. I have to question the credibility of the first link when they say this. Contract extension in 2020?
  2. They seem to be good at drafting and/or developing pitchers and horrendous at drafting and/or developing position players.
  3. This is true. Unfortunately, five years ago is a lifetime in baseball.
  4. Source? It’s hard to believe this could possibly be true, between cheap Jerry and Grifol being a new manager with no previous managerial experience. I think I had seen somewhere that the number was more like around a million per year for each of the 3 years of his contract.
  5. Fedde for Josue De Paula in a one-for-one swap.
  6. 89 strikeouts in 177 at bats at Single A.
  7. DOH, I was lazy and just read the title.
  8. That would be my guess. Definitely seems like an underwhelming pick upon first glance.
  9. Okay then, the “Sox front office’s obsession with undersized outfielders.” 5’10, 185, average speed, and he can’t play CF adequately apparently.
  10. What is Getz’s obsession with undersized corner outfielders? ”He’s got a strong arm that would suit him in right field, but he doesn’t have the typical right field build—he’s listed at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds—or raw power so he’s a bit of a tweener outfield prospect with average speed that probably won’t allow him to play center.”
  11. And if he quits, he doesn’t get paid. If he gets fired at the end of the season, he will earn another million or so for the 2025 season.
  12. His 40%+ strikeout rate is more of a reason to pump the breaks than any current prospect rating in any publication.
  13. And then that type pans out, turns into an ace, and Jerry is too cheap to pay them so they are traded. Schultz is next… ?
  14. Why does Getz gets credit for Crochet again?
  15. You seemed to be blaming keeping Grifol on “bad PR around the league”. That isn’t why he was kept.
  16. Hah, it’s cute that you actually think keeping or firing Grifol was ever Getz’s choice to make. JR kept Grifol around because he really doesn’t care and wants to fire Grifol at the end of this season to serve as the fall guy for this absolute dumpster fire of a season and to serve as a cushion for him and Getz from receiving all of the criticism.
  17. Too bad neither player can achieve and maintain a league average OPS of .709. The stats and larger sample sizes say they are both sub-.700 OPS players. Sheets: 2024 OPS: .693 Career OPS: .691 Julks: 2024 OPS: .693 Career OPS: .661
  18. “Moncada might play again. Moncada doesn’t care”
  19. Sheets is terrible. He is DFA worthy after this year. And you are saying that Julks is worthy of being a platoon corner outfielder based on his ability to hit lefties in 43 at bats this year? Go take a look at his numbers against lefties last year with the Astros. He was actually better against righties last year. No, I will never agree with this nonsense.
