Sox and six other teams w/o Top 100 player

You guys got PCA hot again. 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI today. OPS up to .820. -

Great athlete, horrible baseball player. The dream draft pick for Kenny Williams.

He does seem like a total chode with his hair dye and attitude, but yeah. I’d probably dislike his personality but like him for the stats. -
Maybe he can dance better than he can field? I wonder if he can do the Macarena? https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT69g1Koh/

It’s embarrassing and @Look at Ray Ray Run is spot on. It reminds me of that Mad TV skit from ages ago…

Crazy to see how the salaries have changed over the years. Peavy earned $127 million in his entire career. These days, one top starter FA contract is worth more than that. But I guess injuries played a part in that.

If I got tickets to this for $40 bucks a pop, as cool as it is, I’m selling them for 10 times as much if I can and watching it on an ESPN2 stream. 🤣

Further proof why Jerry and his hand-picked regime need to be gone forever. He should realize it himself. There’s a reason Kenny and Hahn aren’t in baseball anymore.
-
Thanks. I think it may have been the Party Animals against the Tailgaters.

So I watched some baseball like this on the old CHSN OTA channel 62.2 which is now Stadium instead, which Jerry owns a part of. But it was two other teams playing, not the Savanah Bananas. Does anyone happen to know what “league” I was watching? It seemed like they were doing similar gimmicks as the Bananas, just not to the same extent.

It’s the kind of reply people resort to when they can’t answer the question.
-
Exactly, but I’m going to guess that Jerry is going to let Ishbia foot the bill for that spending in the future. 🤣

Yoendrys Gomez Up, Vargas Back, Julks DFAed, Elvis down

Yeah, but just think — maybe if Booser eventually pitches well, he can be flipped for a nice young prospect like Fajardo! Oops… -

Agreed. The other guy on their team who should normally be in the top 10 has tanked offensively as well. -

Not to Getz. Dude loves trading for 30+ year old relievers. -

Wilson was DFA’ed once already. Iriarte and Zavala are more than likely career minor leaguers. We are stuck with hoping Thorpe can be a starter in the rotation at some point with his 90 MPH fastball. The Cease trade was an unmitigated disaster and hasn’t done for this team what Getz thought it was going to do. If Getz had to put his hand on a bible and actually had the gall to say otherwise, lightning would probably strike him on the spot. -
Exactly. I was going to post this earlier… why did the Sox even draft him in the first place if they thought his mechanics could potentially lead to an injury? Okay, perhaps they thought they could fix his poor mechanics? But if that is the case, why did they just figure it out now instead of working on it right after he was drafted? Apparently, the Sox wizards of evaluation only pick and choose when to see things. Smells like 🐂 💩 to me.

They won’t, but if Wilson was truly worth anything he would have been traded at the deadline. He wasn’t traded because his walk rate is no gouda, which ultimately defeats the purpose of Getz acquiring him in the Cease trade because the entire point of acquiring him as the last piece was to flip him for additional prospect(s). -

Don’t forget DeLoach and Robertson. Getz is the master of acquiring a bunch of outfielders and then never giving them enough playing time to see if they are legitimate major leaguers because he signed too many worthless vets and refuses to cut them. Why would Robertson not be playing right now? Cut Taylor and Rojas and give Tauchman plenty of rest… -
I think the post(s) he was referencing were nuked, and rightfully so. They veered off course from the thread topic. Thorpe really needs to turn into a legitimate rotation starter, not necessarily an ace, just a #3 or #4. Otherwise, that Cease trade was a complete bust. Iriarte and Zavala ain’t it.

They also aren’t just your average white collar employees. They sign contracts with clauses regarding engaging in activities that most employers don’t enforce with their employees. Activities that could impact their ability to play baseball. And they apply to the offseason as well. https://www.thebestbaseballblog.com/mlb-player-contracts-forbid-just-about-everything.html

The pitching definitely went to 💩.

Of course, just look at Sox positional prospects over the years. 🤣 Of course, Vaughn for example never put up numbers like PCA. None of them really have until Colson so far.
