I think it was only part time gigs for them — pay per appearance. He more than likely has no contractual salary. He thought he was worth more than he was. I’m sure he is regretting his decision to not accept The Score’s offer now. Radio is a dying media when anyone and everyone with some minor fame can start a podcast and make money off of advertising. He wasn’t even really a full-time on air talent. He was a producer for the show. No one knows who the F Shane Riordan is other than Chicagoans so he’s likely SOL. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him eventually accept some job as a radio producer elsewhere and he will be paid the same mediocre salary that he was already receiving from The Score.

Nah, he only clowned AJP showing him the pitch signs when they met at the mound like AJP was a moron.

There is zero power there. Just look at his SLG each month, even when his OBP was good. He’s basically Madrigal with a better glove. Meidroth simply isn’t going to work as a starting 2B. He’s a backup utility infielder on a good team at best. He will never be a consistent .385+ OBP machine with zero threat of hitting even double digit homers a season. The book is out on Meidroth now — he’ll be challenged in the strike zone because he is almost no threat of hitting a bomb. But a utility infielder isn’t the worst result as a third piece of a big trade. Ideally, Sosa’s glove improves and he learns the strike zone and becomes more patient. I have more hope in him being our starting 2B of the future than Meidroth going forward. Meidroth won’t OPS .750+ even in his wettest of dreams in the MLB.

2019 or an untimely occurrence is all we have to hope for, as dark as that is.

All three guys are young players — Sosa, Quero, and Montgomery. It’s not like Hahn acquired them early in his 11 year career as GM. So far, Getz has acquired a dude that has cold streaks longer than his hot streaks in Vargas, a guy in Meidroth that looks like a utility infielder posing as a starting 2B, and a CF in Zavala in the Cease trade that doesn’t look like a major leaguer.
-
Just saw the Vargas baserunning gaffe again. What a boner.
-
To be fair, Hahn is also responsible for the three best hitters in Getz’s lineup. Pretty pathetic.

I understand using some of the sunk cost pitchers to eat some innings but keeping Rojas and Taylor around is a joke. They are on one year deals and they won’t be back next year. At this point, they are just wasting at bats that could be used for assessing other players. Getz has traded for multiple outfielders over the past couple years that could be getting assessed right now. What was the point of acquiring them if you would rather play veteran bums in yet another losing season?

Good to know. I love the Aliens and Predator series of movies.

I read it was the most predictable lame ending ever. I’ll still watch it because I love the horror genre.

The Sox royally suck.
-
Not even fucking close. Only a delusional person would ever make such a comment.

If we had more Bananas, we might have an enjoyable team. 🤣
-
He still has youth and time. He’s only 22. That is much better than what a soon to be 28-year old and now apparently career minor league outfielder is going to do for the Sox.
-
He hits lefties though…
-
There’s no possible scenario that Jerry and Getz don’t look like bigger clowns than they already do if this happens. At this point, they have to pick up his option outside of a devastating injury.

Money double play Robert. 🤦🏼♂️

13 in a row? I hate when the standings only show the last 10 game streak for each team.

I think you nailed it here. This was the entire strategy. Just fill a bunch of roster spots / positions in the cheapest possible manner. Two potential starters in Soroka and Shuster. A starting 2B in Little Nicky. A utility infielder in Shewmake. A pitching prospect in Gowens. More is not always better, especially when the majority of the return is garbage. Getz was like a little kid shopping for cheap Chinese toys at the dollar store. He would have been much better served going the all prospect route in the trade.
-
Sure seeming like it now. His bat is just not good enough with his Madrigal power. It just doesn’t work in the majors.
-
Perhaps the same scouts that told you that Nicky Lopez improved the Sox clubhouse last year. LOL.
-
Huh? How do you know this? Are we just making stuff up to defend Getz now? A better player would have provided more hope for the clubhouse than crappy Little Nicky.
-
Buehrle clowning AJ by explaining the signs to him was pretty funny.
-
Buehrle pitching to Pierzynski for the Savannah Bananas is more entertaining than this. 🤣
-
Mark Buehrle pitching now!
