He will have plenty of time since Teel and Hays appear to be the slowest healers in the history of baseball. 🤣

Am I crazy or does Peters grip his bat like a little kid that isn’t strong enough to swing a wooden bat?

I thought Stone was basically saying that Venable messed up, but without saying it directly. “Venable tried to stretch using Taylor in a later inning and got burned…”

He has been doing it all game, but that was his premier jinx of the night.

Yep, he all but directly said that Venable fucked up, lol.

Venable tried to play it cute, use Schweitzer, and save Taylor for a later inning, and he got burned.

Kelenic had a 3-0 count… …And then he struck out.

Looked like a little kid with apprehensive check swings in a tee ball game.

He might have to take the next series off since those predictions take so much out of him.

I’m more impressed that Kay and Fedde are somehow keeping them in games.

You are right. Didn’t notice. This is that first female ump ever Jen Pawol that had some of the worst calls ever behind the plate.

First base ump needs to get his eyes checked.

Vargas should have crushed that meatball.

I don’t consider those guys to be “elite young pitching” right now. Schultz prior to his callup would fit that description to me. I think the return for Martin would/could be good, but not that good. Maybe @GreenSox’s expectations for “elite young pitching” is different and those guys would fit the bill.

f*** Bobby Witt. I can’t remember if @caulfield12 or @greg775 loved him more.

You’re not getting any of those prospects in @caulfield12’s post for “a reliever or 2”, other than 28-year old Ryan Ward. Perhaps if one of the two relievers is Grant Taylor. I also doubt you are going to get “elite” young pitching for Davis Martin. Would you trade Noah Shultz for Martin?

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
How about “as obvious in 2023 as it was this past offseason”? Robert was coming off of his most productive (4.9 fWAR) and healthy (595 PA) season at age 26. There is logically no way the trade offers weren’t better for Robert after the 2023 season than they were this past offseason, along with the actual trade return of Acuna and Pauley. Yes, the injuries would be a factor but Getz kept him around for two additional seasons which further resulted in the belief that Robert was injury-prone. If your plan was to rebuild immediately upon your GM promotion, why not trade Robert after his great and relatively healthy season? I never claimed that any team would have traded “all of their best prospects” for Robert after the 2023 season, but the offers damn sure would have been better than what he was traded for two years later in Acuna + Pauley.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Please tell me you aren’t trying to argue that the trade offers for Robert after his 2023 season were probably worse than Acuna, a guy that could easily be DFA’ed only 1.5 months into this season? That is simply nonsensical and even you know deep down that it is a BS suggestion. Oh wait, I forgot to include Truman Pauley in the eventual trade return. The guy that is currently 0-5 with a 7.92 ERA and 1.88 WHIP at Single A. That probably puts Getz’s eventual trade return back over the top of any offers from after the 2023 season.
