I still don’t see many signs that Venable is much better than Grifol. He makes garbage lineups and his strategy sucks. He’s only better at press conferences because he’s way more likable than Grifol.

They have two guys locked into next year’s rotation — Smith and Martin, and Martin should probably be one of the next players to be traded. Cannon and Burke will likely be in the rotation as well even though they are still question marks. It’s definitely a mess without much development.

Exactly. I have no clue why WE assumes Ishbia would promote any loser from this current org. He is a baseball fan and has watched this team. He sees what we see. He knows he’s buying the team from an awful owner who has lost more games than he has won, while barely trying. I sincerely doubt Ishbia thinks that 2nd place (stated by Jerry himself) or a continuous rebuild is just as good as winning divisions and Wild Cards. Getz won’t have another job in baseball once Jerry is six feet under, just like Kenny and Hahn.

The Sox have had no problem with options to cut with the amount of veteran busters that Getz has wasted millions on over the past couple seasons.

I think you nailed it, or at least that is how Venable should play it. Teel and Quero alternate between catcher and DH and Lee is a true backup catcher getting one or two starts a week.

Yet there will still be Getzpologists around even after 4 awful seasons with Getz in the front office.

They are going for family fun and other goofy stuff that will interest children that probably think MLB baseball is too long and boring. Per WE’s final paragraph, losses don’t mean anything during a rebuild, yet he continues to talk about an improved, albeit still pathetic winning percentage of .400 since May 1st. So maybe only wins matter during a rebuild, but not the losses? As a result, Getz can never look bad! Amazing logic if your goal is to defend an awful GM.

Your so called “peanut gallery” knew that it was just a hot streak. If it truly was due to a “different level of intensity”, where did that “different level of intensity” disappear to this month? Your favorite GM is currently on pace to not even win 100+ games in two entire seasons of 324 games of baseball. While the offense has improved some from being terrible last season, it’s still ranked one of the lowest in the MLB. Meanwhile, the rotation hasn’t taken a step forward outside of two starters in Smith and Martin. Burke and Cannon are still questions marks. And as usual, the bullpen is vomit-inducing. Considering you have actually used the Sox MiLB team records to prove a point about their overall farm development, it’s quite ironic that the Sox MLB record apparently isn’t as important to you and I am too focused on it. There is no narrative here, only facts. To quote Carlos Zambrano — “We stinks.”
