  2. Benintendi is barely an MLB caliber player. If a team was willing to send one dollar to the Sox as “cash considerations” for Benintendi, they would make that trade in a second. No team would make that deal.
  3. He’s a waste of any amount of money.
  4. So you want to continue to hope that something “clicks” with Fields in his fourth season? He is 10-28 as the Bears starter. He doesn’t have it. You think another receiver is going to make him pan out? What happened to Mooney this year? Fields can’t read defenses or make secondary or third reads or throws. He’s too slow and he either has to roll out of the pocket or gets sacked before he gets the ball off. It’s pretty obvious that he’s basically throwing to the planned/primary open receiver on most passing plays, which are focused on either Moore or Kmet. If Moore wasn’t such a stud YAC receiver, Fields’ passing stats would be worse.
  5. I say no. You are basically trying to luck into the best QB in the draft at #13 overall. Good luck with that. Yes, I know Mahomes, but even he was the 10th overall pick and I wouldn’t put my money on that happening again. Fields is not the guy. Ask yourself this. Would the Texans give up Stroud for any crazy offer you can think up right now, including this one? They wouldn’t.

  7. You can’t pass on a stud QB for the second time, if you think Williams could be as good as or better than Stroud. A huge haul of picks doesn’t even compare to a franchise changing QB like Stroud.
  8. Wrong. You take the franchise changing QB every time. None of those guys individually or combined can compare with a stud franchise QB for 10+ years. Offer that package of players and picks to the Texans for Stroud and see what they say. In today’s NFL, if you don’t have the stud QB, you don’t have anything.
  9. We really don’t have to worry about it anyways. The biggest Sox contract of all time is $75 million to Benintendi. Bellinger is expected to get over twice that. Not happening unless perhaps Jacob Marley’s ghost visits Reinsdorf this offseason.
  10. Yes, I did forget to mention this. Rosenbloom said that Phil was done and wasn’t coming back and Jordan said he would only play for Phil as his coach.
  11. Stroud is amazing. Freaking stud. Fields isn’t worthy enough to carry his jock for him.
  12. It’s not hard to find a “free” stream. ?
  13. Steve Rosenbloom blamed the clueless Bulls as well. Reinsdorf must hire the dumbest PR people for both of his teams. How often has Krause been booed over the years that they should have expected it and known better?
  14. Lock him up to a 10 year deal while he’s still young.
  15. Reinsdorf should have known better. He made Krause the villain to the fans. He should have expected the boos and not set this up.
  16. He’s not made for closing but he’s a good setup man. Good enough that a team much better than our Sox brought him back for their playoff run.
  17. But now you are sweating a 1B/DH that went to the Cubs for much less then Cease? If Busch doesn’t hit for the Cubs in the majors almost immediately, he’s done. He can’t play defense. How does Busch have anything to do with Colson Montgomery playing either SS or 3B? Busch couldn’t play either of those positions. But regardless of this reasoning, Busch is the guy you wanted in return for Cease, when the Sox aren’t going to be ready to compete for anything in the next couple years at the very least?
  18. Yes, we should throw a stupidly massive contract (one which Reinsdorf has never gotten close to) at an up and down bat that still won’t make the Sox a competitor, just to show up Cubs fans. He would be another bloated Moncada contract on a loser of a team. How long did it take you to come up with this amazing idea?
  19. Thank you. This is the Cubs effect. Busch is better now that the Cubs acquired him. ?
  20. I’d only have considered it if Pages was included.
  21. From drinking out of puddles in Cuba to a $2.7 million dollar signing bonus from the Sox. Poor guy.
  22. Busch is 26 years old and likely a 1B/DH who I doubt Getz was ever truly interested in due to his complete and utter lack of a glove. The dude would likely be close to 30 years old by the time the Sox have a competitive team. There’s no way he should be one of the top returns in a Cease trade. The Cubs got him for an unproven 19 year old Jackson Ferris that may not amount to anything, not a legitimate starter in Cease, whether you think he’s an ace or a #3 starter.
  23. I believe this was posted already but would Orioles fans be okay with Paxton or Ryu as your big offseason starter acquisition? One guy is always injured and the other just came back from TJ surgery.
  24. Well, we know that the owner in this case is neutering his GM. Hahn was obviously not the best GM but it was also obvious he wanted to do more than Jerry let him.
  25. Agreed, and this is why I don’t agree with holding onto Cease. To me, the risk outweighs the potential for an improved return.
