  1. I thought that was a great move at the time. The Sox got a 28-year old RF for money only. He was pretty damn good in 2010 and especially in 2012.
  2. Good. Trade both guys. Brewers already won that Civale trade. 🤣
  3. He doesn’t hit enough to DH. Well, not for a good team.
  4. We could take over the moniker “Lovable Losers” from the Cubs.
  5. Perhaps he can talk about the Sox going for it in 2016 and his stellar trade for James Shields?
  6. #1 De Vries (#3 in Top 100) #3 Nett #13 Baez #17 Nunez
  7. If the Sox don’t think he can be a starter, you are damn right. Closers going for insane prices.
  8. I think that is where the Sox would move him to.
  9. vileposter — this one could make the SoxTalk Hall of Shame.
  10. Maybe in the final year. I can’t see Jerry approving eating this much money… 2026: $16.5M 2027: $14.5M
  11. Benintendi was a Hahn signing so Getz is off the hook for that one. I was just laughing that you literally had to post “Keep Benintendi” as if the Sox have any choice in the matter. Once again, no one wants him but you. 🤣
  12. Yeah, you don’t have to worry about Benintendi going anywhere. No one wants him but you.
  13. One good fluky season surrounded by bad with only 4 years left of control. The control is probably even the bigger issue with him, rather than acquiring a player with 6 full years of control for this team.
  14. But we need to add Thor to the rotation to bring the ladies to The Rate.
  15. Did you not read the most recent posts? Your ESPN quote may be inaccurate regarding his average fastball velocity. Other scouting reports are saying his fastball velocity is higher than 90 on average.
  16. I don’t know. Locklear and a couple pitchers wouldn’t be an awful return for Robert. A #9 ranked prospect in a very strong farm system. He has really turned it on this year with the bat. Negatives are that’s he isn’t a lefty bat and he’s already turning 25 in November but the Sox could sure use a 1B with power. Locklear also has one more year of control than Vientos — FA in 2031 rather than 2030. He would more than likely be starting at 1B for the Sox immediately.
  17. If his fastball averages under 90, I can see why the Yankees had no problem dealing him for Slater. But this is from MLB Pipeline. The slider and changeup are a match in both reports but what’s up with the fastball velocity difference? https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/whitesox/gage-ziehl-695721
  18. I didn’t think the Cubs would go after him. Small sample size but Matt Shaw has over a 1.000 OPS post All-Star break. I think they are sticking with him. Maybe they acquire a lesser bat as insurance.
