Robert stays...
I said this in the Robert trade thread right after the deadline. I assume Getz discussed Robert’s option with Jerry and Jerry agreed to pick it up if the trade offers were crap. Otherwise, you would just accept a crappy offer. And yes, if they give Robert his buyout after the season, Getz should be fired.

Cut Rojas and give Mead some run at 1B.

And your idea makes perfect sense. A dude that can’t play defense anywhere very well, but is obviously improving with his bat — Sosa… throw him in LF where D isn’t hugely important. Maybe he can handle it? He’s still only 25 and earning dick…

Hope Benintendi continues going wild and gets his OPS over .800, eat a bunch of his contract for some team that needs a LF/DH, and move Sosa to LF.

No one posted Ozzie’s last performance yet? For shame…

Can’t do the cheap Vodka. For awhile I was doing Tito’s with a little Sprite on ice. Good s%*#.

Yankees acquire Austin Slater for RHP Gage Ziehl
I know it’s not the same, but can you make some good homemade s%*#? Plain brown rice or noodles, grilled chicken or steak or cooked with a little oil on the stove, veggies, with a light sauce without all the crazy salty MSG sauces? It’s like a burrito — s%*# is good either way.

I’m on my 15th Coors Light. I hope you are keeping up, light-weight.

Yep, pure athletic ability.

I realize this is a joke, but Michael wouldn’t have made it in baseball. He was already 31 and he hadn’t played baseball since high school. It was just an elaborate show and an excuse to keep him out of the NBA due to his under the table gambling accusations, which were true. David Stern, Jerry, and Michael all colluded to make it happen. But this was fun…

Robin Ventura reborn, but he now plays SS instead of 3B.

Also, 8 walks and only 9 strikeouts with the Brewers. Still a small sample size but what an insane hot streak.

Jesus, this is getting ridiculous. EDIT: He is now 3-5 with a HR, 3 RBI, and a BB. His OPS on the season is now up to .698. His numbers with the Brewers are Bonds-esque.

Let Tauchman go on the bereavement list to stay with his family. “Rest” Benintendi a lot. And play Mead and Baldwin.

I guess it’s just one game. Maybe they just want to see how his arm is. I read that it’s pretty bad in his scouting reports. The Sox have a hole at 1B so I just assumed they would move him there. I wonder if they see him as a starter somewhere or just as a utility guy a la Ben Zobrist?

Yep, Getz should jump on any 24/25 year old formerly hyped OF or 1B that somehow makes it to waivers. Based on the news that the Cubs were almost close to trading for Houser, I wouldn’t be surprised if Getz was trying to get their 1B prospect Jonathon Long that was discussed a few times here.

Hopefully he finds his way to another team’s AAA roster next year.

He ended last season with a .652 OPS against lefties. He got worse with more playing time. He’ll also be 30 before next season starts. I think his time has passed and I’d rather see the playing time go to a younger outfielder.

Annoying. I wish they would just play him, but I assume Venable didn’t want such a lefty heavy assortment of outfielders? No idea, but Rojas needs to be DFA’ed yesterday.

Fire Chris Getz
I also hope he continues acquiring younger position players around 24 like Mead rather than 27/28 year olds. Teams aren’t giving up guys in their early 20’s but 24/25 seems to be the age teams are finally willing to give up on their once hyped prospects. With the 27/28 year old guys, time flies too fast to get them MLB at bats and properly evaluate them — see Fletcher, DeLoach, and now probably Robertson.
- DFA's?

I assume he was called up because they wanted a righty outfielder but can we just end the Julks experiment?
