  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 03:08 PM) I'm just not willing to rush into judge people and situations where I don't know s*** about what happened. What? There are court documents and newspaper reports. What more do you want?
  2. I guess if there were any crime heinous enough to cause one to be shunned from MLB, this would be it. If he ever made the majors it would be a giant s$%^-storm for the team that did it.
  3. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 02:04 PM) Yes, but do you agree with his analysis? I hope that Kendall has learned to point his front foot more toward the pitcher. Maintaining his foot angle toward the plate, while striding, is not only not conducive to generating power, but it looks like it would put a lot of stress on that leg. I honestly have no idea anymore. I grew up with the now extinct Charley Lau approach. People on here tell me holding the bat up to the sky while the ball is approaching you is no problem.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan2003 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) I have questions about this too. How many times did he get beaned after that considering this took place "back in the day" when players knew how to "play the right way" and "act like they've been there before"? I think if you were what was once referred to as "certifiable" you got a pass.
  5. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) I just watched this interesting analysis of Kendall's mechanics, by "Rebellion" and it's a little alarming: http://www.minorleagueball.com/2017/3/6/14...lb-draft-report It's the last video on the page and it may have already been posted here, but just in case it hasn't, it's worth watching. Its amazing how many hitting experts there are out there. Amazing anyone could play baseball before Youtube.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) He seems fine to me why would you say that?
  7. so you guys think this is what Rick Hahn thought he was getting? A guy that needed a total rebuild?
  8. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 1, 2017 -> 01:46 PM) You keep playing him, IMO. At the deadline, you simply move him for the best offer you receive, even if it's disappointing. There is plenty of time after the deadline for Davidson to get everyday ABs. That's all you can do. Play at 1B once in a while to show how versatile he is.
  9. Olerud hit 23 homers and .464 as a sophomore at Washington State for some comparison. Oh and he went 15-0 as a pitcher.
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 1, 2017 -> 01:28 AM) He just faced the same team he no hit his last start. You expected him to no hit them again or for that team to not have a better game plan against him? I'd settle for something between no hits and 8 hits in 4 innings.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 31, 2017 -> 06:55 PM) Cmon. This could hardly be a less-efficient market. Econ major here!
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 31, 2017 -> 06:13 PM) ? I mean I get he only went 4 innings, but he gave up no walks and threw roughly 2/3 of his pitches for strikes. He also didn't give up any homeruns. Unless they were hard hits, I'd actually consider this a promising start all things considered. I don't know how to respond to this. I guess I have higher aspirations.
  13. QUOTE (turnin' two @ May 31, 2017 -> 05:47 PM) Giolito's day is done. 4IP 2 ER 3K 7H. This guy is a mess.
  14. might be one or two more we don't even know about yet.
  15. All I'm asking is for someone to show me some comps of players that struck out that much in college yet turned into decent major leaguers.
  16. QUOTE (turnin' two @ May 31, 2017 -> 10:52 AM) In what world is .306/.380/.570 for an OPS of .950 not succeeding? Certainly not that impressive for a 1st round draft pick.
  17. Poor mechanics isn't going to help, that's for sure.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2017 -> 08:36 PM) When he starts his swing he is in the loaded position. Of course he is, but it may be too late. Time will tell if he is able to succeed with that approach.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2017 -> 07:35 PM) Looks fine to me. the photo you show the ball is practically in the catchers mitt!
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2017 -> 06:53 PM) Realistically it doesn't matter where his hands are pre-pitch. As soon as the pitcher comes set, his hands drop into the loaded position anyway. if you watch the video you can see this is not the case. pause it immediately after the video starts, the pitch is out of the pitchers hand and his hands are still up high. http://m.mlb.com/video/v1434772183/detcws-...ossed-in-stands
  21. If you are a right-hander topping out at 92, your control better be damn good and you better have 2-3 quality pitch offerings.
  22. Looking through some highlights his swing looks pretty good to me. Relatively short and quick. hands straight to the ball. I dunno, makes me wonder why he strikes out so damn much.
  23. There's no way Gonzalez should have faced Romine. On TV they showed Jennings waiting to get the signal but it never came. Of course in a season like this it doesn't matter.
  24. The way he holds the bat way up high, it's hard to believe he has a chance at anything.
  25. With that enormous hitch he has its amazing he can hit at all. I just can't understand why he just can't STOP IT!!
