Look, I understand what the original plan was. They have 8 (!) relievers. To think you have to juggle 9-10 relievers to make it through games is what is actually astounding.

You waste a 1st round pick on the guy and jerk him around for years and the first instance of success and they send him right back down. Great way to motivate players.

that he pitched so well would seem to be a good reason to change the master plan. of course I wouldn't want to hinder the development of Jose Ruiz.

So what are they doing with him in AAA now? Starter? Reliever?

Some slick fielding in that Youtube video. Would be a no-brainer back in the 70s-80s when shortstops couldn't hit a lick anyway.

I was young for 1977 but remember a bit. 1983 was a whole mess of fun. More fun than any other year IMO.

I take my son to one or two games per year. Sox are 0-6 in games we've attended. He's very aware of that fact. Chris Sale was his favorite player. Now he doesn't have one. Maybe someday.
